Hi
I'm new to this forum so I'm sorry if there is another thread about this but I'd take it as a kindness if anyone can tell me where I can get an mp3 of the acoustic version of Ballad of Serenity at the end of the BDM
Many thanks

Why wasn't that on the movie's soundtrack? It includes the entire end credit's except for the ballad.

yeah, that is kinda weird.
I'd like the tabs for the ballad at the end of the movie if anyone can find them, though. would be greatly appreciated.

Actually, the original version was acoustic too. I think you mean "instrumental".

mmm, no, i mean the acoustic bit at the end of the BDM at the very end. i know its instrumental, but it's also acoustic ;-) ('acoustic' is kind of indicative of something being instrumental, lol)

Actually, all accoustic means is 'unplugged', not pure intrumental.
It's a beautiful piece; I'd like to have it myownself.![]()

Is it just me, or does this version sound a lot like Lindsey Buckingham's style?

Lindsey Buckingham? I dunno, maybe. Then again, I've seen any number of similar stylists...
I really like it when the (sounds like) dobro kicks in, midway through the bridge. The key changes at the end of each phrase make it a little difficult to sing along to, if you're used to the original TV version; but, I like to think I'm big enough to adapt to this minor change
.
I like this version so much, in fact, that it has been my ringtone since the mp3 first became available, slightly before the release of the DVD... (NB: Trimmed to the verse before the bridge through the final note, and it's still too long.)
A final thought: During the movie, just before Mal and Book's "they sidle up and smile" dialog, Jayne is pictured playing guitar by the fireside, at the end of a very similar piece of guitar music... Anybody else have a sneaking suspicion that this might be Adam Baldwin and a buddy playing this uncredited BoS?
Probably not. But it's an interesting notion, isn't it? I'm not a guitarist, but I've stood drenched in sweat for 4 hours a night next to a few, for like, 10 years. It sure looks like he knows how to play at least a little. If not, it's a convincing fake-job...
Chord-ially,
zoid

What I meant was, if there's an acoustic version, there are instrumentals in it (yes unplugged, though I thought that term only referred to intruments that usually use an amp and in the unplugged version the amp is discarded, so to speak) :-P cuz I don't really think you can say something is acoustic unless it has some sort of instrument attached to it i.e. an acoustic guitar ;-)

I'm pretty sure that's what he was playing. I've seen several others say the same. Thing is, while I heard it right off in the theater, I've never been able to hear it on the DVD. Does that seem right to you?
