Firstly....I'm just passing this along from a myspacer:
"SFX is running an online poll for best SF movie. Sometimes movie studio executives notice stuff like this, so a high ranking for Serenity in this poll might help keep it in their minds, which might help convince them to greenlight a sequel (most likely direct-to-DVD). This is just one of many small things we can do to try to help push things along; every little bit helps..."

I just cast my vote. I noticed that Serenity is officially ahead of Star Wars by I think less than a point. Star Wars is so wide spread in its popularity that I think most of its fan would never vote for it beacuse of its assumed dominance. That's why Serenity, as the underdog, actually has a better chance. Browncoats are proactive!

On March 17 at 12:09 CST it was Serenity 39% Star Wars 38%. Lets face in it's day Starwars was incredible. I was there at the age of 16, May 7 1977. And I was blown away. But Star Wars has always been more about effects then it has story.Serenity covers the rest of the story that history Missed and I think the world needs that now.

Alien was A blast. Loved the livedin feeling of the ship. Not sure if frozen hibernation is going to be the real way we travel when the time comes but who knows. Agree about Sigorney Weaver to. Is the SFX site not working for anyone else? Can't get to it through browser or FlyVote.

Btw, I am aware that there are other "voting schemes" here. I just started with this one, because it's fast and easy and like in Chicago, you can vote multiple times. I wanted to ease our guys into getting used to voting for another show. Our types, tend to be hard-core fanatics, with only Surface holding their attention. They'll come to see the logic of helping each other in time though. for right now, they'll help, just because I told them to. LOLOLOL

I'm telling you, we are good at this stuff. There was another huge voting thing we were involved with and after one month, we ended up #3 right behind Lost. Not bad for a show that aired 15 times.

I put up additional notices with links to vote at my site. It's starting to move, but traffics a bit slow right now. Those SW people are still gaining ground. We need to get people voting every few minutes for a while, until we get a good lead going.

Hello???? Is anyone around? We could use some help here. I put a crew of night owls from the Surface board on this job. We have pushed the percentage up by a full percent in the last 20 minutes or so, by voting, hitting refresh and voting again.

Now since this is your show, after all, we could use all the help you guys can give us. I'd like to get it back up to the near 80% it was at this morning. (66%+ currently) That will give you guys a shot at holding your own during the day tomorrow. If you get bored voting, see if you can figure out which of the Star Wars sites is focusing on this. We may play some psyche games with them, to slow them down.

I told you, we are really good at this. I'm the guy who's strategies, kept Surface at #3, right behind Lost, during the first few months of the TeeVee.com polls, where multi thousands competed, non-stop.

Of course, you may not care about any of this, and that's fine, but I'm here to help anyway. I'll be damned if some Star Wars nerds, are gonna kick Browncoat ass, if I have anything to do with it. - Jstn

Ni Hao - Got you back up to 71% but my crew has pretty much bailed out due to work and school tomorrow. I'll see if I can't organize a night crew for a more regular thing. The weekend should be great. Of course, it'll be like that for them too.

Persistance and dedication is how we will get our shows back. This voting stuff is "training" for that. We must support Firefly and Surface in whatever ways we can. Night - Jstn

"Due to technical issues beyond our control we have withdrawn the SFX poll indefinitely. Fortunately we had an overwhelming response to our "Greatest SF Movie Ever" poll and will announce the results shortly."

Unless the technical fault is some kinda Jedi mind trick, WE WIN!!!!!

Thanks for posting that Bob. It made my day.

I'm really not surprised by this. When we were doing the TeeVee voting thing (which limited you to one vote every 5 minutes) we forced them to completely overhaul their software a few times, to keep up with us. It's totally restructured now, and no fun anymore, but for those months, man, it was a blast.

Now, that we have combined the talents of Surface dwellers, with the cunning of you Browncoats, the possibilities are staggering.

Perhaps now, you better understand the implications of my signature.

(When I get a little more time, I'll check out your other voting links in more detail, and see if we can't break those polls, too. LOLOL)
