Once upon a time, many moons ago (May last year, actually) there was a poster called THERIGHTSTUFF.

This poster was... how do I put this gently... this poster was nuttier than a truckload of fruitcakes. Saying that he was a fanatical right-wing Christian conservative is a bit like describing the ocean as wet.

Needless to say, THERIGHTSTUFF didn't take too kindly to the opinions of most posters here. In order to convince the worst of the error of their ways, he started a thread listing all the posters that were "forsaken" - destined to burn in hell for their many, wicked sins.

On any other forum he would have been flamed or ignored. But this is FFF.net, and we'll take any excuse for a party. So the Forsaken started a thread to celebrate their new found status.

And since the Forsaken included some of the funniest, wittiest and most intelligent posters on the board, other posters asked to join the list.

Finally, the list became so long a regular party-thread was born. And every time a new thread was started more posters (myself included) wandered in to see what all the fuss was about and decided to join in the fun.

I love the wings, but if I got such an extensive tat my mom would have a stroke:) So I'll stick the the few tiny celtic symbols I have and the Firefly/serenity symbol I'm getting :)

I just loved the idea of us flitting around with our wings, hair blowing in the breeze all mythic and ethereal:)

Nah, they really are pretty simple, Versy. Just straightforward image switching for the most part. Which is why most of them are so choppy. And I *really* need to repair the River/Reaver Fight one to get rid of those white flashing lines that pop up in the middle...

I'm still pretty stuck for time, but I hope to get quite a bit of animating done this weekend. I've a few projects I'm way behind on!

The Saffron one is actually one of my favourites. It just came to me out of nowhere. Still, I love the Willow/Tara ones because I'm a big Buffy fan and really liked those characters. Plus they did the prettiest looking spells in season four of the show.

No, really! I got some software free with a web design magazine and just messed around with it! It's really easy! I don't even have all that much image editing capability. It's not nearly so difficult to use as photoshop.

PhoenixRose - try www.gimp.org - it's basically a free version of photoshop that can also do animations. And because it's free there are dozens of tutorials on the site telling you how to do fancy things. Geekmafia uses it for his stuff all the time. You can check his banners and animations out at http://midknight.wilson.googlepages.com

I'm using Serif Draw Plus 5. There's info about it on www.serif.com - they're up to 8 or something now, which is why I got 5 free.
