So we were talking marriage in the last thread and I have an imponderable that relates to that issue in a way. If it has been asked before please forgive. When you are in love do you think you'll know if they are "the one". I know that love takes work and is not at all like a fairy tale but when should any doubts be taken seriously?
"Well, my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle." http://whimsicalnbrainpan.blogspot.com/

That's a very good question, Whims! I think the problem is that everyone's different, so I can only answer it for me. When I should start taking my doubts seriously is when I feel sick. If the doubts are enough to make me so stressed that I'm manifesting it, I should pay attention to them. Whether I do or not... Well, I'm getting better with that. Invariably, though, even if I ignore it when I get to that point, it doesn't make a difference because the end is nigh. At least in my experience so far...

well, i'd be lying if i said i had much by way of comment to offer in the field of marriage or even just serious relationships, but i thought i'd pop in just to say whooja anyway
well, except insofar as deadly serious relationships, but that's a whole 'nother story, for another time and another topic

Forgive me for this and if I blunder any lines but I can't resist:
"Mawwiage. Mawwiage is what bwings us togevah today. Mawwiage, that bwessed awwangement, that dweam...within a dweam."
Seriously, I'm not going to give my thoughts on mawwiage - er, marriage - as I'm not really ready for that yet. I'd be looking more towards dating and getting to know someone first and I haven't had a lot of luck with that either. As Forrest Gump would say, "That's all I have to say about that."
EDIT: I forgot to add this - I'm wondering why this thread keeps hopping between General Discussion and Talk Story. I'd like to ask that we all decide where we'd like it kept and have it posted in one section continuously rather than hopping back and forth - gets kind of confusing to find the new threads. Thanks.

OK... ponder... ponder... ponder...
Nico - I think we did kind of cover this - but more recently so you might not have got up to it yet - but I think I said something along the lines that it matters to me that I make a commitment and include family and friends to not only witness that commitment but commit to supporting 'us' in it as well... I have taken that promise seriously for friends who's weddings I attended and they said they really appreciated that aspect of my friendship... I would be happy to take on my spouses name and the way I feel about it is that it marks the next stage of your life - when you are part of a new neuclear family rather than the one you grew up in... I think I have mentioned that my sister is in a de facto relationship but changed her name to her partner's so that her kids had a sense of 'family identity' ... something that I think gets a little overlooked these days...
Hmmmm... I really don't know about the other aspect Whimsy... although I met someone in my 20s who might have been 'the one' if I had continued on that course - I don't believe I have completely missed my chance of happiness with someone - there must be more than one person in this world of 6,558,135,408 people ( http://www.census.gov/ipc/www/popclockworld.html if you want to check it out - it changes every day...) I know that I have seriously dated men whom I knew in my heart weren't the one... and others whom I wasn't really convinced were and wasn't devastated when they really weren't...
Does that make sense to you?
Hmmmm - the other thing I forgot to ponder was 'breakfast food', sorry my gorgeous MsG I used to party all night in my 20s and one of my favourite things was souvlaki! Greek giro-styel grilled lamb with tomatoes and lettuce and a yoghurt/garlic sauce to die for and all wrapped in flat bread... oh dear... is it right to crave that now..? When I am about to go to bed...

mornin Imponderables.
I think that you can definitely think that someone is "the one" and then have feelings that prove otherwise, and I like PR's description of it manifesting itself physically when there is a problem. I have though I was in love several times, was actually 'in love' with my wife (there were 2 others I was 'in love' with), but recently have admitted to myself and to her that that is no longer the case, as she did with me almost a year ago. I still love and care for her, just the 'in love' part is long gone. We want to get it back though, but that is going to take a lot of work and might alreayd be too late.
McQ - LOL @ mawwiage
magda - mornin babe. You made me hungry with your description. I can only hope that my cheese grits will sate the hunger you created by talking about one of my favorite dishes. :)

I have naught to say on this topic, although I may come up with an answer at some point.
I do have a question that I have yet to find an answer for in the archives, namely: why must females require two or more people to visit the restrooms at any one time? Is it fear of being jumped on the way there? Is it (and this is aimed more at the school kiddies) so that you can share a cigarette or have one person standing watch?

