Angl- oh sorry you missed that. Yes two imponderers are now a couple. I will be moving to Nevada in a week and a half so that we can be in the same town and not do long distance any more... 'cause long distance sucks!!!

Jonny- everyone knew.. so no cat no bag ( ok not everyone but pretty much anyone who's been here in the last 3 months)

I didn't think there was (a cat or a bag anymore) but you never know.

Forward from previous thread.

Okay, it's back. Did anyone else notice the unfortunate phallic symbolism present?

Leave it to me. Two posts and the quality of discussion goes right down the drain. Athlete's Foot: Never thought of that. Marking your woman? That sounds way more wrong than a thong liner. Unless you are BOTH into that. I won't judge people's preferences when it comes to what they like to do. Being a family tradition gives the whole thing a really creepy feeling though.

See, this is what I'm talking about "getting to know you (each other). These issues need to be thought about, talked out, agreed upon, etc.

Is it okay to pee in the shower?

On each other?

Be in the bathroom while the other makes stinky?

Leave the seat up?

Squeeze from the middle of the tube?

Leave the cap off?

Does the toilet paper roll pitch overhand or underhand?

Is 20 guys too many to have over for the football game?

Can I stay and watch from the peephole when your friends come over for a lingerie party?

Is having a peephole okay?

Can I try some on after they leave?

A relationship takes a lot of thought and work and especially getting to know the other person.

Is it okay to pee in the shower? no

On each other? hell no

Be in the bathroom while the other makes stinky? god no

Leave the seat up?sure we're all adults and can raise or lower the seat depending on the need

Squeeze from the middle of the tube? whatever as long as it's not my toothpaste

Leave the cap off? see above

Does the toilet paper roll pitch overhand or underhand? no one cares

Is 20 guys too many to have over for the football game? depends on the size of the house and the stupidity of the friends

Can I stay and watch from the peephole when your friends come over for a lingerie party? only if you don't expect me to save you from a violent woman who sees you...

Is having a peephole okay? depends on where and why

Can I try some on after they leave? sure..

A relationship takes a lot of thought and work and especially getting to know the other person.

Many a bitter battle has begun from this one issue. I am not sure but this may have been how the whole Hatfield and McCoy thing got started.

Oh, wait! This is how the the Hatfields & McCoys got started. (and very interesting comment...where and why indeed? do tell.)

I like what NvG said about pacing the relationship. Too slow or too fast can definitely kill it, and you might run someone off that would make a good match.

Would you say that Jonny Quest exemplifies a good or bad parenting situation... lets face it, dragging your pre-teen son along on dangerous treks with villains attempting to do him in at every turn really might be something child services might frown on....

OMG HAI!

Yep, the rumors are true: I'm still alive. Zeek emailed me the other day and I realized it's been months and months since I posted. Since before Christmas, I think. I was out of town for like 16 days after Christmas, then got sick, then started a new (contracting) job, so things have been crazy.

I can't be the only one who doesn't own any undergarments that would work with the traditional product, can I?? o_O

...Browncoat Ball in Austin this year...

Totally awesome, of course, but it's actually looking like my family may not be in Austin by this fall, which sucks. Well, one sister probably will still be there, another will be at college out of state somewhere (MIT, CMU, Stanford, or BYU, looks like), and two of my three brothers (all Browncoats) are already out of state. My parents and my youngest brother may be moving to Seattle this summer, but it's all still up in the air.

For me, I'm totally not thinking that far in advance, lol. With the new contracting job, assuming I stick around, we have a huge deadline at the end of June and another at the end of September, and then another next February, and hubby will likely be working long hours all the way up until Thanksgiving at the earliest, so who knows. I'm starting to think about going to San Diego Comic Con, but that's a pretty short drive from here so no biggy (and I already promised hubby no costumes, as a condition of going). I think I would have to have left this particular start up contracting gig (one way or another, either because the company goes under or they piss me off, which at this point I would put at about 85% chance of happening, collectively) to have the time and brain power to think seriously about the Browncoat Ball. And then of course the question is, Browncoat Ball or DragonCon? Hmmm.... But anyway, if it looks like I'm going to be there, I'll be sure to let you know, Zeek. ;)

Be in the bathroom while the other makes stinky? God no.

