My .02 plat on GND right now is to point out this view -- You are doing something. You're waiting for whatever it is (somewhere in your subconcious senses) to happen. Good, bad, or indifferent, some part of you knows something's gonna happen and so you're waiting for it. (An' if you tell me that waiting is "doing nothing" then you're focusing on the wrong part.

Traveler: Kudos to you, your sister, and your nieces for being able to care for your mom. From a person on the sidelines (paternal grandfather had Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, cousin's paternal grandmother has Alzheimer's) it's a really challenging issue to deal with.

It must be where I grew up and went to school that to single a person out because of looks, behavior, or any other physical means would have been on the far side of stupid. (Went to a school where the majority of the kids were considered "minorities" or were "foreign".)

Okay, large rosebush with long thorns *shudder*. Scary. As for the spraining of ankles -- been there, done that so many times its sad (even done it while I was walking in a straight line!). My story for that is that my ankle(s) went on vacation and forgot to let the rest of me know. (Bunch of times that's happened, I've sat for a few minutes swearing, then get up and s-l-o-w-l-y walk to where ever it is I'm going because going forward is about the same distance as going back.)
I'm not sure what the worst physical hurt was/is. I started typing and it reads like I'm accident prone.

For the comment on mourning death as being a sort of competition -- the whole thing is simply so foreign to me that 
. Maybe it's a mainland thing, because I don't remember ever seeing something like that where I live. Most of the funerals I've gone to is to mourn the loss of our loved one or as "support" for the family. I've gone as a mourning family member, as a friend of someone in the family as a "support" for them, or as a representative for a group that the deceased belonged to.
If the whole "everyone comes out for a huge funeral" is what is meant as being a competition for attention thing, *shrug*. It's been said somewhere that the funeral service is for the living, becase the dead don't care. If someone is there to make a "show" out of it, that's their issue not mine.
....suddenly I'm feeling old with all this serious discussion...did anyone see where all the BDH clones went?
