Sometimes certain moments in the show make you bust out laughing in the middle of what is otherwise a dark, or even dull episode. I just came across a couple of memorable ones during this week's syndicated eps:

* When everyone thinks Willow is a vampire, Xander holds out a cross at her and when it doesn't work, he looks confused, shakes it like a near-empty spray paint can, and holds it up at her again

* When Buffy can read minds, her reaction to finding out her Mom had sex with Giles and the way she brings it up casually to Giles at the end of the ep

So, what are your most memorable funny moments?

- Xander's butt-monkey rant.

- When Xander got split in two and was a bad influence on himself.

- During the credits when Xander, Willow and Buffy had to do a scene from a play in the talent show.

Gotta agree with the Willow being mistaken for a vamp by the rest of the gang.

In Hush the whole scene around Buffy's 'staking' hand motion. The look on everyone's faces is just brilliant and each is different.

Giles referring to Americans as "bloody colonials".

When Giles refers to the fear demon as actual size.

And many many more....

Oh my god. So many!!! That is part of what makes this show so wonderful:

#1: Earshot

When Buffy finds out about sex with Giles
When Giles walks into the tree (#1 hands down)

Yes, the scene when everyone realizes Willow isn't a vampire.

Something Blue: The bathtub scene in the beginning and all the scenes between Buffy and Spike as Giles is going blind. Xander: "Can I be blind too? "

"Randy" speech about being a vampire with a soul in Tabula Rasa

In the midst of the one of the saddest eps ever:
"Xander, you're not real. They get in my mind, make me see things I want.'
"Then why would they make you see me?"
"You're right. Lets get out of here."

When we find out why Giles always cleans his glasses.

Cordy and Wesley's kiss

Band Candy. Just pick a scene with Giles in it.

When Ethan turns Giles into a Fyarl demon.

"You made a bear!"
"I didn't mean to!"
"Undo it! Undo it!"

When Robin Wood tells Faith that he's prettier than her.

And so many more!!!

Off the top of my head...

After they blow up the Judge and Buffy is fighting Angelus. It then randomly cuts to Oz standing over the Judge's dismembered arm and he just points to it and says, "Arm..."

Or when Xander is trying to get Larry to confess to being a Werewolf but then it turns out Larry is gay. Xander's expression was priceless.

Gotta agree with Sashasrm.
When Spike shouts 'A bear! You made a bear!' and tries to hop away on his chair is just priceless. Thats def the funniest Buffy ep for me, that whole time when Spike wanted to be evil but couldn't cos of the chip and before he became Buffy-whipped was his finest hour. Let's not forget when he emerges from the shadows in Xander's clothes!

Oh yeah and in 'Crush' when Xander says:
"And you should never hurt the feelings of a brutal killer...you know, that's actually some pretty good advice."

one of my favourites is when alternate universe vamp willow is there, and real willow tries to impersonate her. She puts on the leather corset etc, looks down and says "wow, lookey here" or something like that - surprised to see she actually has cleavage in that outfit.

crossover episode in angel - oz taking the ring of amorryha (sp?) to angel and there brief conversation Doyle says - are they always like that - oz says something lie - no sometimes we are laconic.
And yes, band candy is one of my favourite episodes - giles is hilarious in it.

Oh Wow! I watched that episode last night too! There were quite a few funny moments in that last series like that and that was the one that jumped to mind when I read this thread!

Also - Robin saying 'Surprise' to Faith just when the tears have started to well up coz you think he's dead in the final ep.

Also - End of Earshot - I agree with everyone that Giles walking into a tree is hilarious!

Also - In Hush when Anya makes 'sex-gestures' to Xander and they race off to 'do it'!

Also - Anya (on Halloween night, at the Magic Box) "I'm a special kind fo angel, called a 'Charlie'..."

Also - In 'Once More With Feeling' in 'Walk into the Fire' (or something like that) Spike: "First I'll save her then I'll kill her" Willow: "I think this line's mostly filler..."

Also - (ep. late in series 7) - when Willow says, "this could get out of control, and not in a good, my-girlfriend-has-her-tongue-pierced kind of way." then several beats later both Xander and Dawn go "Oh!" (& Dawn adds "tongue pierced, right")

Something Blue is such a joy to watch! Xander's reaction to Buffy's engagement is priceless. As is Giles'. And Riley's. Actually, every part of that episode is pure comic genius!

Dopplegangland is also brilliant and is one of my favourites. The library scene where the guys think Willow is a vampire has been mentioned a few times, but I also love Wesley's scream after he's defeated vampWillow (in the lamest way possible) and Cordelia taps him on the shoulder. And Willow pretending to be vampWillow has me in stitches every time. Running her fingers through a girl's hair and getting all tangled, "I'm a bloodsucking fiend! Look at my outfit!" Hee hee hee!

Willow: It's horrible! That's me as a vampire? I'm so evil! And... skanky! And I think I'm kinda gay.
Buffy: Willow, just remember, a vampire's personality has nothing to do with the person it was.
Angel: Well, actually... (gets a look from Buffy)That's a good point.

In Hush, the projector scene with the sketches/drawings of the gentlemen, Giles was trying to explain.
Buffy's staking motion. And Giles drawing of Buffy! That was hilarious.

In Tabula Rasa, when Spike realizes he is Brittish too and thought to be Giles' son. Also when he thought he was a superhero too. All of their reaction when they opened the door of The Magic Box. Spike's vampire with a soul bit.

A whole lot of Xander scene. He has a really, really amazing comic timing. I have to mention this, is Nick in anyway related to Matthew Perry?? Weird!

Xander in Once More With Feeling, admitting that he had summoned the Demon and asked if he was to become his queen. Hahahahaha!!!

