I completely bought it yesterday morning and watched it last night!
I had seen it in the theatres, but it was almost more fun watching after I knew what to expect.

It's just pure ridiculous, well-scripted, well-acted entertainment.

Plus, there are tons of quality extra features. Any true fan of our Captain should own Slither.

(Well, I've totally just created an ad but seriously, it's worth your money.) :) Woot.

The Director James Gunn mentions Firefly in the DVD extras. I won't spoil the joke...but hopefully it leads some fans to Firefly.

And Serenity is mentioned on the backcover

as in

"Now it's up to local sheriff, Bill Pardy (Nathan Fillion, Serenity)

The DVD extras are really fun!

It's out? I thought it wasn't released until Halloween.

How many Jaynes does it take to change a light bulb?

Two. One to try to put it in and another to find a bigger hammer.

Yeah, I was hoping the same thing. Isn't that in the Nathan Fillion "roast" extra? I'm wondering if Gunn is actually a Firefly fan himself or who might have led him to Nathan.

It is in the "Who is Bill Pardy?" DVD extra. I had to turn on close captioning during it to get all the jokes. Several people talking at once. James Gunn is sitting in a directors chair talking to someone next to him talking about Nathan when he mentions Firefly.

The story I remember reading is that a friend saw a picture of Nathan in a magazine in a kilt and said how about this guy for your movie. And James Gunn said something like the guy from Firefly.

On this page is a picture of Nathan in the kilt.

Whoever arranged the DVD extras made sure there was fun stuff in every part of the DVD extras. Look at the Lloyd video. You can see Nathan impersonating James Gunn--matter of opinion.

They all had so much fun doing this movie and it shows in the movie.

Listened to the commentary with James Gunn and Nathan last night. Every once and while James started laughing so much it was hard to understand him.

The extras are hilarious (though not for children because of swearing and some sexual references).

I found the movie more scary in the BOO fashion than creepy. Not so scary that I can't watch it again which is good. I can't wait to watch it again with the commentary because as someone said:
Nathan + commentary = funny

Nathan seems to manage to keep everybody on the set loose and relaxed. No wonder Joss thinks he's the best actor in the world.
