Looking at the chart there seems to be days when every shows votes take a dip. Why is that?

Is it early vote count? A Sunday? Is there a pattern?

Just wondering as if we find out the cause we can make sure we push extra hard on that day and then when Xena and Bonanza take a dip we can seize the chance to close the gap.

Looks like the Xena fans have decided that when they hit 250,000 votes, they enter the "Hall of Fame". (See http://www.ausxip.com/ )

I guess the question is how long their push will last. So far we've already outlasted everyone's expectations, pulling into the top 5, and now the top 3, with 2nd place in site. Even if Xena gets 250k before us, and that's not definite, I reckon we can still take them.

Well said. We know that we can stay in this for the long haul but I think Xena has proven they cannot sustain high numbers for lengthy periods of time. They may even spike again in the next few weeks but for now, I see their numbers slowly declining back to normal levels and us continue to push well above 1K.

Ayce: I put a button on FlyVote 2.0 for the breast cancer awareness site. When you promote the vote, if you promote the TV_Vote site directly you will likely get people to vote a few times before they forget about it. The habit might be tough to start. But if you also promote the FlyVote program, you can point out that FlyVote does the work of remembering the hourly vote interval. Plus it has the TVTally vote button and the breast cancer awareness button.

I think it will be better for our numbers to get people that vote using the reminder program. FlyVote likely accounts for at least a little nudge in the numbers.

(I'm listening to suggestions and working toward FlyVote 2.1 in my spare time.)

Already done, direct link and I also copied all the links from the top of this page for Flyvote and even gave the link to this thread so they could check for updated versions. Flyvote counts for a lot more than a little nudge mate.

Of course it's Cincinnati, so that just means there's white stuff hitting the ground and not melting instantly. You'd think it was Reavers from the way everyone is freaking out.
They say 3-6 inches, so I'm thinking closer to 2, or 12. They always miss big to either side.
It's been predicted for the last 3 days. Sorta like the hurricane that smacked New Orleans. Folks here are no better prepared for it than New Orleans was...

I watched many shows from the top 40 list, but that was before I discovered richlabonte.net. I will check out Xena one day, exactly as you say, just to see what's the fuss about her. But I will never watch Bonanza or Gunsmoke even if they get ten times the fuss Xena gets. They are just too far from my taste.

Out of curioisty, I went and checked out the competition. Turns out that Xena and Bonanza have about the same web presence as we do, even though their fandoms are undoubtably more numerous. I checked some web metrics sites (Quantcast, Alexa, etc) and found that the main Xena and Bonanza fan sites have about the same amount of traffic as fireflyfans.net. True, there are other sites all the fans visit. The scifi.com boards are apparently where a lot of everyone's fans hang out.

For the Xena crowd, the effort to get out the vote goes back a year and a half. I grabbed this from a Xena site, from an old message, just when the Xena crowd was massing at richlabonte.net.

Unfortunately that weapon could easily be put to use by the enemy. Nice intro to the numbers today flattop. Lets break a new record today folks, we were only 60 short yesterday. ONLY 60!!! Anyway, I did a little google search for "fireflyfans.net" b/c I'm in a computer lab right now and don't have the luxury of the site opening up as soon as I open my browser. The bottom result on the front page was a post by yours truely over on the scifi.com forums calling for the browncoats overthere to join the effort. Cool stuff.

Good to see we're still gaining on them. Passing Bonanza should come soon enough, though I'm kinda disappointed that it's going to take 2/3 of a year to catch up to Xena at this rate. Maybe their numbers will drop back down to the 500-800 range so we can overtake them in a couple months like it used to be. Before this sudden spike of theirs...
