From reading all the great quotes it's clear that the entire series and the movie were filled with enough great lines that a thousand other shows and films wish they had in them.

But there's one line no one's mentioned and I "discovered" it after watching the Train Job for the umpteenth time a few months back. When Mal backs up to the edge of the canyon, then looks back at the gathering crowd of baddies and says:

"There's just an acre of you fellas isn't there?"

I just howled, it was so Mal-ish and offbeat. I use this line all the time now whenever there's a grip of folks before me for one reason or another.

One of my favorites is from "Bushwhacked" when Jayne suprises and shoots injuring the only survivor of the Reavers' attack and the crew catches up with him. When Simon remarks that the frightened victim is a real beast to which Jayne replies:
"Looked bigger when I couldn't see him".
If you think about it it makes no sense (if you couldn't see them how would they look.....) but it does in Jayne's hyper-trigger sensibility.

Anyway, I love Jubal Early, and as I reckon he's got to come back some day, I'll keep hope alive and answer with this quote from him, which I'm almost positive is wrong:

I could have sworn I saw a comment about the quotes disappearing from IMDb, but I can't find it right now. Anyway, they didn't disappear--they're just broken out into the different episodes they are from. IMDb changed format a while ago and now has the shows broken out into seasons, and under the seasons, the eps from the season. Not as convenient as far as the quotes go, but at least they are still there.

Favorite quote? Hmmm...as many have said, hard to pick just one. I'll go with Book's "special hell" quote, for now.

One of my faves, and SO easy to use on a daily basis:

Jayne: "You are seriously damaging my calm!"

I know there's more to that line, but that's the gist of it.

And yeah, the dialogue in Firefly and Serenity is remarkable. To all the writers who made Firefly and Serenity a reality, I hope you don't mind if I use it as a textbook of sorts.

Lost dog- yup that would be one of my favorites too... I think that scene so perfectly encapsulates both Mal and Zoe as well as the love between Simon and River.

aaaaw,tears are all but aflowing with the memories awoken here,thats what this is,not the quotes as such,we instantly remember the next scene and it links us as a whole to our memory of firefly/serenity, were all a little like river in that this page is just full of triggers,that set us off on our journey once more back home onboard the boat,and lets not forget that a fair few of us have quotes in our sig.boxes.. but personally id like to quote the 'Grrrr,Aaaargh' zombie cutout at the end cause no-ones mentioned him yet and he was in every episode...

oh,and Zoe after Mal and Wash's rescue....take me sir,take me hard..............