Leave the seat up? As my hubby has gotten better about this, I've found I care less. Just don't leave it up between bed-time and dawn, because then I'm just likely to wake you up with my surprised scream.

Squeeze from the middle of the tube? Don't care, as long as you don't throw out the tube when there's still some left in the bottom.

Leave the cap off? I buy flip-top toothpaste for a reason.

Does the toilet paper roll pitch overhand or underhand? Overhand. If hubby ever gets around to installing the toilet paper roll holder, that is.

Is 20 guys too many to have over for the football game? Having a football game on at all is too much already! Thankfully, I married a guy who only watches the Superbowl, and decides which team to back by flipping a coin.

Can I stay and watch

I think Race and Mrs. Quest were more than just friends. Ever notice that Jonny looks more like Race than Dr. Quest?

Jezebel Jade and Double Danger both had Race's number. And they could have been twins.

The Dr. I'm afraid was too busy covering up the fact that Hadji was his illegitimate son (Why else would he go everywhere the Dr. and Jonny went?) to be a very good parent. But I don't see anything wrong with putting a child in harms way; the better to Darwin them with.

End of workday approaching, so I bid you all farewell. If the home computer be willing I see you in a about an hour. If'n not have a good night.

Wow it's like a reunion thread. Flyvote's gonna be next I tells ya.

New job CK? Of your own free will or did your employer lose their mind and kick you out?

Why would someone move from Austin to Seattle? It's all rainy and gross there.

I did not expect that an imponderable member would have that product. I'm just going to leave that subject alone though. Cause I really don't want to think too much about it. Kudos on the undies choice though

As for the actual JohnnyQuest can't say that I've ever seen a single episode. Guess it never caught my eye.

Hey MsB! I've been good, mostly busy with work. My health has been great, actually -- I've been in remission since September! I was completely off pain killers from September to January, then had to take one on the way back from the vacation. Then I started working 50+ hour weeks with the new job, and have had to take a couple of rounds here and there, in the evenings. I've been on a new diet since September, and so far have been able to keep the whole thing in check, as long as I don't go off it like I did on the vacation. Which is great, because the doctors are still totally clueless.

The new job is as a full time contractor, right now, Zeek. I've technically been a contractor for just over 5 years now, so the old job didn't go away, the hours have just been reduced significantly right now. Like last week, I worked 4 days for the new place, with two of those in the office, and then Friday was completely for the old place. I just keep track of all my hours and bill accordingly. This actually isn't the first time I've done this, but it's the first time I've had more or less the same job description at both places. It does keep me from getting bored, though!

The fam might be moving to Seattle for Dad's job, same reason they moved to Austin to begin with. They really like Austin, but we lived in Oregon for about 15 years when I was a kid, and my grandpa lives just out side of Seattle now, so I'm sure it wouldn't be that much of an adjustment for my parents. My youngest brother was 3 years old when we left Oregon, and 8 when we moved to Austin though, so it might be a bit of a culture shock for him. He'll get over it, I'm sure: we moved every 2 years while I was growing up, and I seem to have turned out ok.

As far as the product, I'm actually surprised that I'm the only one. I'm just going to leave that topic alone now though, lol.

I think there's a misconception among us men folk that you ladies only wear thongs for our benefit - the g-string factor. It doesn't cross our minds that maybe you just like wearing them. So from our point of view, it would just wreck the view. On the other hand--and I really ask this in a strictly rhetorical way--how comfortable can that, er, setup be? I mean why not just invest in some good old fashioned granny panties for those 4-5 special days?

*peeks in*
JQ! CK! *minisquee* *ahem* So good to see you two back online...*hugs both*
I'm glad to hear that things are better for you physcially CK.

*hugs DTH, MsB, RIMG, NVG, Zeek, and everyone who helped cheer me up last week* Thanks a lot guys. It helped me get over that-Geek faster than I thought. Still hurting a bit, but reflecting on things are giving me some things I want to make sure that the next guy I meet doesn't have.

