A few notes; BSG has been cracking 500 pretty regularly; now and again they outvote Xena! Pretty impressive.

Lexx... nice record vote today. Most predictions have been that Roswell would pass QaF before Lexx would; however, if the trends continue as of the past week, Lexx will pass QaF first. I will also note that at this vote rate a, staying in the top10 is pretty much a sure thing at current voting trends.

While not on the charts above, Buffy has been doing well lately; averaging more votes than all the shows behind her, except BSG and showing potential to move up a few slots if they keep the voting up.

On the nomination side, Mr Rogers is close to moving into the "top 100" of the nomination list.

Little House continues to storm up toward the top40, and Combat is not far behind. Space 1999 seems to be the only other show with enough votes to make a credible top40 run at the moment.

I was thinking the same thing. I was also lurking over there and it seems they've gotten organized with other westerns and are voting a western block. We will have to keep a close eye on them over the next couple of weeks to see if this improves their voting. Do we have a deal with BSG as well as Lexx, if so I need to start voting for them?

If I haven't said it before, Thanks Flyvote, your dedication is admired and appreciated

I still want to use Valentine's day as a promotion. I took note of Derangedmilk's protest about people doing other stuff on VD, but what if we push for a specific target at that time, say 160 000. Then every day until VD is a big voting day, and our gift of love is the total of 160 000, not the target of 2000 on the day. We then tally end of day 13/02/2007 (or for the Americans 02/13/2007). VD is just such a widely known and emotively charged day, that it would be a shame to let it go by without using some of that love-power.

If I don't here objections I'll start contacting some other Browncoat groups. Have been meaning to do it anyway for a while now and this way at least I'll have something more to say than "Hey! Vote for Firefly, You know you want to....."

It seems as thought the intensity of this thread has definitely increased. We're pushing record numbers, Bonanza is forging an alliance with other western shows and creeping up on 800. We've got to find a way to get more Browncoats voting, contacting other groups and posting on other boards. We need to see if there are any other scifi shows that will allign themselves with us (I haven't seen anything about the poll on any Star Trek pages, even though 4 of the 5 series are in the top 40). I also agree agree with Canter that we need to organize another vote day, but I still think doing it on a holiday is a bad idea. I say we aim for Adam Baldwin's b-day.

I think that Milk's point is that there is enough to do for your second love (wife/hubby/girlfriend/boyfriend) that you don't want to be distracted by a concentrated effort to vote for your first love (Firefly).

I wonder how I missed that deal. I've been voting for Lexx, so next time I vote I will add BSG to my list. Thank you!!!

I also agree that Adam's Birthday would be a better day to push for a big vote.

On another topic, do you think all this voting and talk between us and Bonanza has gotten any of them to watch our show. I mean, I've actually been thinking about checking out an episode of Bonanza if it's on, just to see what all the fuss is about. I even saw a thread over at Bonanzaworld.net talking about "tight pants". Well, IMO, even if there is no reward other than pride for the voting it was worth it if we can bring a little of the 'verse to others.

That is more or less what I was getting at, although I thought your intention was to have it on Valentine's day not the day before. Were it to be on the actually holiday I know that I will vote when I can but I will (as may be many others) be out that evening with that "second love." It may not technically be a holiday but I know that I will be much more focused on my girlfriend and definitely not voting constantly in front of her or asking her to vote from her computer for once. She puts up with a lot so on V-day, even though she is number one in my mind everyday, she'll get treated like it.

I don't think there's a reason to be scared, the fans of Bonanza simply stole your programme, they didn't find new allies. That's what I think. Gunsmoke also got an increase of 50 votes and those came from the Bonanzans voting for them in my opinion.
Yes, Lexx will now hold in top 10, thanks to you! I just hope the programme doesn't get spread to all the shows so they dont't have the same advantage!
I'm in for a sci-fi block, but I don't think it's gonna work, at least not with Lexx. I'm extremely happy that I convinced you to have the deal, but other shows like Farscape and La Femme Nikita refused it.
Besides I'm not sure if lexxians will agree to vote for another show besides Firefly. We can vote for you, because you're way above and you were so kind to give us the programme, but we won't be so kind to BSG, which I think we may stand a chance again. Perhaps not now, but who knows in 150 days, when they're supposed to catch us...
So for now we're keeping the Firefly deal and waiting to see what happens :) By the way our main actor Brian Downey has promiced a big party if we get into top 5, so we won't it badly as well :)

Flyvote, maybe you should put the Ballad of Serenity on the Flyvote program that plays over and over again, even when hidden. So if other groups do steal the program at least they'll have a decent theme tune to listen to

Wow...that would be hilarious. I guess the only problem is they'd just go back and use the older version of the program. Still, great idea! To see the look on some bonanza fan's faces (what are they called? cartwrights? cowpokes?).....makes me happy just thinking about it.

There are functions in the MS IDE to take direct control of laptop speakers so even if the system is muted, the song will play

I have to go party now....just couldn't resist a quick look in to say hi!

I've got this very funny image of hundreds of non-Firefly fans singing over and over to themselves "Take my love, take my land, take me where I cannot stand......" because the song got stuck in their heads after listening to it the whole day....

Maybe we should confess that flyvote is in fact a clever virus that only allows votes for firefly, and that, when used, a vote for firefly is registered, notwithstanding the button pressed.

It seems that there is some consensus on 27 February as the next voting day. I'll fall in with that and start spreading the news. Wouldn't it be great if we could get 2000 on that day? Impossible? I don't think so.....
