Hello!

I might possibly be moving to Rochester in the very near future, and as I know no one there, I thought it would be nice to meet some Browncoats in the area. I joined the Yahoo group, but no one talked to me. *sniff* So, I thought I'd try here.

If you're in the Rochester area, I'd love for you to say hi.

aw, thanks Mai. I'm starting to wonder if maybe there just aren't any Browncoats in NY. I'm the only BC where I live now, so I guess it won't be that different.

There have to be Browncoats in NY, surely? Maybe somewhere near there? I don't know, but I'll keep bumping it till someone responds. *goodlucksquidges*

You're the best. I feel like back when my family would move when my dad was in the navy. It would usually be in the middle of the school year after all the cliques and stuff had formed and I'd sit there first day while no one talked to me.

RoxyFreefall lives in Rochester, I'm pretty sure. (she recently purchased one of your very fine hats!)
LittleAlbatross lives in Brooklyn.
Averyfinecompanion lives in Syracuse.

I don't think that being cautiously ashamed, or selectively ashamed, or in any way ashamed of who I am is any way to live my life.

lol. That pesky lake is in the way of a lot of things.

I was thinking I might check out the Toronto BC group because I'm sure I'll be in Toronto once in awhile and I think there is an active group there.

OH YES! They try to get together at least once a month with a group shindig. As a matter of fact, this month's is this Saturday. I'm actually getting to go (my first one that I can actually make it to!)

There's over 30 people expected, so it should be a shiny time. After the weekend, you can read all about it on my blog:

the TO BCs are always happy to have more!

Hello! Toronto Browncoat here. Yes, we have a very active group. But there must be some in your area because someone is planning on having a Can't stop the Serenity showing, in, um, Elmira, maybe. So she must think there are other fans.
But we have had people up from both Rochester and Buffalo before, so you are more than welcome to come.!

Wow, I am so oblivious, I don't check this board nearly enough! Yikes, sorry 'bout that. I do indeed live in Rochester actually right near the airport. Let me know abouts where and maybe we can meet up sometime!

I know this is a very old mostly dead thread, but I wanted to chime in, in case someone stumbled upon it in the future. There is a very active group of Browncoats in Rochester. We are the Rochester Browncoats and I am the founder. You can find our active Facebook group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/RochesterBrowncoats/
We also have a Facebook page and can be followed on Twitter and Instagram @ROCBrowncoats.
Two years ago, we held a charity screening of Serenity, and we regularly have fan tables at local cons. We also have monthly meetups where we get together in the real world to talk nerd stuff and other things.
Check us out on social media and join our group. We'd love to have you.