I noticed it James, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and my own wasn't even close to popular with this group.
I do like the idea of a Common Sense political party, but I don't see it happening, as the people and corporations who fund the politicians seem to be staunchly against it.

James... sorry Honey - just didn't think there was much to say... like RIMG said - eveyone is entitled to their opinion, mine is hardly the norm these days I think - but it is just me being true to myself... that's al I think we can ask of one another...

magda - I used to work in a Greek diner and had one almost every day when getting off of work. Very tasty stuff, and sometime I want to actually make it myownself. I am with you on the rare hangovers *knocks wood* and garlic breath is very easily solved by biting down on a lemon or lime, the citric acid takes most of it away instantly.

Good Morning Penguin

How are you enjoying your day off dear one?
I meant to add my vote to the 'please-keep-the-Imponderables-in-the-general-discussion-' ah... what was I saying...?
I like that people have 'shaken things up a bit' lately - but my poor brain can't always take it, especially when I am on in the wee hourrs of the morning here... I think Talk Story and General Discussion tend to be pretty much a similar thing anyway - and I like being able to pop into the pub next door when I'm pondering...
Ah... now... oh - yeah - good night all! Magda x x x
And no worries with the 'planning-of-the-brigade-thing' qing ren
!! I'll be over in about ... oh... 280 days to help some more!
EDIT: coz we posted at the same moment - thank you for the lemon/lime tip RIMG - my mother has an ample supply of both in her garden - though I always used to chew parsley... it really isn't my favourite flavour - I' dmuch rather eat a lemon or lime...

Nico- we go in groups so we can talk about you !! Well not you specifically, but they guys we're with. Strategize if it's a bad date about how to get home quicker or how to drag it out if we're having fun...that sort of thing. Plus sometimes the other girl or girls have something you might need to borrow.
Whimsical- hmmm well I don't think it's a single moment (picture beam of light and sweeling chorus) where you think HE'S THE ONE! It's more a combination of moments and over time you go from the first giddy stages of love to a quiet, deeper connection not so based on your physical "first lust" moment...like when my husband used to get up and scrape my car windshield on frosty morning so I wouldn't have to. It's the little stuff that you start noticing where the other person shows their concern for your happiness and such:)
Ok now I can't remember who brought up the marriage thing, but...I must say this is the first time I have ever felt like the conservative staid one. Obviously I am married and I took my husbands name. In my opinion, the ownership tradition has long since passed from marriage and has just become a set of traditions in a committment to each other. I don't know any married woman who feels owned by her husband and I also don't know any woman who feels she lost her identity when she took her husband's name. I think your name is not your identity and all marriage is is a promise you do your best never to break. Having your father give you away ( which I did) is simply symbolic of you stepping from your family to making your own family with your husband. Just because a ceremony meant one thing 500 years ago doesn't make it mean the same thing now...heck even 100 years can change it. In 1867 the "iron clad oath" was created to force Southerners to demonstrate their loyalty to the United States. They were forced to sign it to keep owning land or to vote...today we call "iron clad oath" The pledge of alliegence and ever school kid recites it as a matter of course as something you say traditionally to show support for your country. The meaning of the oath is totally different...just like the marriage ceremony used to be about ownership and now it's just about committment ( that's just my opinion obviously) I'm going to be out for most of the day. My baby sis is in town for a few short days before returning to her exile in Kirksville,Missouri so I took the day off to spend it with her
BIG HUGS to all:)

On the 'he's the one' ponder... I haven't reached that point yet, so I can't comment. I hope I get hit with it some day.
On marraige - I'm pretty easy about it. It depends very much on my husband-to-be (if I ever meet him!) and what makes us and both our families happy. I'm happy enough to keep my own name, but my name is boring as heck so I'd probably take his if it made me sound more interesting

RIMG, to your question...at this moment in time, just about anything would be a good excuse.
Seriously, though...direct threat to life or liberty (mine or my family's). There are a few other circumstances, but nothing with that clarity comes to mind right now.
(RIMG, I've been looking at screencaps for the Independent's "uniform", and apparently, the best shots are in some of the deleted scenes, so I'll be checking those out when I get home tonight.)

