To Recap: There's a pj party going on, where many pillows and mini-marshmallows are being thrown, a pool full of jello is being used for wrestling purposes and at the end of our last thread, a team of dangerous penguins were let loose, about to cause all kinds of havoc. Oh yeah, and we discussed ideas for a discussion thread.

I have my ticket, but I need to see if I get the days off before I go ahead and book a room of my own somewhere. The ticket I can probably hock somewhere. There's a $20 fee for changes, but by the time I'd be bailing my price would look good.

I was hoping to drive down and back. I have a cousin in Atlanta who is expecting twins this summer. We just found out! It would make popping in on her a lot easier if I had my own transportation with me. There's another nurse at work who thought the trip sounded good enough to carpool and do her own thing. Trying to spring 2 nurses for the weekend plus a couple days is probably pushing it though.

OY!! You in the evening wear! Put the flaming s'more down slowly and nobody gets turned into seal bait.

'morning everyone. I thank y'all for the giggles and please forgive me for not giving everyone hugses as I'm both very tired and rather annoyed at the moment.
"We couldn't get it to act up" are the most frustrating words ever spoken by man. Now I'm up early after staying up late because I went in to pick up my car which I thought was going to be fully functional, only to find that it was not.
Went and got it at closing time. They told me to swing by if it ever acted up (but only while they were open of course) so of course I couldn't turn around and go back when, about halfway home, my spedometer dropped to zero and just stayed there until I pulled into my street. Much seething ensued...
Anyway, here's hoping it can get fixed soon. I'm always worried now I'll get pulled over while it's not working and then I won't be believed that it wasn't working or something.
I hope everyone had a much better day than I did.

My day did get a bit better. I saw my qing ren, and I chatted with many of my favorite people in Haven and I chatted with Yorik who I haven't gotten to see much and he made me a shiny sig! Isn't it shiny? I keep missing my jie jie, though! I didn't see her at all last night! She was only able to get on briefly at her folks' house; the place she's staying seems to have a few modem issues. She texted me to say it was like losing her voice, not being able to get online.
So, send plenty of love to magda and know she's missing us all

I went through the same thing with the dealership when Dora wouldn't start a few months ago. They checked it over and over and couldn't see why she was shorting out and wouldn't start occasionally. I got stranded at grocery stores, work, you name it.

Ya Moron, I can't bring it in if it don't start now can I???

Luckily, someone figured it out after 6 tries at the dealership.
Keep breathing. Cars are a necessary evil.

Can the mechanic give you "a note" that you could keep in your car explaining that the spedometer is malfunctioning and that they are trying to diagnose it? Could keep you from getting a speeding ticket.

Good luck PR...though you may wish to check your gas tank for a golf ball ( sounds weird I know, but it will cause a problem only when the car has driven a long distance and then when you stop, the car will go right back to working fine)

I'm getting kinda scared about this whole Tristan thing. First we end up rooming together at D*C and now our birthday's are back to back. It's just weird is all. I find myself waiting to see what the next commonality is, besides our deep and abiding belief in the principles of non-chauvanistic chivalry and of course the whole FireflyFan thing. At least I'm not in the 76th!! (like that's a good thing?)

I have been watching Firefly in Spanish. It's really entertaining, actually. And from my limited knowledge of the language, they actually did a decent job of translating. And they even left in some of the Chinese! Those voice workers, whoever they were, are quite good.