Dracula episode, Xander becomes his servant. The eating spiders and bugs thing and his comment at the end.

In season 7, Buffy and Angel after killing Mal, ah I mean, Caleb. Buffy says Spike has a soul now. Angel's reaction. So funny!

Do not remember the episode, but, when Willow goes to find Giles, and then he's in the bar singing "Behind Blue Eyes"

Everyone just looked show shocked!

During "Once More With Feeling", just as Spike starts singing, the facial expression as he shuts the door, you could almost see the "bloody hell I'm singing too" in his face.

I JUST saw those eps, and gotta agree.

There's a line by Willow from 'Gingerbread' that , while not the funniest, sticks out to me as being one of the cutest.

Willow: "Mom, I'm not an age group. I'm me. Willow group."

I've always liked Willow, of course, but from viewing the DVDs start -> finish, she's really grown on me. Hell, everyone has, but Willow especially. I love how Joss compared Kaylee to Willow ( both adorable red heads ) as being the heart and soul of their respective shows.

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

One of countless funny moments in the entire run of the series is from "Once More With Feeling" when just after Spike said he believed he must be immune to the whole musical thing, and he starts singing his feelings to Buffy, the reaction on his face, and then her eye-rolling (STILL cracks me up every time), and also at the end when Sweet is gone and they're all still continuing anyway and Spike realizes what he's doing (singing and raising his arm up like everyone else)he snorts and says "Bugger this" and walks off.

Countless times I would get a memory flash of those two scenes and crack the hell up right in the middle of work.

And of course, the image of Spike bouncing around in that chair in "Pangs" and then falling backwards!

There are so many funny moments, but I have to say there's one in first season that always gets me. It's after Xander has gone to grab Angel to go help Buffy fight the master and they are walking down the corridor
Xander: Are you looking at my neck?"
Angel:"No"
Xander: "You're looking at my neck. I told you to eat before we left!"

What's so good about BUFFY is that your question has so many inexhaustible answers. Just quickly the thing that had me in fits the first time I caught it was with the Mayor when he was ticking things off his to do list... Well on there was "Become Invincible" and he ticks it off!!! Absolutely priceless - I lost it when I saw that and had to pause the dvd!

Also the episode where Xander creates a spell with Amy to make Cordelia want him and the ol' switcheroo happens and everyone else likes him instead and he darts into the library for cover and piles junk up behind the door. Then Buffy strolls in opening the door the other way. Very subtle and very funny.

Ok I'll be back. :) I'm watching an episode now from season two :D

So many, but here's just a few...

In "Witch," when Buffy's all spellbound & acting goofy...

Buffy: I just got kicked off the team, didn't I?
Xander: I don't think it was your fault.
Buffy: Hmm, I know you don't, that's 'cause you're my friend. You're my Xander-shaped friend! (leans her head on his shoulder) Do you have any idea why I love you so, Xander?
Willow: We gotta to get her to a...
Xander: (stops Willow with a gesture) Let her speak!
Buffy: I'll tell you! You're not like other boys at all.
Xander: Well...
Buffy: You are totally, and completely one of the girls! (to Willow) I'm that comfy with him.
Willow smiles widely.
Xander: That's great.
Buffy: Any other guy who'd give me a bracelet, they'd... wanna date me, and be like a...

In "Never Kill a Boy...", when Buffy, Xander & Owen are talking by the lockers; Owen makes a little joke in line with Buffy's excuse, and Xander makes that great "pity laugh" expression, then when Owen hands Buffy his gold pocket watch, Xander looks piteously at his own Tweety watch.

After Willow accidentally shoots Giles in the butt with the tranquilizer gun, and Giles looks back and says, "Bloody priceless!" before he passes out.

I also loved the times when one character would say, "It's a long story..." and another character would sum things up real well...

Willow: “Oz is a werewolf.”
Buffy: “Long story.”
Oz: “I got bit.”
Buffy: “Apparently not that long.”

Buffy: “Long story.”
Cordelia: “Got hunted.”

Thanks, Charlie! I caught the whole Where The wild Things Are ep on youtube last night. They also had the clips from Restless and Yoko Factor.

I love while Giles is singing in Restless and asks Xander to help Willow, they pan over to X & W and they're holding up the lighters!

Poseable Dawn mumbling "Don't talk about VOMIT!"

The look on her face (and Tara's) as she figures out what she's looking at in the demon picture book isn't a horn.

Falling off the bench as "Theme to a Summer Place" plays on the soundtrack.

Her sulky " I gave birth to a pterodactyl."

Buffy moments:

"Do you stuff your own shirts or have them sent out?"

"I see your aaagh and raise you a bleahh."

I, too, loved the Ghandi line. I also liked the part in "Gingerbread" when Willow and her mom were talking about "King Friday ruling over all the lesser puppets" and "Satan, fill me with your naughty naughtiness!" There are many, many more but I'd rather not list them all.

I loved "Lover's Walk" as well. It was just do great to see Spike return to Sunnydale not as a big bad, but as a broken man full of self-pity. Myf ave bit between him and Joyce was when she says "Well, she sounds very unreasonable." and he replies, "She is, she's out of her mind. That's what I miss most about her."

Also, Season 6 was wildly uneven, but one of my favorite comedic bits between Dawn and Buffy was in "All The Way" when they track Dawn down and they're squaring off against the vampires, and the sisters choose at this point to argue.

Buffy: You were parking? With a vamp?
Dawn: I-I didn't know he was dead!
Justin: Living dead.
Dawn: Shut up!
Buffy: How could you not know?
Dawn: I just met him.
Buffy: Oh, so you went parking in the woods with a boy you just met.
Justin: Actually, we kinda hang out at school.
Buffy: Stay out of this.

I just love these domestic disputes that happen during the monster hunts.