For JQ:

Is it okay to pee in the shower? I choose the millitary answer: "Don't ask, don't tell"

On each other? Only in cases of emergency (I live on an island -- and urine is a home remedy for man-of-war stings if there isn't any meat tenderizer immediately on hand...)

Be in the bathroom while the other makes stinky?
I'd prefer not, but it can't be helped sometimes (one bathroom and more than one person makes that an unfortunate fact)...warn and apologize if I'm taking a bath though, 'cause *ewww*....

Leave the seat up? I'd vote leaving the seat and cover down, but that's just me....
(and as for the why we don't turn on the light when we go to the bathroom is because I'm not interested in being blinded when I'm 1/4th awake thanks...)

Squeeze from the middle of the tube? I use a tube squeezer after a while that all I ask is that you don't try to squeeze the thing backwards...

Leave the cap off? I agree with CK. Flip top caps are the way to go.

Does the toilet paper roll pitch overhand or underhand? I like over the roll, but it's not battle-worthy. (Overhand makes it easier to rip the paper from the roll...underhand seems to make the roll keep going when I try it...)

Is 20 guys too many to have over for the football game? At my current place? 20 people in my place would be far too many. If I ever get a place of my own? *shrug* I have daydreams of having a home big enough for an entertainment/play area so as long as they're not stupid drunk and they help clean up afterwards, then that's fine.

Can I stay and watch from the peephole when your friends come over for a lingerie party? Um...at my place? Sure, don't know why you want to try looking into the lanai from my front door...But, I don't have girlfriends that I'd invite to a lingerie party, (and are you sure you wan to hear women being raunchy? We can be a scary group at times...)

Is having a peephole okay? It's how I make sure that the person at the front door is not some crazed stalker or criminnal of some sort. (Did you mean other places in the house? Then it depends..)

Can I try some on after they leave? Only if they're the ones you're buying and not mine.

The Carefree pads: *shrug* It makes perfect sense to me...Some women like wearing thong underwear, and the pads fill a need...

JQ: Like I said, some like it, some don't...just like some guys like boxers, some like briefs, some like boxer-briefs, some like commando, some like thong briefs, or whatever else they have... (and I think I'm one of the few who isn't sharing what I'm wearing -- or not wearing -- with you)

DTH: Why not do the whole five-year old (and under) full-body hug type thing? Where the kid wraps arms and legs 'round the adult's leg and becomes pretty much a human limpet or barnacle? *grin* That should free up an arm for FMF...

*sigh* Had a really good day today...slept a lot and did some work at home...sadly, did nothing else...

'Course this weekend Nodstroms opened where I live...Pretty place, I can see going there for the food, make up, and possibly some of the services (manicure/pedicure or waxing), and probably shoes (the shoe store has been here for practically generations) but I can't see myself buying much of anything else there -- too "high maka-maka" for me...

NVG (and anyone else in the area): I'm planning to visit 'Vegas next week for a few days...would love to meet a few fellow 'coats on Wednesday or Thursday...I'll be a typical Hawaii tourist and bring goodies from here...(shameless bribery...)

MsB: If you're in the area at the time, wanna go shopping? :biggr

mornin' Imponderables.

Jager is definitely an aquired taste, and mixing it with other things can make either delicious or disastrous results. I'll drink it if it's around, though if I have my choice, it won't get touched until I am positive that we are out of whiskey.

CK! Good to see you, darlin'. We've definitely missed having you here with us on the forums. *hugs* Glad to hear that the job and your health are both going well.

For me almost any cynical is too cynical. It only comes out when I'm actually angry about something. I tend to stay to one end of the spectrum or the other on things. Something is either fine or it's bad. I'm rarely so so on things.

Hey I have a ponder.... how cynical is too cynical?? At what point do you think that it's less cynicism and more weariness and frustrated anger??

The way I see things, frustrated anger is the heart of cynicism. And of bad skepticism (as opposed to true skepticism which honest doubt). Weariness to the point of being jaded is still just cynicism.

Having said that, I trust no one. Everyone lies. VERY few people ever have your best interest at heart. Most will never rise above their own needs, and the ones that can do so by believing themselves to be generous, all the while doing it solely for their own satifaction, gratification, self-aggrandizement or out of guilt, to ease their conscience.