You're having one of those types of days too? Meh.
I would like to think that I would only kill to save my family or myself (if someone tries to kill you, you kill em right back), but I also think there is something dark inside of me that would be ok with killing a "bad" person...
Let me know on the Independents' uniform. I gave away my series, so I can not reference it until I buy another, but I definitely want to put together a few costumes for the brigade (I am thinking that my medic backpack will have to use ice-packs, as most any liquid coolant will be too expensive/hard to come by, and anything that requires a power source may end up being too heavy).

Hi GED, good to see you!
Two things I forgot to answer. 1. Pizza is the perfect breakfast food. 2. It depends on what the guy I'd be marrying name was as to whether I'd take it or not.
I would kill to protect myself or someone I love from harm, without hesitation. I must also admit that there is someone I would (at times) very much like to kill but the state of NC is going to do it for me, although the appeals process is taking forever.
McQ: LOL! I love that part of The Princess Bride.
MSG: He does absolutely sweet things for me like fixing my coffe for me in the morning just the way I like it. I know how much the little things mean and appreciate them. Still there have been doubts lately.

RIMG - Anything the lead me to be absolutely convinced that letting the person live would result in them committing any number of acts such as, but not limited to, rape and murder.
The circumstances of the situation would matter as well. Depending on the intensity of the situation, the disposition of the alleged aggressor, and the constraints of time and space/area, I might kill a person simply for running in my direction.
Also, someone asking me to kill them out of mercy. I could easily be convinced if I thought the person was of sound mind and had good reason to require death.
But the main sentiment is that there is no catch-all way to deal with the issue. Each situation must be approached on a case by case basis. Sun Tzu would tell us to consider the Tao, the General, Heaven, Earth, and the laws before committing to violence.

...and back to the pondering!
What would lead me to take a life? Well, I tend to shun violence when I can, but if someone was in immediate danger I'd kill if I had to. I'm not saying I'd be happy with doing it or I'dbe proud of myself, but if it comes down to a choice between someone getting murdered or killing the potential murderer then I know which side I'm on.
Unless I was stuck in an immediate kill-or-be-killed situation, I don't think I'd kill if Ireland went to war with another country. I wouldn't refuse to join the army, because it's not acceptable to me for someone to have to take my place in that kind of a situation, but I would do my level best not to have to fire a weapon. Quite franky, I'd rather be on the front lines doing something that helped people, like search and rescue, than somewhere cushy and safe holding a weapon.
Anything else...? Hm... can't think of anything right now. Maybe if I was in a hostage situation, I'd try to kill the person who'd kidnapped me. My first choice would be trying to talk my way out of it, but if the person is violent or there are others involved then I'll do what it takes without hesitation. And here's hoping I never have to deal with any of those situations!
EDIT: Good point, CMH, forgot about mercy killing.
GED's back! Hey everybody! GED's back! *hugs GED*

So I've been pondering this idea of "the one" for a while now and have come to a few conclusions.
Personally, I'm not sure if there is only a single person out there for each of us. I mean, if there was only one person in this entire world that we were destined to be with, how could we find that single individual that we are "supposed" to be with in a world of 6.7 billion people? And what happens if you find "the one" and they pass away. Do you then find another "one?" But if the person you were with before was truly the one, then there can't be another. This is something that happens, but people end up remarrying and having happy lives with their new significant other. The idea of "the one" is quite a romantic idea, but I feel it's highly unlikely; especially so since we practice serial monogamy here in the West and not strict monogamy. Now, that doesn't mean that you can't *make* someone your "one." In fact, I think that's what we do. There are a lot of people in the world that I could get along with, have common interests, have chemistry with, and be in love with. There are a lot of good people in the world. The designation of a person as "the one" is just that - a designation. But it is a special designation as it signifies their meaning to you. It places them in a special position/role in your life and you place great value and importance on them. To me, "the one" isn't so much the single one all and be all person in the whole universe. It's more of the way I would treat my significant other... as if she were the only one in the universe for me.
Now I just gotta find her...

