Need help form fellow Browncoats...

Hey all,

I'm an infantry soldier deployed to Afghanistan. I've been trying to get donations of books and videos for our MWR (Morale, Welfare and Recreation) center here. I have the first disc of the series on my iPod and have got a lot of the guys here hooked on Firefly. I'm wondering if any of you might know a group or organization that would be willing to donate a copy of Serenity and the Firefly series to our MWR. I'd be mighty grateful. Thanks!

Bumping for the hell of it.

I'm not sure when I'll be able to donate my copies of Firefly and Serenity, I'm trying to get the money to buy some new ones, even though the old ones still play perfectly.

Looking forward to it. I sent a set and the BDM (along with music and a buttload of other movies) to my brother after basic. He gave away most everything and it all was dipersed in various place in the world.

Can I suggest that anyone that wants to donate not wait for a list - Just send things you think might be enjoyed?

My mom and I have a huge stack of movies we get from the sale bins. They are good movies, but we never even open them. I think they need a trip somewhere!

Plus I have several copies of FF and Serenity! Now who really needs more than 2 of each anyway?

Hmmm...seems I came to the party late. I think the list idea would be good. While buying and sending multiple of copies of Firefly and Serenity is good for the cause, I think a little variety would be good.

Update: Okay, I didn't wait for the list. Just tried to pick items I thought they might enjoy.

Wow! Sorry I didn't respond back earlier... been a busy couple of days. Thank you all so much. And thanks for pointing out the address. I dunno what Amazons deal is with APO stuff. It gets dumb sometimes, lol. You guys are truly awesome! I can't wait to share the FF/Serenity experience with the gang here in full! I'll try to be more vigilant about getting back here and letting you all know when something arrives! :)

OP, you might consider signing on with anysoldier.com - you can post a very specific (or less so) list of the stuff your unit needs and you'll get inundated with responses from all over the USA. They are also very careful with security and don't just put your mailing address out there for everyone to see. (hint)

Thanks to everyone sending something. If I get multiple copies of the BDM, BDCE or firefly, we have two satellite locations in the field that are sorely lacking in movies as well, so I can make sure they each get something, too. :-)
