I ordered one back around February and got mine a few months later. Then in a shipping mixup I ended up getting a second one earlier this month.

I returned the extra to him, so that size L should be headed out to someone else.

I pre-ordered two and I think I got mine relatively quickly after they started shipping. I know there are people on here who are a mite upset with him, but my dealings with him have always been pleasant.

Before I got the Troublemaker tee, I also purchased a Dharma Initiative tee from him, and was completely satisfied with it and the shipping time. I'm planning on ordering more shirts from him in the future. I honestly think he just didn't plan for the high demand this Troublemaker shirt would attract, and is a bit overwhelmed at the moment. He's not a bad guy from my experience.

Ordered some shirts back in May and still haven't received them. I finally snapped a few days ago and asked for my money back. Have to see how that turns out.

I really don't understand how a legitimate business can take money from people and not have product to ship within three months time. If this guy really is a Browncoat his reputation is eroding every day he fails to get merchandise sent to his customers. Burning your cash crop is not the wisest idea.

Ordered one 4th July, was told it shipped 17th July - it never turned up so I contacted Paypal who recovered my money - I won't say anything bad about them, just 'caveat emtor' (let the buyer beware).
It's a shame really because it looks like a nice shirt and I wanted it to go with my replica Jayne shirt (the one he wore in the maidenhead bar in Serenity - finally finished).
I am surprised that the moderators of this site are still letting SSDESIGNER advertise here though.

We understand that some of you are upset that you haven't received your Jayne "Troublemaker" shirt yet. I am not directly involved with the creation of this shirt, but I have direct contact with Scott (ssdesigner). I spoke with him last night, and he asks that you keep a few things in mind:
- There has been an overwhelming interest in this shirt.
- The shirts are being custom-dyed from the manufacturer.
- The graphics are not only silk-screened, but also heat-transferred.
- Scott has recently moved and does not have internet access yet except at work where internet activity is monitored.
- New orders for this shirt, as of today, are on backorder until Mid-October 2006.
- Existing orders ARE being processed and fulfilled. A post on our forum from one person doing some of the work states 100+ shirts have been completed and will be shipped out.

If the manufacturer delays the custom dyed shirts, if there's a delay in shipping, if there's a problem with some of the screen printing or heat transfers, etc. this all turns into a domino effect for the purchaser receiving the product.

This is not a scam, there's a multitude of people who have received their shirt and are more than completely satisfied. Sure, there're some who haven't received it yet, but I can assure you, IT IS coming. With such a large quantity being ordered, there are going to be some issues - it's inevetiable - but those issues are in a small percentage overall.

You're anxious about receiving the screen-accurate shirt, I don't blame you! With Scott moving recently and with his limited internet access, some of my projects are on a temporary hold right now. I know how you feel and I get frustrated at times also, but remember, this is just a shirt afterall, and orders are being processed as quickly as possible.

Honestly, I'm not 100% certain of the status of your order. Based on the information I -DO- have, and since it was ordered on May 8th, I can safely say that it is on the way.

However, it's remotely possible that space monkeys may "test wear" your shirt to ensure quality and wearability. I can't guarantee that though, sorry.

Fellow Browncoats,

Again, my apologies for the delays. I just moved into a new home after selling my old place and things were in alot of chaos with the move and the delays on the shirts etc, not how I do business 99.9% of the time, (this is but one of 20+ different shirt designs I sell) but this time real life got in the way and I apologize.

Before I moved I was told that internet access would be available IMMEDIATELY, this was not the case (I'm in a brand new development) so after being jerked around by Comcast I immediately got setup with a dial up connection so that I could get caught up. I'm getting thru my orders one at a time so please continue to be patient with me.

Thanks SO MUCH for all the kind letters and emails in regards to this shirt, I appreciate it very much!! :)

Warning - Personal Opinion talking

Whilst I appreciate that there are factors which can delay deliveries, when I am told my shirt has shipped I expect to receive it within two weeks (especially when I paid extra for Priority shipping to the UK) and not have to wait MONTHS.

I do not expect to sit on my @ss waiting for replies to my querying e-mails (I placed my order 4th JULY remember)nor do I want to have to get Paypal involved in order to get my money back (I still lost our because the exchange rate shifted and I got less than I paid).

Like I said - it's a crying shame because I SOOOO
wanted one.

I am still waiting on my shirt as well. I got an email from him where he stated he was "sore" because I questioned the customer service I received!! Though he did offer me my money back even when I told him all I want is the shirt I have been waiting on for the past three months.

EXACTLY MY POINT.