[grin] Is that Vera's little sister?
Thanks though. I've been feeling a bit out of it recently, make that completely out of it, but I feel up to a bit of pondering now though. Don't have much input on marriage, except for perhaps sharing current family troubles.
My sister is 6 months pregnant and she and her partner, who have been together 16 years, have decided to formalise it for the sake of the twins. But they don't really believe in the institution and feel awkward about it so are keeping it as low key as possible. To the extent that she hasn't invited my sister because she comes with a whole family attached. My mum is now terrified that this will start a family feud. I'm not sure whether to bow out to help smooth over the situation or go and see her get married. I can see now why she's been avoiding it. Seems to be bringing nothing but trouble!

They are doing it for the sake of their children, not their families. Everyone has to understand that them making it official is ultimately about the two folks involved. It seems to be a bit selfish of them to leave their families out, but isn't it more selfish for the families to force their way in to the ceremony?
It seems few will be left happy within this situation. I guess just congatulate them on their decisions for us Browncoats.

I'm sure it'll all work out. I'm just concentrating on preparing my indoctrination campaign to recruit the boys when they're born. I have one little Jayne hat knitted already, just the other to go now.

I truly believe there are a multitude that could be the One for you. Trick is finding the right one for you. I believe he is out there. I cannot for a moment believe that such a sweet soul (you virtually ooze honey--that really sounded better in my head...) and so bright a smile, doesn't have a noble sitting in his carriage admiring you from afar. Hi Emma! Sounds like a bit of a connundrum with the family issues, but I am sure you will get it taken care of, and I definitely second the motion for pictures of little ones in Jayne hats.

Both fair points, but let me just ask a question.
Why do these 'new life, new family' events only apply to women?
Very rarely, if ever, does a man take his new wife's name as a symbol of leaving his family behind and starting a new family with her. And never have a I heard of a man being given away. I said I wasn't trying to start an argument, and I meant it, but it's just something to consider.
Circumstances that could lead to me taking the life of another human being? If I were threatened, and it was kill or be killed (or raped; either one would doubtless prompt me to fight like a maniac) I would do everything I could to make sure I survived. Likewise if tried to kill or seriously damage someone I loved, I would do everything I could to stop it. I wouldn't want to, but I would not sit idly by and let it happen if I had any recourse.
And if I ran across certain people who had already damaged some folk who are very dear to me... I might be tempted. I would probably just walk away, though, what with the possible prison time and all that.
Hi Ged!
We've all missed you here!I've been pondering 'the one' question, too, and I think it really means 'the only person I could see myself being with'. That doesn't have to stay that way, especially if said person passes away, but it can be very powerful. If someone is really and truly the only person you can see yourself with right now, they are 'your one'. This has happened to me once, and it took me some time to be okay with the idea of being with someone else. I had to get over 'the one' before I could find another... er, one. Okay, I'm confusing myself, so I'll just stop here.
Emma! *hugs Emma big hugs* I've missed you so!
It's nice to see some old familiar faces coming back.
Sorry to hear there's some drama in your family right now. If they don't want a big production, that's something I can totally respect, and they should be able to go sign the license and move on. If they feel it's what they should do for their children (I'd be curious to hear why) then that's all it should be about.
That's one of the things with marriage; too many people make a big deal about it. It should be a bigger deal to move in together and share a home and a life, but usually families don't make a big deal about moving day. It's very strange to me.
I'm sure it will be okay in the end. As always, best wishes to your sis and daddy and their little ones! Can't wait to see the wittle Jayne hats.

