Hi Browncoat Posters!

Recently someone put up a great thread about taking some action for the 1st anniverseary of the BDM and they included Universals address for people to send thank you notes to for making the movie, so since were all writing to each other I thought we could help out here too and drop a couple notes to them too!

I got my first letters in the mail! Yippee, I'm lovin' this!

Oh, ahem.. back to the topic.

Although I think writing Universal and thanking them is all fine to do. I really like the idea that someone has proposed of having big shindigs for the anniversary! I'm much more excited by that. It's possible that like the screenings, if the parties were big enough and fun enough, they'd get press, real press and Universal would see that. Just like they saw the screenings and our success there. I'm afraid with a regular letter writing campaign that Universal might just be going... "Uh huh.. here's somemore of those letters, lots, but not enough to make us think.. yeah.. we wanna give 'em a sequel." or worse.. "I wish they'd quit begging for a sequel.. we'll get to it when we get to it!"
Letter writing campaigns have been done.. overdone.. we did one to SciFi here recently. Time to change tactics? Maybe.

How does this tie into the wonderful ( my new favorite cool thing!) Browncoat Post?

Our members could write each other about ideas for shindigs and write the new BC's that join up with the Browncoat Post. Also we could encourage our members, who like to write to maybe suggest to their local paper that they might have a nice human interest story? A big ole shindig with prizes and viewing Serenity and laughter and fun might be just the kind of news we all need right now in this time of nothing but darkness in the news.

I know I'm being different, but I just can't help feeling we need to celebrate some, kick up our heels and enjoy the BDM. If we do this right, Universal will be saying. "Hmm, now that is new!
Maybe just maybe there's enough of them...."

The screenings for Equality Now certainly got the right kind of attention.. I'd like to see what we do not be ho-hum, but fun!

Your ideas are great! I am so happy everybody has so much passion for Firefly! I got really excited when I saw the Universal address I just knew I had to add to the Browncoat Post list, but your plans are far better then mine!

The Browncoat Post is an awesome idea and it's already made me happy, and I'll bet the others signed up are as delighted as me. I didn't create the Browncoat Post, that is all Saraha! I just named it a nice shiney name and have helped spread the word a bit! I really want it to be a success!

Got my first (second, technically...the first was the address list) postcard today!

I have some flag stationary, but I am still going to try to get ahold of postcards...first batch of something is going out this weekend!

Hell, if we're very lucky and enough people write in to them, maybe universal will pick up where f*x dropped the ball and take up production of the series.
