Time for a new addition to the ongoing saga of Browncoat purdyness!

If you're so inclined, please post a picture of yourself so we can all see who we talk to here

How to post images here: http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=5&t=29479
(Short version: Image must be hosted somewhere on the internet and all you need is the URL. Photobucket, imageshack, and flickr are your friends. See above-linked thread for further details, or click 'reply with quote' to see how others have done it.)
Also, PLEASE NOTE: the tutorial thread is an excellent resource and we don't want it to get overloaded and weighed down. Please test your image posts in one of the many 'test' threads scattered over the board, particularly out of the way in troll country, or start your own to help keep the tutorial nice and easy to load.

Most recent picture thread: http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.asp?b=11&t=32429

Index of all past picture threads and sub-picture threads: http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.asp?b=11&t=27728

In the last several threads we've started doing something a little different. For those who want to participate, we're coming up with little themes for everyone to give us their interpretation of. Following the theme is not mandatory. (but it can be fun)

The theme of 'hot' has been suggested.

Post, comment, chat, have fun!

(Thanks Steamer!)

OK, PR, you've probably gotten this question a lot, but how precisely did you pull that off? I can think of a couple more pics of yours that might fit the 'hot' bill.

Most of mine are, needless to say, train-related:

Burn, baby, burn.

Staring at the sun. Seriously, that's what it feels like.

This qualifies as 'hot' because it was taken on July 4, '06, and as you can see I'm hermetically sealed in 'uniform'.

And just in case my screen name didn't make sense to anyone :

ETA: I'm all aware those two coal-scooping pics are a mite blurred, but trust me, with the engine heaving and jerking around the way it does - the photographer was lucky to bring 'em out as good as she did.

Step by step instructions:
1. Light candle
2. Frame up candle from half an arm's length away
3. Run hand through flame quickly enough not to burn, yet slowly enough not to completely blur, while pushing shutter button. Oh yes.

And yes, running my hand through candle flames is something I have done on a somewhat regular basis since my brother showed me it could be done when I was about five.

Very you, and a very good picture
The only new one I have is one I took a couple nights ago for my weekly assignment, which is 'smooth' this week.

Not really hot. Actually, that thing is pretty cold. And my belly? Not all that hot either

Oh! Have I shared this one yet? Hot coat

all right.
i've over-thought this far too much, and i'm finally ready to submit my views of "sexy," as much as i hate to... but it'll all require some narration. and please do keep in mind that i honestly don't find myself to be "sexy," so any image of myself is here merely for what it represents....

((ahem))

(some of these are links as i don't think it's necessary to have some photos visible here)

this is a standard cliche - redhead and big gun - that many find to be "sexy" or "hot":
http://www.flickr.com/photos/sara013/398318853/

self confidence:

certain colours or certain body language:

/

willingness to get dirty, work with your hands ... i feel like i need to clarify that, but i won't (this is me after crawling around the engine of my Jeep when she suddenly stopped running. don't know what the hell i'm doing, but sure as shit not afraid to try; also? could be why i like kaylee so much...):

and there are other things... things made solidly, with soul, that last, things made with form for form's sake, instead of the far too efficient and soulless "form following function" mantra of today:

so there you have it. well, a tiny glimpse of it anyway.
look while you can.
i imagine i'll quickly become excessively self-conscious about this and delete most, if not all, of it. ^__^

Ok now I’ve been looking at the browncoat army ever since those photos were posted during the Dragoncon march. Damn the browncoats are a fine looking bunch. I woulda loved to have been there amongst all my brother and sister coats I just couldn’t make the trip this time around. That doesn’t mean I wasn’t there in spirit and besides, for those that aren’t aware of it I was in another branch of the Independent army. The 113th Jungle Brigade. Digging through old war photos I had stashed away I came across a picture of me “Z” hunkered down in the old bunker we used to call home waiting on orders over the cortex.

Being that this thread is calling for mugshots I thought I’d toss mine in the stew and stir it around with the others. The patch on the arm reads “Jungle Scorpion” and I’m sure my weapon is somewhere close by but no grenades. Captain said he didn’t want any, well at least in the bunker …..

HK - see? that is what I am talking about. Fascinating! No not in the bubbling chem lab way, more like listening to an inspiring speech.

Others read sexy to mean about the physical, perhaps a bit emotional. You see it as more a state of being of which anything is capable.

Please understand I am not trying to be a kiss ass(though I may be succeeding). I simply love to study the human spirit. While I understand there is no way to truly understand another person completely; and we are in a format that is condusive to lies, exaggerations, and BS. You seem to convey your feelings with an eloquence amd brutality that is captivating.