Folks are looking for "The One"? Gee, I thought Neo was the one? Didn't we learn anything from the Matrix, people?
Seriously, I have to agree with tristan about if there's one person meant for us and considering how many people occupy the Earth, then how can we be sure to find them? Just because there may be "someone out there for everyone" doesn't mean they'll be nearby. Many of you may have tried long-distance or online relationships and it's not long before you realize that the distance between you and the other person takes it's strain. You miss them, want to be with them, but can only see what they type on the computer, what they say on the phone or see them on their webcams - it's not the same. I speak from experience. I don't know how someone is to know when they met the one. I thought I did at one point but obviously I was wrong or I'd still be with them.
What would it take for me to consider taking someone else's life? Well, I'm a very non-violent type so it would take something very extreme. If someone did me or someone I care very deeply for serious, personal harm. Believe it or not, there have been times where I wanted to rip someone's lungs out but thankfully it hasn't come to that. Good stuff for pondering.

Know that we are here for you Honey!
Q
... Honey am so sorry - I totally forgot to say thank you for making me grin like an idiot when you quoted from 'The Princess Bride' I love that film - it's one of my pick me up movies and was perfect for this Imponderance!
I've missed seeing you around more too Sweetie!
Emma!!
I am so glad to see you - you will not believe how much you have been in my thoughts, and I am hoping that these [drama's mean that your sister's pregnancy is going well... I've been keeping you in my heart and in my prayers too Honey!
Ged
- I do hope you'll be around in our world a lot more - you have been seriously missed! Please stay...
Hi Little Albatross

NVG
I know you're a big warrior and all - but it's huggles all round today!!
Glad to see you - hope you're staying 'sane'...
Johnny Q
Wow - you really know how to make a girl feel special don't you??
thank you for your incredibly sweet comments... did you notice that my 'French Maid's Costume' photo was taken in 1988 though?
I wish I looked that good in a short skirt now!!
Tristan... Just...
I was offering to be 'caught up with' and I have a plentiful supply of '3 day kisses' in hot and heady Australia so... I guess if all you desire is the occassional 'quicky' with DTH... go for it!
I honestly cannot say under which circumstances I would be prepared to take a human life - if ever... I am very much a Kaylee, and am so glad that Joss has the insight to write a character like her who cannot pull the trigger when it comes to the moment of decision... but having said that, if a child in my care or for whom I cared was at risk or had been unforgiveably harmed - I think I would have both the wrath and lack of concern for what it might mean to me to do so...
Catch you all later...

To answer my own question (though I did a little when replying to Tristan above) I would kill in a kill-or-be-killed situation, or if anyone was threatening harm of any kind upon my family. There are also several people I know in my personal life that this 'verse would be better off without, and I have seriously contemplated how to pull it off without getting caught (my wife watches a lot of forensic shows, and we also watch Dexter on Showtime, both of which have given me all kinds of ideas).
magda - I meant to comment on the French maid outfit, which was dead sexy. If Tristan won't take you up on the 3day

When you are in love do you think you'll know if they are "the one". I know that love takes work and is not at all like a fairy tale but when should any doubts be taken seriously?

Ok I've got a simple ponderence :
Do you wear a favorite perfume or cologne ? I find that most people stick with a certain scent most of the time . My sense of smell is my strongest sense, so it's something I think about.

Hello Little Albatross
! I am about sweetheart and I just sent you another email!!!
Mind you it's getting on for 3am so I might make this my last one for tonight!
What a terrific ponderance... a true male/female one too I think...
My everyday fragrance is a Body Shop scented oil called 'Japanese Musk'... I have worn it for years and it is fresh and subtle but very me! When I go out I love to wear 'Paris' though I am almost out of it - I might have to get some duty free next year!!! Also friends brought me 'Tendre Poison' when I house sat for them last year and I really love it! I wore it this weekend to a friends 40th party! I am not a fan of the heavier 'Poison' on me - actually a lot of perfumes don't seem to have the right scent on me... but the lighter, semi floral ones usually do!
RIMG
- it's interesting to know that guys use the full range of toiletries with their favourite fragrances - I have owned (but now run out of) Paris soap, body lotion, talc... the works! I used to love the layering of the fragrance which meant it stayed true to it's intended scent and remained fresh!
Ah Tristan
that it will be my qing ren! That it will be...
But I must get me to my bed... goodnight dear Imponderers - Hi to MsG, Phoenix Rose and anyone else I missed! Hugs to Q and... oh ... everyone!! Goodnight!!

