Xena have taken it to the next level.

All we can do is keep voting away as we are doing and get as many as possible. I think once Xena get 250k their voting numbers will fall back down to the 700-800.

Y'all:

We were voting in the 400-500 range less than six months ago. Right now the Xena fans have gathered steam. Perhaps the Bonanza fans will be next. Or not. I commend the fans of Xena for getting that show to #1, and the fans of Bonanza for getting that show to #2.

We got ourselves to #3 in those months from a position near #10. That is pretty shiny. We bumped our votes from 400-500 to 1000-1200, gorram great!

We want to be #1. Before or after Xena's push to 250k, it doesn't matter. We aren't bashing other shows to get there. We are showing that we are mighty.

We need to recruit and spread the word. Not just of the vote, but of Firefly. We need to be persistent about finding ways to solicit the help of Browncoats, and of people that don't yet realize that they are Browncoats.

We are not going to give up. This signal will not be stopped.

Even though Xena's flexed her muscles, we came out with a nice showing today. As long as we keep these numbers up we'll easily catch up to Bonanza. Although it now looks like catching Xena before 250,000 is close to impossible (though we've done the impossible before), I think their numbers will eventually settle back down, especially after they hit the 250,000 mark.

So keep on getting out there and voting!

Greetings to all. This is my first post to this forum. However,I've been reading this thread and voting for Firefly for some time now(only for Firefly,unless directed to vote for other shows involved in an alliance). I've been lucky in that I can vote from home during the day, and from work at night. I'm also suffering withdrawal from lending out my dvd set for the first time. So this helps some. I'll keep voting(TV Tally too) and spreading the word as I can.

Actually, they didn't retreat after Thermopylae--they kept right on invading. But things would have gone better if they'd done it your way: they were defeated by a Greek coalition (including a number of Spartans) at Plataea two years later.

I was excited to hear that a movie about the battle is coming out soon, however, after seeing a trailer it looks terrible. It was made by the people who did sin city and looks like a comic book, full of idiotically unrealistic characters and excessively stupid violence. Its called 300.
What a dissapointment. If only it was done like Gladiator, it'd be amazing.

Yeah, it does look heavy on the sepia tones (to make it feel old I imagine), and now that you mention it; the X-Men movies were less comic bookish. Telling it more realistically (ala Gladiator, Troy, maybe even Kingdom of Heaven (We're talking about real live no

Frank Miller is the name you are looking for and IMO, 300 looks damn cool. As far as making it like Gladiator, that would be a mistake. Go original just like they did.

Oh and BTW, the movies are suppose to look like a comic book. And just like dark comic books, they have "unrealistic characters and excessively stupid violence". To each their own.

No disrespect, but it is based on a comic book, "300" by Frank Miller (which is why it looks like Sin City). Don't know if you're a graphic novel fan--if so, you must get 300; it's amazing. I, for one, am really looking forward to the movie, because the battle is of historical interest to me, but more so because I heart Frank Miller's work the most.

Just had to get a non-poo-pooing voice in.

Do you guys feel that if Xena beats us to 250K and then stops voting almost altogether claiming victory that they'll have it if though we will be the second to get to 250K and eventually take first place? Simply b/c they accomplished there goal and then stopped.

My thoughts exactly. Our daily average for the duration, shows how well we've done. Maybe we should set a daily goal, like say, 1500. Even if we don't make that goal, the pursuit of it will produce good numbers for us. And if we do make it, we can set it higher. The rest will take care of itself.
I wouldn't count on any significant decrease in numbers from the xenites once they hit 250,000. Not with us gaining on them.
