Bit of Singapore Mai Fun, some Lo Mein, maybe a few sticks of protein, a bowl of won ton soup...

and now I'm noticing: won ton. Could be chinese soup; could be poorly spelled weight, "one ton"; or if you take the space out of it, could be indicating a disposition "wonton".

Mornin' haven't had breakfast yet but here are some stats VUMP!

Top two scores as of this morning:

Total votes Firefly: 400035

Total votes Xena: 387641

Yesterday, Browncoats voted 1324 times. Great job!

Yesterday, Xenites voted 921 times.

(Xenites voted 403 times less than Browncoats, yesterday).

Firefly is 12,394 votes ahead of Xena!

Browncoat votes fell by 10, yesterday, .75%; Xenite votes rose by 64, 7.46%.

We reached our goal of 400,000! Look at that shiny banner!

Now, we shoot for our next big goal, 425,000, which is 24,965 votes away, about 18.86 days at current voting levels.

Further out is half a million, 99,965 votes away, still about 75.50 days out as we are currently voting.

4,246,218 votes have been counted as of 09/13/07; 13,597 were cast yesterday. In order to take ownership of 10% of all votes cast yesterday, we needed to vote 1,360 times, falling short by 36 votes. We are back up to 9.42% of all votes ever cast. We're making progress, again!

We can still take that 10% slice of the pie on Rich Labonte's charts! If each of us voting managed to eke out just one more vote per day, it would make a huge difference; we could start catching up on that 10%, not to mention reaching our goal numbers much more quickly.

Our 1000+/day streak is still going strong, at 45 days, but it almost slipped away from us, this past weekend! Just four weeks to beat Xena's all-time record of 73 days. Let's not let our votes slip away from us, again!

I was actually kinda hopin' to encourage folks to votin' MORE for Firefly, not necessarily less for anybody else. Also, unless you're votin' a lotta shows, not sure how much of a statistical impact this strategy will have.

As it is, what does anybody reckon the current number of Firefly voters to be? At 1300 daily votes, +/-, divided by, say, 6 votes per day, on average, puts it about 216 voters. If each one voted just once more per day, that'd be about a 16% gross increase to Firefly votes, without droppin' other shows.

that what i was talking about earlier, if i vote for ten shows, which i did, that is not going to help with 10% goal. so i need to either cut some shows or once, twice a day only vote firefly. i went for cuting it to five.

I'm with ya, Ray. I don't know what others are doing, but I'm currently voting on average 10 - 12 times a day. I include 4 other shows in my selections. But, the primary reason for my votes is Firefly. So, if I skip the others on a couple of votes to bump the BDH's, so be it. I just can't fit many more votes in to my day.

Now that I've got an auto-reminder that works, my votes have jumped to almost 10/day rather than the 2 or 3 that it used to be.
Firefly votes mostly with the occasional Lexx and Dr. Who.

Well, we have to careful about honoring our alliances....but that said LETS DO THIS THING!

I wanna see Firefly at 10% as much as the next browncoat so I'm gonna cut my hourly vote down to one Trek (oh lord how will I choose) and drop my vote for NCIS (its a great show to watch when you just wanna zone but when it comes down to it...favorite show of all time? no where close).

Well, I dunno about BSG; on their voting thread on Skiffy, at least, they never mention Firefly in their "alliance" reminders, though Lexx does, on their own thread. BSG is courting Doctor Who, instead, and, there have been proposals to start an alliance with Xena, of all shows:

Point is, I'm not sure how much real help we're even getting from BSG. EKS has indicated that Skiffy is pretty much the main BSG board promoting the Vote, and, it doesn't sound so much like they have been helping us, as that they have considered asking for our help, only to turn that to proposing offering Xena help against us, instead.

At this juncture, we're doing pretty well, with the help of Lexx and the Dark Shadows folks. If we actually needed any additional help, it would be unwise to ask it of a voting group which would use our votes to get closer to where we are. Mathematically, we are doing almost as well as the next two shows, Xena and Bonanza, combined.

As it is, BSG is very mobile on the charts, and, they're becoming ambitious. Right now, they are years behind us in terms of voting. If we trade votes with them (our 1,300+ to their 600-), they get a potential 700+ vote advantage, which means they can close the gap a LOT faster.

So, I believe that the presumed BSG partnership is no longer in effect, if it ever was, nor should we pursue one.

Your milage may vary. Click on the links in my post, above, and do some looking. Base your decisions on what you read. We're #1. If we want to stay there, we need to play smart.

The higher the percentage of your total votes are cast for Firefly, the higher Firefly's (should the 's be italicized? Seriously, I want to know.) % of the the total votes cast will be.

If you vote for 1 show, it gets 100% of the votes.
2 = 50%
3 = 33.333%
4 = 25%
5 = 20%
10 = 10%
etc.

Can I suggest just voting for shows that you've watched and like, or is this the wrong crowd for that?

The way the tvvote page is set up - with the ability to vote for as many top 40 shows as you want - is very smart. It means that you CAN vote for a show without ever having to worry about hurting any other show. None of the stupidity of most voting systems which lead to nonsense like being unable to vote for Nader without effectively helping Bush.

And yet here we are talking about alliances and betrayals and voting for shows we've never watched and NOT voting for shows we like because of the politics of what their fans are doing.

Not to put too fine a point on it but, as far as I'm concerned, screw that! I'll vote for the shows I like. I like BSG, so I vote for them. I like Buffy and Angel, and Dr Who, and the Gates, so they get my votes too. Hell, if I liked and watched Xena, I'd vote for that too!

I shouldn't have to feel bad for not voting Lexx - a show I've seen no more than 5 episodes of and never cared enough for to watch more.

And I hope and believe that Firefly isn't #1 because we were the best at manipulating other shows fans to form "alliances" with us, but because we have the largest group of people who actually, truly, honestly love the show and are passionate enough to put in the effort to vote regularly.

Sorry for coming across all ranty. Just seems like all the "alliances" are more trouble than they're worth - and dilute the value of what we've achieved. We could say that our #1 position shows that we have the most, and most dedicated fans out there, but if a Xenite counters that with "no, you're just better at making alliances than we are", how are we to counter that - when it's exactly what we're trying to do?

Browncoat votes rose by 8, yesterday, .6%; Xenite votes fell by 177, 19.21%.

Now, we shoot for our next big goal, 425,000, which is 23,633 votes away, about 17.74 days at current voting levels.

Further out is half a million, 98,633 votes away, still about 74.04 days out as we are currently voting.

4,259,773 votes have been counted as of 09/14/07; 13,555 were cast yesterday. In order to take ownership of 10% of all votes cast yesterday, we needed to vote 1,356 times, falling short by 24 votes. We are up to 9.4224064% of all votes ever cast. We're making progress, again!
