Hey all:

I foster homeless dogs and cats for the Santa Barbara County animal shelter, and I currently have a litter of Firefly puppies--five boys and four girls, which just OBLIGATED me to name them after the FF crew. (Mom is Nandee, of course.)

Anyway, mom and pups are all available for adoption as of mid-Sept. They're black lab mixes--or purebreds, they're so labby--and just incredibly cute. They'll be big dogs; at 5 weeks, they're already hefty! They've been handled a lot, including by kids, and have been around other adult dogs, so they're well socialized.

The county adoption fee is $75 and includes spay/neuter and first vaccinations, plus a fabulous FF dog!

If you're interested in adopting and live in central or southern California, give me a shout at lee@leeheller.net!

Well, I'm not in the area, but I can help with picture posting! There is a nice little tutorial here: http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=5&t=22105

Aww...I want me some puppies! I live in GA though, so that counts me out ( for this crew, I mean) . Hope they find families soon!

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

Thanks a bunch! I was already using Photobucket to post photos to Craig's List; fff.net just has a slightly different protocol. Your post did the trick, and now the pix are up!!

Oh, they are just adorable. I would remind people what a big commitment keeping a dog is though - having just had to yell at my parents's dogs for barking at the neighbours when they walked by.

Cute cute puppies! I'm a cat person, but this almost makes me want a dog!!

Luckily for my cat, I'm in New England and in no danger of joining the Dark Side. (as my kitty would view it, LOL!)

Absolutely. It's why our shelter requires an application and counseling--we don't just hand out animals, but want to be sure that adopters understand the commitment involved. And puppies are a huge amount of work. Me, I'm all for the older adults--and Nandee is a fabulous dog. . . . If I didn't already have three large adults here, plus five cats, and plans to emigrate to New Zealand, I'd keep her myself. . . .

If you have any kittens in December when I visit, I may steal one...

ok this is puppy torture ( for me not the puppies) I want one...heck I want them all...I already have two rescued dogs and two rescued cats in a small house, but I want those puppies so much...MisterG would kill me if I got them though...
IMPORTANT INFO: If, for some reason, they are in danger of being put down, call Best Friends immediately and they can take them. It's an incredible no kill shelter in Utah ( they will come get them or make arrangements to get them) that houses 17,000 cats and 12,000 dogs on a beautiful ranch. SO if you know anyone who has a pet they are forced to give up, Best Friends can take them and love them and find them nice homes:)

Awwww, love me some Wash. And I'm close enough that I could actually adopt one...if it weren't for the evil landlord who said I could have a dog and then yanked permission away once I got one. Evil, evil landlord.

I'll ask around to see if anyone is looking for a puppy.

No worries--we are low to no-kill here, and puppies are in short supply. There will be a line out the door for these guys. I"m just trying to place them without putting them back in the shelter at all, to avoid exposure to kennel cough, etc.