Hi all:) Yesterday was great. Spent tons of time with my baby sis. took the babies to the zoo( wait til you see the cute pics of them holding hands as they toddled around. Every time we tried to separate them Annie would cry and stretch her hands to Wyatt and call " help me" in her little lispy voice. It was sooooo cute!)
Ok the question of when I would take a life. I'd have to agree with CMH completely. His list pretty much encompassed the situations/events where I would.
Scent- I have a few allergies so I'm not a big fan of most perfumes. I do however love single note perfumes ( available at demeter.com) my absolute fav is sugar cane, but I also like honey. I do love Bath and Body Works stuff and have Vanilla Bean, Apple Blossom, and Coconut Lime Verbena:)
Night my mgda- love you big sis. Sleep well

Vinterdraken, I understand a little of how that feels, to be heartbroken every time you lose someone. I've gone through it a few times. You are not alone
And also it's very good to see you again!
As to scents, I'm boring, I wear rose oil. Tea rose, to be exact. I also have China lilly, lilac, mango, peach, and a lighter rose scent called Venus Rose that I will sometimes wear; the light fruits and florals smell very good on me. Sometimes I will mix just a dab of cedar oil with my rose and that smells surprisingly good on me since I don't tend to do well with the spicier smells.
My nose is extremely sensitive and I simply cannot be around someone if they are wearing too much traditional perfume or cologne. And I can't get 'close' with anyone who's wearing any at all; the chemical smell in it will give me an itchy nose and sometimes a throbbing headache. So I wear oils and like anyone I'm around to be wearing oils, too. I do have a friend who can somehow pull off hints of the traditional perfume, but I think she's an anomoly. Something in her skin neutralizes the chemical or something, it's very strange.
I simply adore scent. Finding the ones that smell right on you is just so much fun for me, and I'm fascinated by how different people can wear different scents well.

I'm swooning here thinking of all you wonderful smelling Browncoat men. I love when a man smells nice.
RIMG - I'm not familiar with the Axe products, but I'll take the side of your female coworkers & assume thatit smells yummy on you.I'll seek it out next time i'm shopping !
EDIT : It's something that fascinates me too PR. My skin doesn't keep traditional perfume. I could put on a whole botttle and 10 minutes later nothing. But oils work & don't have that chemical smell that bothers my nose too.

I am more-or-less the same. Once you get past the early flirtation, if you don't think they could be 'the one' (though I don't believe there is only one; maybe 'one of the few' would be better) than what are you doing with them? You can be friends but don't take them down a road if you're not prepared for the whole journey.
On a similar topic, and I know we have a few experienced members on this board, as a logicial reverse to this discussion: divorce? What happens when you find out they're not 'the one'?
Personally, I believe in something a little closer to... well... I'm not sure. Let's say everyone has an 'aura' that is something more than sound, smell, taste, sight... all the senses combined and made out of everything we are. Basically, your essence, soul, spirit. I also believe that we are constantly changing (which is arguably fact) and thus so is our aura.
While many times once you have found 'the one' your auras have brought you so close that you continue in the same direction... sometimes it just doesn't work out. I believe that more divorces end up in worse state than necessary (not that there is anything I nor we can do to change that, it could simply be human nature, not dealing with change and all).
Personally, while I have not been in many relationships (as I said I tend not to go far unless I really feel the love... in my heart) they have all ended well. Simply a parting of ways. Our auras met, we went a ways together, our auras changed (or realised weren't so compatible to begin with), we parted (though stayed friends). Whether that will continue I do not know, but I hope so.

And if someday on some little piss-ant moon/My hand is a little too slow, or my aim a little bit off/At least I’ll go down fighting, not lying abed surrounded by quacks - "Sir Warrick" by Geezer

AS far as the "one " goes I think I have been rather lucky.
I met my husband when I was 15 and he was 16.Since then thruogh good times & even the bad some of you recently saw me through , he's my one & only.We were each other's first everything back then & then spilt up for 4 years.I dated then but as soon as we were put in the same room again we were back together. That was 14 years ago & I'm still in love with him.i'm not saying there might not be another "one " in my future but from what I know he's the " one ".
Of course this is the only area of my life that ever went so smooth !