Whilst the end result may well be worth the wait, you have to consider all us poor buyers out there who have heard nothing about our purchases, but have time constraints within which we can recover our monies should said purchase fail to turn up. These constraints are constantly exceeded by the delivery times of the supplier so you end up either risking your money (with no chance of recovery) and praying that the darn thing survives the reavers and space monkeys to get to ya, or as in my case cancelling the order via paypal (cuz they wouldn't reply). What gets me is I cancelled my order after they said it had been sent, now IF it HAD been shipped, it would have either still arrived (in which case I am honest enought to pay them for it) or they lied about the shipping and cancelled my order, or (most unlikely) some thieving SOB in the postal service is wearing it.
Given that it has taken four months to get to some people I am interested to see what develops in the coming weeks.

I just received my Jayne Troublemaker shirt last week. I ordered it back in May, I think. Might have been April. Can't remember, it's been awhile. Before it finally arrived, I had a heck of a time getting any response from the seller. But, I can say, it did arrive. And it looks great.

It seems we have experienced the same thing.I was told that mine had been shipped back in July. When I sent him a copy of the email he said that he must have been mistaken and that he was sorry. So apparently tracking of shipments is done by guess work.
From some of the post on here and other message boards there is a 50% chance of getting the shirt.

I just want to know how long I will have to wait it's driving me crazy!

Alex from BlueSunShirts.com reported receiving a cease and desist letter from FOX asking him to please stop making anything “related in any way to the Firefly Series.” He’s got two weeks to close up, although he’s looking into licensing and could use a hand with that if anyone out there knows how to go about it.

I hope he does, he was one of the very first to start making shirts and he’s got great designs you can’t find anywhere else. But this marks a gloomy precedent for Browncoats, who have made tons of their own stuff in the absence of offical wares. Are more letters forthcoming? Five years later, is FOX starting to realize they have a valuable property? How are they defining “related”?

Few fans would dispute that FOX has the right to protect their copyrights. But will this be the same sort of massive attack on fansites as the Simpsons and X-Files onslaughts that alienated their most fervent fans, or will they take an approach that recognizes the value of fansites to the franchises — especially this one — and limit the C&D letters? Keep an eye out, boys and girls.

MY COMMENT IS:
How typical is this! Won’t be long before every fan group named “Anything Browncoats” is sent a Cease And Desist Order. Sad part is, there don’t even have to be any profits involved for an “intellectual property owner” to demand the end of use of that intellectual property. Oh, I’m not a lawyer, but I do despise their soul-sucking tendrils reaching into every fun thing in the world.

Also, I did receive my XL Serenity yellow Troublemaker Tee and it is beautiful.
The wait was tough.
I'm hoping ssdesigner gets the distribution up to the quality of his product.
The Serenity yellow Troublemaker Tee should be safe from Fox copyright nazis as it is a Universal Serenity movie item. But waiting for ssdesigner to do a Fighting Elves shirt may be a dead end if Fox aggresively goes after all unauthorized Firefly merchandise. I'm extremely pleased with my BlueSunShirts.com Fighting Elves shirt. Maybe best jump on those while you still can?

I ordered mine back in July-ish. I understand that the yellow they use is custom and that they are trying a new method of transfer. Hell, I don't even mind waiting, but don't tell me you're going to ship in in October and then not, or at least tell me there is another delay.

Just an UPDATE:

They sent me that original email saying it was shipped on the 19th of this month.

It is 10 days later and no shirt.

They pretty much lied to me.

I asked for tracking info and never got an email back.

Don't order shirts from these guys - they are not being legit.

So, I never received my shirt that would definitely be here before Halloween.

(Happy Halloween, everyone.)

My advice - DON'T buy shirts from this guy. The product might seem nice, but there are other companies out there. This guy lied to a bunch of us - saying he mailed our shirts and then he never mailed them. To make matters worse - he blamed US for the mix-up.

By telling me he promised shipment before Halloween - it prevented me from buying another shirt to fit my Halloween costume.

I can't deal with a businessman that would opt to lie to a customer to quiet them up, rather than handle the business @ hand. This guy is shady and I have reported him to numerous groups and Browncoat websites already.

this is by far the worst experience i've had buying stuff on internet or anywhere else.I'm just starting think that SS does not care.
He pretty much never returns emails,never posts anything relevent about the status of the shirt.
When I started this thread I hoped delay was all just a shipping error,but the only error here was buying a shirt from him.

I have been waiting seven months and I can't get him to respond either. I tried to file a claim with Paypal but it has been over the 45 days to do so.

I'm giving him until next friday. If I get nothing, shirt or email, I'm filing a claim with the BBB and talking to my uncle (he's a corporate attorney) to see if there's any legal recourse that can be taken. This is borderline consumer fraud.