Not knowing the next theme, here is an ode to HK and her diciple:

Hidden in the shadows
Many thing lurk
The moon is their goddess
While the noon sun destroys them
And their only wish
Is to dwell in darkness
Undisturbed
Forever

Unknown by the dinural ones
Unheard of by mortals
Unseen by their prey
And away from the sun's rays
In the solace of shadows
To be
Undisturbed
Forever

Under the stars
In the dark of the night
Tamers of the NightMares
Not simply evil, no, much more than that
We are the lurkers
Who shall remain
Undisturbed
Forever

thought up on the spot, and the colors are taking a little bit. not sure how the bottom ones will show up, may need editing.

So no sexy jersey pictures from me.
How about this instead?

Molotov!! Welcome - never apologise for mobile phone pics - until last August all I had was my mobile, and I still sometimes capture things on it that I don't with my camera!!

Only thing is... ummmm... I just get the red 'X' of Doom...

Anway - I am adoring these pics and the theme is perfect for Melbourne - except that it's cooled down somewhat!

And I am not allowed to post my favourite pic of my favourite man - though I think him rather hot myownself! How about dorkiness!!?? Perhaps that's a new theme... !

DORKINESS!

Yeah - I look stupid - but he doesn't think much of himself in this pic either... still...

EDIT: Oh it took me so long to post that pic that the red boxes of doom are disappeared and your gorgeous face is there! Welcome again Molotov!

A record number of people went to the Colorado Caucus this super Tuesday.
I could not attend as I was in photography class.
However, my awesome mother went and spoke for me as well as herself, and was selected as a delegate for the party.

And guess who won Colorado by a totally whopping and unexpected 67 to 32 percent?

(/sarcasm on) So, I thought I'd pop on and share some cool new pics from the last week. I've had an exceptionally fun time these past few days! (/sarcasm off) Those who are on my friend's list on MySpace know what's been going on (I think).

Here's what I originally posted in my blog when it happened:

Quote:

She’s dead, Jim...I’m a Computer Tech, not a Car Mechanic!
Category: Life

Posted as a bulletin too. Just in case folks don't read my blogs.

So some have heard, some have not.

The Dorito, she's been munched.

Translation: My Dodge Durango was totaled last night.

While visiting my extra special friend last night, some yayhoo decided it would be a fun game to try to evade law enforcement officials whilst under the influence of alcohol at rates of speed that at times exceeded 90mph.

During the course of this nifty new game he had created for himself, he decided to disregard a posted stop sign and thought my Durango would be a most excellent inanimate object to allow his car to mosh with. You would be amazed to find out that an '03 Dodge Durango is really NOT an immovable object when struck by an unstoppable force that is a teeny tiny Chevy Cavalier. Yeah. :(

So my super, extra special friend and I (can't call her my girlfriend, that's a title and we're just not there yet, but I really like her so she's super extra special) were just settling in to watch "Wedding Crashers" (yeah, gotta love THAT). About an hour into the movie, we hear sirens and squeeling tires. Then came the BOOM that was completely unmistakeable. I knew instantly what that was.

So I look out the front window at the empty place that was my Durango. NEATO! My truck learned a new trick! How to make itself disappear! Seriously. Nothing there! Well, except the Sheriff's cruiser that was slowly pulling forward to a stop and a little white car that we had no idea was about. About 10 feet in front of where the front of my poor little SUV was I saw a steaming pile of soon-to-be paperclips that USED to be a Chevy Cavalier. At this point, I'm still not seeing my sweet ride anywhere.

Melissa had already opened the front door by this time and was looking outside. As I was putting on my coat she looks at me and suggests that I not look outside just yet. Couldn't help but giggle from the look on her face. I knew I had to get the visuals over with, so out the door I go. At first I STILL didn't know where the Durango was, and then Melissa pointed at it.

Did you know that an '03 Dodge Durango, while in a stationary state, when struck in the rear by a Chevy Cavalier can actually move approximately 70 feet forward? And did you also know that during that forward movement, it is entirely possible for it to take out wooden fences, two 4x4 mailbox posts, and it can move another stationary pickup (circa. 1970ish) and entire vehicle length? Not only that, but did you know that it is entirely possible for an '03 Dodge Durango to attempt to emulate an accordian?

Did you also know that they do not make cars like they used to? Of course you did. And I'm betting that you already knew that the pickup, although it was moved, sustained only a minor dent to the taligate and a broken bolt on the bumper.

So here's the scoop. No, I wasn't in the vehicle. It is totaled. I am SO happy it was sitting where it was, because I am fairly certain that had it not been, that car would definitely have hit the house, and either would have landed in our laps, or would have definitely made life miserable for Melissa by destroying a very vital part of her house or car. I had (have) full coverage on the Durango and have since been given a rental to drive. We do not know the condition of the driver as of yet. We are fairly certain he was care-flighted out to the hospital. His car is more toast than mine, but mine is more important to me.

Oh, and to add insult to injury, when I got home this morning, I found that my internet is down at my house. So I'm again relegated to answering questions at work until I get that caught up.

This too shall pass. Just wish
