I think alot of us probably quote firefly more than we realize... it just gets worked into your way of speaking.
I use alot of jayne quotes... "... worth of a turd". I like his response to the doctors question about tearing apart the infirmary to find tape... "apparently..." there's just something about the way he says it that makes me giggle. I've also started doing that arms crossed/finger tapping thing when he was being questioned by alliance in bushwacked.
I used "big happy family" today at work... and I'm with BULLET0IN0THE0BRAINPAN0SQUISH, I use the GRR ARGH! alot!!!
Isn't firefly just the best thing in the world?!?!

Most commonly: "Looks like," followed by "Now that's just downright unsettlin'." When I say "looks like," I'm not even quoting Wash any more, it's just one of the phrases I use.
Alas, "shiny," and "gorram" have not entered my usual vocabulary, although I do say "frack" a lot, to borrow another invented swear word.

lolololololololol. major uses of quotes at drill today.
Me and a friend from my shop went to go visit our friend Ryan (avid firefly/serenity fan, lent me Firefly when I hadn't seen it) in his shop. Well, my friend Pete said we were all folk in the same situation or sumthin like that, and Ryan goes "War's long done, we're all just folk now." to which I replied "Listen up! We're coming down there to empty that vault!' -- 'yeah, when you give me your authorization password.'" then after a pause because we had no sound effects, Ryan said "..okay!" and we started laughing, no one else there had any idea what we were talking about, lol.
While we were visiting, the conversation SOMEHOW took a very inappropriate turn, like, worse than Jayne inapporpriate if that's possible (everyone else there was of the male variety, lol, not saying that all men are pigs, just a minority of the ones in the room). One of the guys said something very wrong, and Ryan said "that's why I never kiss 'em on the mouth." He and I were, again, the only ones laughing.
During the wrongness of the context of the conversation, one of the guys said something that almost made me throw up in my mouth a little bit, and I just looked at him, shook my head, and said "I'm trying to think of a way you could be cruder...it's just not coming." Then gave myself props for the perfect usage. :D fun times, fun times, it was a shiny day.

Used a Wash quote yesterday :-P A kid walked into my classics class with a Jayne-like hat (only it wasn't orange) and I said to one of my classmates "a man walks down the street in that hat, people know he's not afraid of anything." though fortunately the kid didn't hear me (i woulda felt bad, 'specially since he doesn't know the series), but still, he looked like he loved that hat, and I just had to say it.

Well, thats a tough one. I use gorramit alot ^_^ Also shiny, and yesterday when I woke one of my roommates cos they were late for work I said " I understand if you have to prepare for that 10 in the morning thing" The look on her face was priceless *although it was only after nine* I've used the quote "Its my speciality" a couple times when I've given out massages too ^_^

I use shiny, gorram and gorramit a lot plus really like 'fei hua'. When I want to swear I usually say 'wode ma' or 'goushi'. Oddly enough no one says anything when I sneak any Mandarin in the conversation but they stare at me when I talk about 'the special hell'. Huh, what does that say about them? But the best thing about using quotes from our Big Damn Heroes is when someone asks about what I just said and I get to talk about Firefly/Serenity. Blank looks prompt a loaning of the DVDs. Yes, "mine is an evil laugh".

Drill today. The same friend who introduced me to Firefly paid a visit to our shop (right around the end of the duty day), talked for a bit, then I decided it was time to leave (it was now after duty hours) and as I was in a happy mood, I was smiling. As I'm walking towards the door, he says "Cat, you're too happy. Stop being so cheerful." And I just smiled at him and said "I don't think there's a power in ther 'Verse can keep me from being cheerful." He laughed as I was leaving. ^_^

First off let me say that I am a New York Yankees fan who wears his colors proud, and I am susceptible to road rage, and some dumbasses want to stay close to my ¾ ton truck in a snow storm for safety, but not behind me. They want to be right in front of me. I slow my truck down from 65 mph to 55 in snow storms because a vehicle with a high center of gravity like mine is not as stable on the road even while in four wheel drive, and people will drive at a higher rate of speed until they pass me then slow to 55 to be right in front of me. To combat this when I see it is about to happen, I speed my truck up until they pass and then slow down so there should be enough distance between us, but some people don’t want that and I am beginning to hear myself say “I swear by my pretty blue bonnet I will end you.” What scares me is that someday I might just actually push one of these people off the road one day if provoked, because one day a few years back I tried pushing an unmarked State Trooper off the road for f***ing with me on the highway. I didn’t get arrested or even a ticket for that incident, but I did get a very stern talking to by the Trooper, and I did talk to my councilor at the VA about this, and I have gotten better, but sometimes I feel my old self emerging. I rarely swear out loud, but I'm always swearing in my head and gorramn/gorrammit is now appearing with some frequency.
My friend always likes to say we're going to die when we jaywalk. I always reply with "We're too pretty to die!"

I have a bunch I try to use. Like I no longer try say i'm going to kill myself I say "bullet to the brainpan, squish" and make a gun with my hand and put it to my temple pulling the 'trigger' as i say squish. That gets me weird looks around the office.
The one i use the most though has got to be, "I don't disagree with you on any certain point." It's just so easy to use so often especially in my line of work (social worker.)

A sportscaster on TV was talking basketball and mentioned this REALLY weird name i couldn't pronounce, and i said "to wha ba who?" swear to god there must've been like 5 syllables in his last name alone. or maybe my ears just went nuts trying to process it.

There's only a handful of quotes I find really useful in daily life, and that I actually use fair often, like:
"It don't make no sense."
"Could be that's true."
"I ain't saying it ain't ...."
"Way it is is the way it is."
"I do not hold to that."
"Wait a tick!"
"Didn't say 'want', said 'will'."
"Dong-ma?"
"Yes, I'm very proud."
"(...), not so much."
"Sometimes a thing gets broke, can't be fixed."
And slangy abbreviations, such as:
"Most like" (for 'very likely')
"Fair often" (for 'fairly often')
And probably a few more that I forgot to mention. :)

i say shiny quite a lot. also 'walkin' and talkin' when replying to 'how are you?' i went through a phase of swearing in chinese, but my class picked up on it, and they aren't very discreet, so i stopped before they were detected.
gorramit often finds it's way in, also i find 'lucy. you're mouth is talking. you might want to look to that.' is often directed at me by family members. can't think why...
find myself using 'lucy is very unhappy...' occaisonally, and also 'i can kill you with my brain. i need to find a time when i can say 'and if wishes were horses we'd all be eatin steak.' (it's been used in my hous on occaison, but never by me.)
i also have been known to list all the awful things that have happened in my day and follow it up with: 'it was the best day ever.' i'm not the first to say that, but the reference is usually reconized in my family. 'my food is problematic also is useful.
there are just so many! i have to stop there, though.

I actually got to use a one-liner of Jayne's at an opportune moment at work a couple years ago. My coworker was talking about his grandmother, and how she used to mess around in her younger days.., he went on to say, "she was quite a whore."
I responded almost immediately without thinking, in my best Jayne voice, "I'm in." I just got a blank stare from him since he didn't know what the hell I was talking about, but my mom (who was my boss at the time) cracked up quite a bit, since she knew where I'd gotten it from.