Scent? I feel a bit funny having to say this. When I get off work GND says I smell good. I don't wear anything but deodorant (I love the powerstripe by the way). I think it may be the smell of tobacco. I usually have a cigarette after work. I feel funny saying this because I've been able to push her to the back of my mind. TPage, I really admire your viewpoints and agree completly. If you don't think you can or will stay with someone, what's the point? Obviously, it doesn't always happen, but I always wonder about that thing of "Well, I'm not going to be with them forever, but I like them for now." Never got that, I must say. Well, I mean, I got it, but I never got it. I could never feel that way myself is I guess what I'm saying. I remember the first guy I dated I had the thought "This is kind of a test, dipping my toes in the dating pool; I'm not going to be with him forever or even for long. He's not what I need and I'm not what he wants." As soon as I had that thought, I ended it. Everyone else I've been with (a whole two people) after that have generally had the "I could see myself being with you for awhile" thoughts in their direction.
I wish that mine had ended as well as yours, though...

CMH, I had forgotten Jet Li!
Hey, are you going to get around to telling us about the weekend?!?

Eventually, Tristan. Things have been hectic the past couple of days. Right when I was leaving VA, I turned on my cel phone to find a message that a friend of mine may have been gunned down. It turns out that he wasn't, but he needed to crash at my place for a little while. And because he was here, I didn't have time to unpack, clean, etc. I'll get back in the swing of things soon. Thanks for showing so much interest, though, I had a really great time.

Place my body on a ship and burn it on the sea,
Let my spirit rise, Valkyries carry me.
Take me to Valhalla where my brothers wait for me.
Fires burn into the sky, my spirit will never die.

CMH, no problem. Sorry to hear about the troubles, but glad it seems alright.
I am just looking forward to it...the brief message when you got back indicated you may have had a good time!

Just waiting for the pics CMH. Guys are visual, remember.
Thanks MSG. I might have to pick the kid up this afternoon. I hate "those" rides. Really lonely the last week. Not much contact with anyone outside of family. Didn't get to work on decoys this weekend because one of the tech.s couldn't make it in. So I'll be playing catchup this weekend with little incentive other than the money I might make.
As for this thing about stating my real feelings lately, it seems to be working alot better than holding it in. I just hope there ain't too much mind changin' by GND before she gets back. Really sucks that I gotta wait another week, but maybe its for the best.
Off to lunch. I found Battlefield 2 for eight bucks in the pawn shop at Silver Springs. Probably gonna game for thirty minutes or so during lunch.
See y'all in a bit.

JQ, I kinda lost respect for that series after the 2nd movie...
NVG, all manner of things will be well with GND. Just keep that happy thought in your mind. A week is not that long to wait.

NVG - Found this on the way to finding another quote. Might be a little late now as it sounds as though there be inroads where there weren't none before (nice thing about 4 wheelin'), and if it is the case, then take it as reassurance of what you now know to be true. Elsewise, take it as the encouragement it was originally intended to be: Jump in, son, the water's fine.

Edit:
Tristan - I think everyone lost it after that. But didn't "IV" pretend that "III" never happened? (Same route taken by Halloween)

ok CMH- now I'm really curious. Did I miss a battle of some kind? Can't wait to hear stories of this weekends adventures. It'll take my mind off the horrors of antiquing and chick flicks with my sisters that I have coming up...
NV- Hey think of it as building anticipation( sidenote : it is always best to wait until you are in a private room without other people before beginning the ripping off of clothes)
Oh there's a ponderable. Why do people love shopping??? I like buying ( especially online where I can find what I want, grab it, and go and not have to diddle around...what exactly is the attraction of going to 12 different stores and looking at, trying, on 100 things and then maybe buying one thing??
