Serenity NewsFirefly hits the television airwaves once again, this time on the Universal HD Channel.

Starting in July the Universal HD Channel is going to start airing Firefly again on Saturday nights but that's not all. They have also created a Firefly fan forum for Browncoats to "misbehave" in.

Universal Admins are asking opinions, responding to users, posting Firefly photo galleries, and otherwise supporting these forums in what appears to be an attempt by the studio to gage the viability of possibly funding another Firefly or Serenity project.

Universal's interest in Firefly on Uni HD makes sense, since they are carrying the Series in their programming. However, they do indeed seem Very enthusiastic, and as Fans it might not hurt to talk about the viability of "Serenity: The Series" as a project Uni HD should look at . JMHO

Live in the UK at the mo, prob never see it but It supports my feeling that 2007 is the year of the browncoat. I've registered anyway, has to be done. The originals gave us Serenity (which brought me to the verse by the way, so thank you,no really, word don't express my thanks enough) and we (the new boys & girls) will now repay them with the Big Dam Trilogy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a notice from my cable company that we'd be getting universal HD in January. Come the end of Jan & no Universal HD, so stoped by the cable company's office. No Joy.

Then the excuses followed; It's always next month, or in two weeks...I have occasion to drive by the office every so often so I stop in for a chat.. Needless to say the the woman at the cable company gives me this weird look every time I come in.

Last time she started to argue with me, saying that Time Warner never said we'd be getting Universal HD. I am an even tempered person but when she told me it hadn't been announced & there had been no letter, I blew a gasket.

Now I'm not receiving my validation email for the universal forums...what is it with universal & me?

I don't have the station either (although my girlfriend's parents do so I'll be telling them to check out the show) but if they start airing new eps, I'll drive the 3 hours to their house to watch 'em. Although since NBC Universal shows are typically on iTunes the next day for download I'll probably just shell out the 2 bucks for that as opposed to the 30 bucks for gas.

Universal HD has forums for All the shows they broadcast on their Network. Interpreting this as a "Test" of Firefly's viability is probably a mistake. However, they ARE Broadcasting it in July, a Month before their film (and ours!), the BDCE, is released in August. I don't have Uni HD, so I don't know; Do They Advertise on the Channel, particularly their own Films? That could be signifigant.

In any case, it certainly doesn't hurt to create a presence on Their Forum Board, and I'm going to suggest in Operation Signal Boost's July Activities that we send "Thank Yous" via e-mail to Uni HD for Broadcasting the Series again.(You can find OSB in the "Guerilla Marketing" Forum)We're going to try and get their sister Station, Sci/Fi Channel, to do a Marathon in August.

Cordrone, by the way, is a Member of my "Slightly Irregular Browncoats" Crew on serenitymovie.org . He's been trying to get me enthusiastic about this for awhile now. I am, sort of, but don't tell him, OK?

I just signed up too. Got the registration email right away. I also do not have UHD yet, although I have been considering it. I pay approximately $70 a month for the digital cable package and DVR receiver I have now, but it would be another $20 to get the HD Tier.

Sequel is most likely and it ain't likely much, Misstressahara.

This is being discussed on Whedonesque as well, and the general consensus seems to be, it isn't much but it's all we've got. Let's make our presense known, let's make them remember Browncoats... let's let them see where here and we're grateful to have the show anywhere on tv and we're still in love and that ain't changin'.

There is a power in #'s as the Jericho fans so aptly showed here recently. Joss said when he announced the CE on Whedonesque that the DVD sales of Serenity had sure made some difference.... therefore all evidence points to the fact that something rather than nothing has some effect!

This is nice, to be sure, but don't get too crazy folks. Uni has the rights to broadcast the existing episodes in HD. They do not have the rights to produce new eps. Make our presence known and maybe we can convince them to order another movie. I'd love a new movie. *crosses eyes*

This is nice, to be sure, but don't get too crazy folks. Uni has the rights to broadcast the existing episodes in HD. They do not have the rights to produce new eps. Make our presence known and maybe we can convince them to order another movie. I'd love a new movie. *crosses eyes*

I have yet to get my e-mail as well. It's kind of rediculous, we should get those conformation e-mails immediately if you ask me.

However I've been lurking on there and it says that Universal will start airing Firefly on Saturday July 14th on the UniversalHD Channel and will from there on air one eppi every Sat. So YAY! We get to watch our show in HD starting in July! *does the happy dance*

It took a few days for me to post. I was able to log in, but it wasn't until LATE last night I was sent several validation e-mails and was able to start posting. So have faith, their system is just a bit funky

In other news, UniHD set up a shiny photo gallery to get us geared for July 14 and the showing of the eps. Seems they only have a gallery for Shindig, but hey it's a start

Is there any way Universal could be sent the reams and reams of fan fiction, emails to both Universal AND Fox, the endless chats and discussions about possible future endeavors in just about every entertainment medium possible to help speed this thing along? Seriously. Do they honestly need to start a NEW site to gage the viability of possibly funding another Firefly or Serenity? What more do they want?

Of course, I say this after knowing the film's performance and the expectations that were set. The Universal rep at the movie theater in Austin where I saw the advanced screening was saying "this film's tracking better with genre fans than Episode III. We should have released it yesterday!" and then September came around and THUD.