And I am just not enough of a cynic (a-cynical?) to believe that people mean no good all of the time. I believe there are truly noble motives out there.

And I believe a greater love is possible. And I believe it happens. I just doubt every instance I encounter.

Oh, and DTH, here's a thought:

Psssssssssssssssssssssssss.

Just hold it. (Wait till we're in the shower...)

Wow. you folks really gave this some thought...

See "On each other? Gack. No." Some people like that kinda stuff. Actually, "want" may not be in the equation. Single bath, double occupancy, no-time-to-get-ready-you're-in-my-way might necessitate the behavior. See also "Eyes Wide Shut" TC and NC getting ready to go out to a formal, "watered down" version." No, on second thought, don't.

Now, now MSB...just a bit more and you don't have to think of THESE kids at all. Just new ones. I think pounding some of them with a hammer might jeopardize you future.

JQ...of course I know some people enjoy fetishes. There are all kinds of fetishes...some fairly tame, some il-freakin-legal. I may be the good girl, but it doesn't mean I'm naive. If a pee-er on-er finds someone who enjoys being peed on, more power to them. I question the psychology of fetish-ism and why some of them are developed, but whatever. I think some are fine, some are mildly disgusting and some are signs of some serious issues.

Whoops. Sorry for rambling. Aside from that, work still sucks donkey cock, but my Jeep is still running. So I guess it evens out.
Maybe.

Oh wow those are gorgeous. Very steampunk. Lovely work! Reminds me a bit of the pretties here: http://www.datamancer.net/forsale/forsale.htm

Yay for no more fires and the Jeep still running! Boo for work sucking donkey cock and not winning the lottery. I'm just glad that you're still hanging around these parts, and using your work-skills (tinkering with tiny parts, yes?) to make pretty things. It really is great to see you.

Back tracking, I read that you've been feeling better (Yay! \o/) and have a new contract job.
Everything going all right? Happy? Shiny? Ever going to reveal what super secret ninja awesome job you actually do?
It's so nice to see you again! Yeah, I said that already, but it's still true. ^__^

Things are definitely happy and shiny with me. I used to say that other than my health, I really had nothing to complain about. Now it's nearly embarrassing. Keeping this thing in remission requires "constant vigilance", as they say, but that's really just about avoiding certain foods now, along with the things I've been doing for years to keep infection away (Purell, etc.). So no biggy there, really. Well, other than not being able to have ice cream. That bugs me sometimes.

I both love and hate my new contracting gig -- I love that I'm able to work full time+, love that I'm getting to take on more responsibility and be in a leadership role for the first time, and I actually really like the project as well. But the people running the company, despite having the best of intentions, have made some really dumb decisions, and are more and more resembling chickens with their heads cut off. Each new "oh wait, let's do this instead" cuts down the chances that we'll actually be able to ship this thing, and a couple of their "oh wait"s are threatening to really piss me off. But hey, contractor, so I really don't care, at the end of the day.

Everything really is great. I'm getting along with all my family members right now, after spending 14 days with them in Austin and in Disney World over Christmas and New Years. My brother married a fantastic girl in January (I decided he could marry her when I found out she had all of "Charlie the Unicorn" memorized; she's a Browncoat too!), and my second niece/nephew is on the way. Really fantastically content these days.

I had a discussion with a woman on a bus while we were in Disney World, about my illness. It turns out that my brother's new wife has a different type of autoimmune arthritis that really flared on her while we were in Florida, between the traveling, the walking, and all the stress of planning her wedding, and we bonded over that. We were talking about it on the bus one night, and started talking to the woman next to us, who was in a wheelchair, also because of a

No. You may not clap excitedly. I am now picturing as Jack from Will & Grace. Stop it...and get to yoga or something so you can do a cartwheel. Flexibility is a good thing. ;)

Now, now, JQ. You're not being civil. At all. You know HK doesn't like you. We all know you have a weird infuation with her...probably because she doesn't like you. And yet you insist on making comments full of inneundo, etc.

Yes, I realize that I'm breaking up this hate party between HK and JQ (though HK's last response sounded like something I'd say. Go, kitten!)