Guys/Gals,

My sincere apologies for the delays, lack of response here, and MANY thanks for being patient with me. I've been going through some very tough times at my "real" job the last 3.5 weeks due to corporate cutbacks and have not been able to devote as much time into getting orders processed in a timely fashion as I would like to. This is not me making excuses for my recent practices, rather, me apologizing that you all had to be a part of it. I am very sorry to all who have been waiting for their orders.

As of yesterday (11-16-06) ALL orders have been processed and shipped, and everyone who has requested a refund via Paypal has had it honored and it will go through in the next couple of days.

I have been working on the artwork to do up a new batch of the yellow gun tees. This in and of itself took quite a bit of doing since the original method was just a printout and heat transfer. The gun artwork and all of it's colors had to be seperated out into individual screens....VERY tricky, but....These are as promised, 100% silkscreen. I think they look every bit as good as the heat transfers...here is a photo of a completed tee:

OK, I may be dense, but I'm confused. So is the entire batch that was just processed and shipped (as of 11-16-06) the new silkscreen version, or the printout/heat transfer? The way it's worded, I can't tell. What are the benefits of each? By the way, the shirts look spectacular.

The shirt pictured is 100% silkscreen, NO heat transfer. Over time the heat transfers fade, crack, and peel....silkscreen is how most shirts are done and the inks used are very durable.

Thanks-I apprecite the info. So how is one able to discern between the two methods? Size? Feel? Is one method more difficult or time consuming vs. another? Just curious....

After hearing about all these people having problems with the Troublemaker shirts, I decided to wait on ordering one until after some of the fuss and rush had died down. I wasn't dissuaded from SSdesigner by the complaints, because I have been following the development of the design ever since the idea was brought up when his site opened, and he seemed like an overall legit guy.

So, after reading that post about the new silkscreened version on his forum, I immediately bought one.

I received it 2 days later, and it looks absolutely fantastic.

My recommendation: buy from SSdesigner, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better producer of this design...just be aware that there may be delays. I do have the feeling, though, that he's finally pulled some stuff together and will be running a little smoother now.

I want to first thank you for posting your experience with ssdesigner and also for being a watchfull member of my forum.

This shirt has been a labor of love for me and I've NEVER abandoned it. I've been looking for ways to improve upon it from day #1.

I've dealt with more issues with this shirt then ALL of my other shirts combined, times TEN. It's been a real battle to make this the best Troublemaker shirt out there, and I thank ALL OF YOU who have stood by me through all of this.

Don't get me wrong, the pictures look great and I have not a doubt in my mind that I will love the shirt. Let's hope that the service starts to match the quality of the product and future customers are spared the frustration and headache we've experienced.

That's great you got it in two days, but it only frustrates me even more. He emalied me 6 days ago and said he shipped it but I still have not received it! I have been dealing with this for 7 months and told twice my shirt has shipped and still no show!!!!

Reading all of these posts just make me sad. I really wanted my Slims and Fighting Elves. But it looks like I will never get them. I can't even get an "I'm sorry" email.

And I would love to buy a Troublemaker but I can't afford to lose any more money.

And Christmas is right around the corner.

That was seven days ago. Based on your email it had been shipped before or at the very least on 11/15/06. I would think that seven days is enough time for it to appear in the system.

I am not arguing with you I am stating the facts as I see them. I have been dealing with you for the last seven months and the treatment I have received has been very poor to say the least. So you will have to pardon me for being skeptical when dealing with you. This same feeling of frustration and dissatisfaction was expressed by many others on your message board which you conveniently deleted and then deleted them from having access to your board. So don’t act as though you are being mistreated or a victim. By your response I am guessing you didn’t ship it when you said you did and will be on the look out for it in the mail so hopefully this nightmare will be over.
Yes I know that you have received many emails from many appreciative customers and that’s great! I am glad that they didn’t have to experience what the other 50% of us have.

just want to add my two cents (for what it's worth)...as far as I'm concerned, I'm giving Scott some leeway. It sounds like his life has been crazy lately, and is trying his hardest to put out a quality product. And, really, with the climate as it is around here lately, it's nice to see someone *not* fold up their tents and close up shop. (By the way, I've been waiting on my order for several months just like everyone else).

Well, I got my shirt in the mail and I have to say it is very good and worth the wait. Maybe not the headache, but worth the wait. The only isssue I can see is with the heat transfer, it looks fine now, but I know it's going to start falling apart after a few washes. But that happens with all heat transfers, so I knew what I was getting into. Looks like I'll have to get one made with the new process soon.
