Then I'll take "a little slim" on ice. (Blah! Just realized the innuendo.)

...*steps back to admire that sentence*

Whoah, that innuendo sounded good in my head, but typed, it looks even better. HUZZAH!

Yeah...looking back...should've shoved a comma in between "nipple" and "penguin"

...

Never thought I'd have to type that in my lifetime...dunno whether to feel weirded out or slightly blessed.

For all those who were wondering, a "slippery nipple" is a mixture of sambuca and (EDIT)Baileys Irish Cream (not tequila )...and it ain't half bad IMHO. But then again, that is the opinion of an 18 year old who still hasn't lost his child-like fascination with all alcoholic beverages...so "ain't half bad IMHO" covers quite a lot...

Hi all. Long, bad day.

Work was not so good. One of the nurses is suicidal (don't know why) so another one took her off for help, half the work that needed to be done by that morning hadn't been, crap going wrong left right and center. Surgery with the Doc had a little surprise to it when the equipment came apart unexpectedly and made the floor and part of a wall look like something worthy of Slither.. I had to try cleaning up without freaking the patient out by letting her see it. A little blood looks like a lot when it gets thrown against the wall. Then another nurse decided to try to cop an attitude because the nurse who left was back and walking around like a zombie so we let her just check patients in. Bitchy was upset because she had to work almost as hard as the rest of us do when we do the job she had, and the other nurse was getting "special treatment".
I almost ripped her face off, but it isn't my place to do so.
I was looking forward to son's school picnic tonight. Called Dad and he said he wasn't doing so well (sounded like hell), so I grabbed something for the potluck, showed up so my son knew I'd kept my promise to be there, and went to get something Dad had requested. He'd also forgotten to write the checks he wanted me to mail out by today. On my way to his apt I shut my finger in the car door so hard I split it open (Typing without the middle finger of your right hand is hard!) Finally made it to the hospital to see Dad and got some ice on it. I walked into his room to find him sleeping and with an NG tube in. They ran a test but nobody there on evenings knew what they'd found. Some things he'd asked for still hadn't been taken care of, and he just generally does not look well. Visiting hours ended and he was asleep again.

Tomorrow may not be better, but at least it's not today.

"Barkeep! Another of whatever that was please, and keep 'em coming!"

Or not if you're busy.

I've lived horror stories after drinking Tequila.

That's why I stick to beer, bourbon, and the occasional glass of wine.

I'm so glad I never had a "child-like fascination" with alchohol. Or any kind of fascination. Or any horror stories.
It may be a complete idiot who doesn't learn from his own mistakes, but it's still a great fool who doesn't learn from the mistakes of others.

Did I hear my Penguin say 'Dear One'?

I actually do not life Sambuca one little bit - it is yucky as anything and it should be criminal to add it to something as diving as Baileys!

But you can make me something with Bailey's and Jameson's if you like Penguin, dear...

Hello Jimi-bear!! I've been missing you Honey! How are you - was the long night a good or bad one???

Mei Mei Rose!! I admire and adore you - and although I rarely have a hang over once is enough to see the wisdom of your observations!! I loves you too Honey!

Rosie (Big or Stinking) That really sucks that you had that kind of day - you simply don't deserve it! Take care and know that heaps of wonderful vibes are winging their way to you from Australia...

Hey there Whimsy!! How are you darling?? I am counting down the days til we meet too! I always think of you when I use this emotie... wonder why?

I'm going to have to go to bed soon - though I might phone someone at work... Oh and of course Dad will be in in a minute to tell me to stop 'playing' on his computer and Mum will mutter something about how none of you are real...

Yeah - I need that drink now I think Penguin!

Oh Mav, honey, I do so feel your pain! It's crazy-making isn't it? I'm sorry you're having to look too
I sent in three resumes yesterday, I need to make a call today, last week I turned in at least ten applications... *sigh*

So, speaking of work (even if it's not paying work at this point) as you all may know, my funnycatmacros bucket is, erm, too popular for its own good, and anyone posting from it will get a bandwidth exceded thing. So that's no fun. So I'm duplicating it, basically the whole thing, here: http://s209.photobucket.com/albums/bb149/lockedkittehs/ and the guest password is 'browncoat'. So we'll have our own bucket for this board, and the really popular one can go ahead and be really popular.

Also, I am basically out of money. I can probably pay my insurance this month, but gas and food are starting to seem very, very expensive. This is bad.

Rose, I don't know how you feel about it, but have you considered getting a position as a waitress, at least to hold you over until you find something more suited to your liking? It is an easy trade to learn, and the main job function is being nice to people so they will give you money. If you can memorize a menu and be sure to smile every time you refill the tea, you can make easy money, enough to get by on at least.

I am not sure if you have done it before or not (bad memory) but I thought it was worth recommending. It's easier than cleaning RVs, at any rate, and you can make about the same pay if you find a decent restaurant. *hugs*

Guess I could start with the Perkins down the street. I've eaten there so much I have most of the menu memorized anyway.

All you gotta keep thinking to yourself Rose is that it's only temporary. I'm pretty sure there ain't many people that look to waiting tables as a permanent solution to their financial problems. To most, it's just something to tide them over 'til something more intriguing comes along, bringing more stimulating and financially rewarding challenges with it.

Just gotta keep your chin up PR. To paraphrase a certain cap'n:

Good morning 'ole Browncoat Bar & Grill!

Barkeep...a coke, if you please!

I've started my own job search. My current job is way too stressful. The sad thing is that I've very good at it, but I just can't handle the stress of the constant phone calls ( I take calls from Medicare providers). I need something where I control what I do, not some stupid non-stop phone!

Morning, everyone.

Waiting tables isn't bad, as longs as the restaurant you are at is halfway decent. With tips, most people walk with the equivalent of $10-12/hr. I've waited tables, I'va also been a hostess. It's not too bad, and you are already used to working in the evenings. Evenings are when you make decent money, but it can be a hustle.

Penguin, I worked many years ago at the corporate headquarters for Hechinger/Home Quarters/Builder's Square, and I had to wear a headset I took so many calls. I handled calls from over 500 stores at the chain's prime. I totally understand wanting to get away from that.

*hug* to RIMG.

Hello everyone.

*Grabs a mug of the good stuff*

I've had a hell of a night.

First, I get woke up at 4:30AM to find out that my godmother is in the emergency room, 'cause she hasn't been feeling good. At about 7:30 going on 8 we find out that it's an infection in her throat.

So then I go back to sleep.

At 9:30, my godbrothers girlfriend wakes me up (They live in the apartment above mine) 'cause he took her car to work, and his wouldn't start, so she woke me up to sit outside with her to wait for triple A. They came about two hours later.

and now here I am.

I was thinking more along the lines of a 'go fuck yourself' than 'asshat' anatomy meeting anatomy, but okay then.

And if I could find someone who wanted to pay me for posing nude, I probably would be okay with it. It's really good money. Doesn't seem likely, though. I may be sexy, but I'm not really pin-up fodder. Too much belly. Though I should look at the art schools around here, maybe.

Seriously though if you're going to be waitstaff may I sugges hiring on with a catering company. The hours are more flexible and there's no real ogling going on, plus the tips are amazing because the staff splits them and the tip usually runs into the hundreds per person. Also, it's fun to work all the big fancy parties.

Yeah look up catering companies and call them up. They are always looking for help, but they pay better than regular waitress jobs and they're almost always evening or afternoon. I'd suggest also calling up hotels and banquet services as they do catering and events.
