I really liked this series when I was a kid. Still catch it from time to time in reruns on one of the cable networks late on Saturday nights.

Word, veeeeery shiny. I saw it like twice in my whole life, but uber geek (me) loves cheesy 80's adventure cartoons. I dunno, might just have to add that one to the ol' Christmas list.

Only a week or so to preorder the D&D boxed set and save a few bucks over the amazon.com price by buying from deep discount. I'll be quiet now.

Sorry, yes I'm a deep discount fan. I once bought $156 worth of stuff and still saved like $60 off of the amazon.com prices for the same items.

One way you can try to notify folks that you want the series on DVD is you can sign up at the http://tvshowsondvd.com/ site

and then goto the Thundarr page at http://tvshowsondvd.com/showresults.cfm?ShowName=thundarr&ShowCategory
=&Decade=&MaxRows=25&StartRow=1

and then click on the way you wish you could get the series on DVD ... right now the rights to the show are unknown to tvshows on dvd but clicking yes that you want the show released may help lead to someone picking up the rights .. one can hope ...

You can even leave a message for the site owner and the eventual distributor to see ...

I really hope the D&D series is as good as my memories of it are. Nice to know someone else found this humble thread a tiny bit useful.

I'll await the Twin Peaks "April 2007" release date with an arched skeptical brow. They keep teasing me and if I should get hopeful I'll be let down I'm sure.

But it's good to know there's plans in the works. Honestly, why do they drag these things out? The market for the DVD is there. Just release it already.

Okay I've been really patient to no avail. With so many old shows getting the DVD treatment where the hell is my Tales of the Gold Monkey? Somebody else besides me must remember this one.

Finally cracked the plastic on the set ....

Some random comments:

Considering its 23 years old, I'm surprised the episodes aren't more grainy.

It is cheesy as all get out at points.

I couldn't help picking on a little bit of one episode in MST3K style

Someone found a thread I started about donating Firefly to my library so I decided to brush this thread off ...

I got to watch a few discs of this series prior to xmas ....

Reflections (slightly expanded from prior post): Its still cheesy, there is some grain and rough spots (scratches and the like) in the master. BUT what does one expect as the master tapes were almost 25 years old.

It has a cool interview with the creators and two episode commentaries (which I haven't heard). I even found what I believe was an easter egg. Not sure if there are more of the blighters. Even has a find your own adventure type interactive gaame (which calls the female unicorn, that accompanied the 6 kids, a he throughout)
