Anybody watching Serenity day put down your name(alias) in this post.

It's kinda a survey to see how many people are actually looking on the boards on the Serenity anniversary & how many people are watching Serenity today.

So put down a reply saying your watching Serenity at least once & if you want put down,if you've bought the DVD or written a letter to Universal.

WEll, ... *snorts* Sorry, the Shepard as Einstien-hair is the piccy on this post.

Well, I loaned out Serenity, probably ... the first WEEK of the month, so, me's sitting here, bashing myself for not having dual copies. FF is being watched though.

My little semi-brownish-persuasion-coat has YET to watch it for all the homework she has. I must make her watch it today.

And nifty-fun fact! You, too, can have a low budget Serenity model if you make a crane out of Aluminum foil, and mess about with it enough. Mordacil's idea, not sure if he's breached it yet.

During the past week, I really did some great marketing to those that have not even heard of Firefly and or Sernity. Telling them: "You just do not know what you are missing...you are going to thank me...believe me...

I guess I sounded so serious that my phone guy will buy it today or tomorrow...

Since I am sort of new here and pardon my ignorance, where is the best place to send a letter?

Hi,
I listened to the entire soundtrack of Firefly as I cleaned house today. I almost listen to it every day (can a cd get worn out?) I finally convinced my sister and brother-in-law to watch Serenity on HBO. I said "you can watch for free, you will like it, just watch it!"

It was very funny to see it from their perspective. They did not see the series first. So for the first 10 minutes she was calling me on her cell phone. Why did that black guy kill the scientist? Is the captain keeping the girl and her brother against their will? What are those breeder people? Yes she said "breeder", I answered all of her questions and said they were called "reavers". No more phone calls and then the next day, didn't you say you had the dvd set? I bring my sister the Firefly dvd set and she looks at it and says "No I wanted you to bring the Serenity set." I explained that the Firefly set was the prequel to Serenity. She hadn't caught the name of the ship during the movie (give her a break she is not a scifi person). So I made the supreme sacrifice my sister is going to be watching Firefly today. Another browncoat is born! Elaine

Please! Nobody died last time!

Just watched it on HBO, the Fiancee and I are going to watch FF or "Doing the Impossible" while we eat lunch, and Serenity is going to be at the Shindig tonight- My Very FIRST SHINDIG. Good God, I wonder what it's going to be like. I am scheduling a Browncoat gathering for tancoats (they're not quite Brown yet, but oh yes, they will be- they WILL be.)

I am also going to schedule a "Watch Serenity while cleaning weapons or clean weapons out in the sun" time for my Marines. (They usually have to do it in the sun anyway, this time they can do it indoors if they watch the movie while they clean).

Buying the BDM for my parents today, and posting about it on my Myspace (the overwhelming majority of people I know who have myspace are not Browncoats, so good area to advertise)...

Writing another thank-you email to universal, as well.

Watched the entire season this week to build up.
I got a newbie to watch it last night, still havent sent my thank-you email, on the list for today.

There are so many good things in that little bit of disc. Mal's lips after he says, I aim to misbehave. River's floaty blue dress on Miranda.
Serenity thumping down onto the runway at Mr Universes' place.
Zoe's stoical face when Kaylee asks where's Wash.
Simon's jump as River's face appears in the door of the galley.
Having someone new appreciate the grace of River.

I love this story and how it is made it is made visual.
Bless Joss Whedon for his brilliance and his willingness to share it.

Today, I went to Busch Gardens, FL. Stopped by the Guest Relations window to fill out a thank you form. They gave me a complaint form and I said no I wanted to say thank you. She got me a
separate form that at least looked like I hadn't been injured at the park

I said something like Thank you for advertising on the Sci-Fi channel on September 18th during the Firefly Marathon and that is how I found out about the Howl-o-Scream thing at Busch Gardens and mentioned that I checked out their website http://noone2trust.com

Couldn't wear my Official Universal Serenity logo shirt because it is black and IT IS JUST TOO DARN HOT HERE.

Wore it last night and the desk clerk said she would check out the movie. Will wear another Serenity shirt when we eat out tonight.

Hotel doesn't have a DVD player and Serenity isn't in the list of movies.

At least I can use the INTERNET.

Tomorrow, I plan to buy it direct from Universal when I get home.

My stepmom and I went to eat at the Alcove here in L.A. yesterday, and Sean Maher was sitting right there!

So, when she went inside to order, I went over and said Hi.

He actually stood up to shake my hand, and made it a point to stop and wave good-bye on his way out! How cool is that?!

I marched right over to Amoeba and bought the Serenity DVD (I'd been waiting for the price to drop, but I guess $14.99 is as low as it's gonna get)!

I've watched the entire disc twice already: Including every commentary and featurette!

OK, a day late, but my newly formed local Browncoats group (Greenville Browncoats) had their first shindig on the 30th. Organised less than a month ago, we still had a third of our membership (5 of 15) show. We watched "Done the Impossible", the preview disc that came with Battlestar Galactica last year (so I could point out the woman I was standing behind at a Chicago pre-screening while someone else was being interviewed!!!), and the 40-minute unaired version of the pilot episode "Serenity". Two of our number had to leave after that, but the rest of us settled in to watch "Serenity". Good folks, good food, and Firefly. Can't beat it!

We watched Serenity at home Saturday night. Saturday we spent several hours posting fliers, doing some guerilla marketing at local stores facing out Serenity & Firefly, facing the novelization & RPG books, and doing what we could to point people towards the dvds. We got through to some people, and even met a browncoat who was not aware of the online communities or our local group.

MySpace is an area we'll be moving into soon, USMCHellraiser. We had the video contest which just finished recently and we're going to take those vids and use them all across the myspace community. I personally feel vindicated that the stupid family cartoon movie that opened on our weekend made less than serenity. For the weekend they gave us, with the advertising they gave us, WE WERE MIGHTY and all those bozos who say "disappointing opening" only have a leg to stand on when they refer to the relatively short run.

and posting about it on my Myspace (the overwhelming majority of people I know who have myspace are not Browncoats, so good area to advertise)...

MySpace is an area we'll be moving into soon, USMCHellraiser. We had the video contest which just finished recently and we're going to take those vids and use them all across the myspace community. There will be myspace spaces for Firefly that we can all make our friend and in this way we hope to be able to spread Firefly/Serenity all across myspace.

THAT. IS. AN. AWESOME. IDEA!

I watched it today and I bought the Soundtrack.

Does that help any?

Yes. Serenity Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is Official Universal Serenity stuff. So Universal gets a cut.

See the Universal logo on it.
