And yet once more in need of one. Does anyone know of a manufacturer that produces them, prices and the like? I've seen a few of these threads in the archive area. Yet I'm afraid those were somewhat outdated.
Or - I'm being stupid, which could also be the case. *g*

The bestest Browncoat out there, by far, is the one produced by abbyshot.com - And as it is awesome, it don't come cheap.
Sorry, I can't link it - just head over there and you'll see.
Occasionally, people sell their Abbyshot coats on ebay. There was a thread just a week or so ago announcing such a sale.
Good Luck!

Yepp, I saw another link on ebay. It's obviously still on sale. I think I do remember sales of the guy who actually made the coats for the movie/series though. So - is that still an option?
And thanks for the fast reply. ;)

The coats used/worn in the series were made by Johnathon A. Logan, whose website is http://www.jonathanalogan.com/
So for a coat that looks like this:
you'll be paying top dollar, with good reason, the materials ain't cheap.
The Abbyshot ones are also really good.

Why do you reckon they would do such a thing?

Cashy money, I s'pose. Hard times for Browncoats?
Heck, I wondered why Shawna would sell all those amazing costumes she had...and she was very clear. Those costumes, while precious, would put her child through college.
I think that's where Hell's Kitten got Nandi's dress from - one of Shawna's auctions.

Thanks for the offer Jimi. I just can't afford it now, I'm afraid (but when I can, I'll go a-running, for sure!). I was just wondering if maybe the Abbyshot coats were flawed or subpar in some way. Can't figure why anyone would want to part with a browncoat, once they got their mitts on one. But as Mav pointed out, there are some things that just take the priority, I s'pose.

The offer was actually for the thread's author, but I would have hooked you up too Causal, if you were in the market for one.
There are some differences in the Abbyshot coats and the ones made by the guy who made them for the series, for sure. I have heard mixed reviews on the Abbyshot ones, but from what I have seen the coats look damn good.
I have my 76th Browncoat, which is the lighter brown, but I am also have a dark brown "Mal-style" coat made too, as I plan to attempt a Monty costume at some point.

I just don't know about shaving the beard, I'd have to go as pre-YoSaffBrig Monty.

Tsis... I'm off to town for a bit and you guys... *snickers*
Anyway. *clears throat* Yeah, knowing myself I might have been one of those guys who would have gotten an Abbyshot coat first only to replace it later on by the more expensive one.
This time I'm tempted to jump right past that step and go straight for the big ones. Did anyone ever hear anything bad about Jonathan's coats?
@RIMG: And thanks for the offer, pal. I'm afraid my sizes are odd though, so it'd be way too much luck for me to fit in there. *bangs head against desk*
*starts saving money*

I just have to point out that Monty's coat differed dramatically from Mal's coat, in both style and color.

But I agree you would make an awesome Monty. Gonna start growing your hair out? ;)

I personally am having mine wife made.
The leather pieces are cut and pinned and today she begins sewing. Can't beat wife made.
Sure it won't be Nathan's coat, but I am not the BDH nor any of his crew. I am me, just a browncoat.

will post pics once it is finished tonight or tomorrow.
Browncoat through and through, more oft than not I have found myself adrift in the black, wondering if I had enough in me to keep flying.
