Our numbers are usually lower on weekends so I'm happy to see we have 21 days >1000. But Xena is so close on our heels it is scarey! Let's get those numbers up!
Xenite and Browncoat votes fell off, again, yesterday, 25% and 10%, respectively. The weekend probably had an effect on numbers of available voters. We're still going great guns, and, our lead is growing, but, we have to keep it up!
The next goal is 370,000 votes, which will take another 300 votes. One more day. Not far off from that, is 400,000, or, another 30,300 votes, just over 22 days at current voting levels. Then, we shoot for half a million, about 97 days out as we are currently voting.

I do the full top 40 on each new thread and then the "condensed" version daily thereafter (except usually on weekends because access to the computer with all the stuff on it isn't so easy from home). Even the condensed version will be quite big this week though, there's a lot of passing set to be going on in the next week or two.

I'm all for a "24 Hour Vote Day". Of course it'd have to be a Friday -> Saturday, or Saturday -> Sunday.
Big Question: Who is NOT going to DragonCon AND Are you willing and able to collect Top40 and Nominations data for the following days: Thursday, August 30 Friday, August 31 Saturday, September 1 Sunday, September 2 Monday, September 3 Tuesday, September 4?
That way us number cruncher types can relax and enjoy the Con knowing we can catch up when we return. I'll be very curious to see how everyone's votes do that weekend (My current theory is that many will be at the con so everyone's votes will drop).

I'm not going to D*C but even if I were, my collection of top 40 figures is completely automated, happens without my intervention. If somebody wants me to add nominations figures for a brief period, I can do that, just remind me closer to the time. Those files are much bigger, don't wanna use the disk space for collecting them all the time when I normally have no use for them.
Firefly is 2242 votes ahead of Xena! And, we got another shiny banner, for 370k votes!
Browncoat and Xenite votes picked up, again, yesterday, +12% and +19%, respectively. Our lead continues to grow, but, we have to keep it up!
The next goal is 375,000 votes, which will take another 3782 votes, about 2.5 days, at current rate of voting. Not far off from that, is 400,000, or, another 28.782 votes, about 19 days at current voting levels. Then, we shoot for half a million, about 85 days out as we are currently voting.
Every single vote cast is important, Browncoats; if you miss a chance to vote, we will never get that lost vote back.
I won't be going to Dragon*Con, for the first time in about 14 years... Goin' to a rim planet called Hawai'i, next week, instead. I'll vote as often as I get the chance, but, I may not have time to vump, too...
Gonna miss all my shiny Browncoat compadres...

Straight Top40 will be fine for me. I only mentioned the Nom's because I thought there were a few folk tracking shows in there.
When the Xenites hit 300K, their votes dropped off. But, the Firefly votes have been stronger since taking over number one than they have been in a while.
We need to keep pulling away before they wake up and rally the troops.

Yeah, and Jerico is climbing the rankings at a rapid clip, and there's another show in the nomination pool that seems likely make it into the top 40 before the end of the year. TV Vote could turn into the go-place for fandoms to show what they got.

While we do continue to pull ahead, their daily vote is growing at a faster rate than ours is. If they keep that up, they will pull ahead of us again, at least on a daily basis. They've had only a few days to get the word out, so we still don't know what their best shot will be. Then again, we did come out of nowhere (under 10,000 votes) a year ago and eventually move past them.
I gotta believe that some of the Xenites also secretly vote for Firefly. Both shows feature strong-willed women who get things done.

In psychology, there is a mechanism called extinction. If the Xenites don't catch up, soon, it is gonna be hard for them to keep their voters interested, as, there is no reward, no emotional reinforcement, in falling farther and farther behind. Without a positive stimulus, the behavior becomes extinct.
Then, the only folks you'll see voting Xena are those who vote casually, without concern for the top slot, who just vote because they like that show... And, the wild-eyed die-hards, who will vote until they drop, hoping for us to slip up.
Don't worry, Xena will never catch you, besides you got LEXX voting for you!! Btw the numbers today are a little off, The X-Files didn't get 690 votes in one day.
