It may be crap, but it's popular crap. Honest to God, down where I am right now, there's a Bonanza channel. That's right, a Bonanza channel. A whole channel dedicated to showing Bonanza reruns. Now if we can show that we have a more dedicated, rabid fanbase than some show that's got its own TV channel (not to mention a ten-year run and fifty or so years of exposure), then I am all for it.

On that note, we passed 70,000 today! As of now, we have 70,070 votes, and a shiny new showing on the TV screen. Less than 10,000 votes to Farscape, people!

Don't forget that this list was generated by fans voting for their show to be included in the Top 40 all-time best TV shows. So while it isn't a true indication of the best TV shows ever, it does reflect the strength and committment of the fan base.

Firefly was on the air less than a season, yet we've had enough strength as fans to pull it into the Top 5 and climbing, against shows that were on for years (and are still on).

No one else but the fans of the other shows may notice, but I'm having fun showing what Browncoats are made of. We are committed; we will prevail.

Rabidly averaging 20 votes a day, I'm doing my part.

Some folks use their idle CPU's to help SETI, or to try to crack someones 256bit crypto key. I use mine to vote for Firefly.
If I found ET, what would I do with him? Would you really believe me if I claimed I had found him?
Why would I want to crack a key to get a "Drink more Ovaltine" message?
I can see results on tvvote overnight. I can see that we will be #1. I can make a difference in the standings of my favorite show.
Maybe a few folks will look at the top ten and think, "Firefly? What the #@$k is that? Hmmmm, number one show of all time? Maybe I'll check it out..." And thus another BrownCoat discovers the 'verse.
I want quotes from Serenifly to become as common as quotes from MontyPython in film and on TV. I want the use of those quotes to evoke the image of BrownCoats (as opposed to nerdy geeks that run around quoting Holy Grail ).
And I want a pony and a plastic toy rocket ship...

I'll be back mid-March.

My only worry is that I won't have much internet access when I get back. I'll be fine for the first month but after that I might go on tasking with the Army, Reserve (I'm in the infantry for those who are curious, The Lorne Scots... ok well technically right now Supplementary Reserve but this is a bit complicated so I'll drop it; though tasking does not mean deployment).

After that I'll be moving to Vancouver for some edumacation by September, well hopefully. So we'll just have to wait and see how everything goes.

Just picked up the figures for yesterday

in Fifth place Nikita (172)

IN SECOND PLACE FIREFLY (729)

After 12 consecutive highest scores we are pushed down to second, we really need to keep the rate up to stop the pensioners from getting away from us.