But, I have a very serious, semi-hypothetical question. What are some good things to pack, places to go, etc. when planning to run away? I already have some stuff figured like...

-Pack as much food and water as possible
-Pack dense, nutricious stuff (power bars and the like)
-Two outfits- one summer, one winter, wear one of them according to season.
-Wear stuff with pockets so you can put extra stuff in them
-Take all your money, and maybe some of your parents (it's an investment on their part, they won't have to pay for you anymore)
-Head for a big city, it'll be a lot easier to blend in with a crowd, and I'd think people pretty much mind their business, and wouldn't be actively looking for a runaway
-Don't buy a lot of stuff- make the money last as long as possible

But, I have no idea what I'd do when I get to a big city, or where I could find an abandoned building ('cause I can't be wasting money on an apartment), and I don't even have any street smarts because I live in a hick town (thank you so much, mom&dad). So, could you guys help me out in this department?

Oh, alright. I'm sorry. But I don't think your mind is tiny or little or any other diminutive adjective you can think of. You are not a dumb California blonde. I've always enjoyed our online time together.

Two things I want to respond to and I'll stop. I don't think having a crush on HK would make anyone weird (and yes I know that's not what you meant). Her comments, lacking all innuendo, were not civil neither. But like I said I've brought that on meself.

'Looks to me like you've got the packing part pretty much all figured out, though I'll be the first to admit that I'm no expert. One thing I'm fairly au fait with, however, is big city, so I might be able to help you with that. First thing: head for the skyscrapers. They're bristling with parkings and other semi-salubrious holes for you to crawl into when you need to get some shut-eye. There's also an abundance of prosperous pedestrians who will occasionally provide you with some extra coin if you ask real-nice. From there, try out the NPO's, if you're lucky they can get you decent food, shelter and, if they have a particularly strong liking for you, maybe a little shit-job. Apart from that, well... don't talk to strangers, keep a knife handy... Oh, and pack some blankets. Lot's of them. And if you have a dog, take him with you. It'll cost you a little extra to feed it, but it'll help keeping the more adventurous lowlifes in check.

So yeah, huh, good luck!

EDIT: Huh... Why did you ask about this stuff again?

Hrmmm...why would someone ruin their life by running away? If whatever life your living right now is really that horrible (which I believe it could be) there are resources out there to get you out of the situation. Use them.

If you just can't handle being at home anymore, be creative and find a way to make it through. Instead of planning ways to runaway...plan ways to cope for a few more years (I don't know how old you are so no idea how long we're talking about here). Get a job. Play sports. Volunteer. Keep yourself out of the house as much as possible. Do your best to fly under your parent's radar (if that's possible).

Life is hard enough to get through without every advantage you can beg, borrow or steal. Running away will put you an a VERY narrow path in life.

OK I think you should start with the why you want to run away portion first. Then we'll all be in a better position to offer advice. Also how old are you? I can't imagine the streets being very safe for anyone. The younger you are the more of a target you'll be.

You're doing some planning which is good, but I think taking some time to earn some cash and get to a point where you'll be able to afford an apartment would be a good place to start. Nothing wrong with getting out on your own, but you want to set yourself up to succeed first.

HUGS!

Got a quote for y'all: "...and then you can kiss her neck, and the suck this and suck that and lick this and lick that and you can, you can actually feel the prophecy of a woman being sexy, what's called a sex object and a sex tool and a fine scandalous romantic most moveable object that a motha fucka couldn't even get if he didn't have a motha fuckin' woman."
-Russel Jones AKA ODB from the documentary Dirty Minded

Urban philosophy that can be communicated to all men.

ADD: Wish I could make it Neko. Suckage. :(

ZEEK! *hug*

LF: MsB, Rugbug, Zeek, and JQ said it better than I could've: Running away from home/moving out before you're able to support yourself puts a person at a HUGE disadvantage.

Other suggestions -- since you're still in school, do you have a friend whose parents that you get along really well with (and your parents trust)? Could you stay there for most of the time in the afternoon/evening? A youth group/activity center that is teen-friendly and safe? (I'm guessing that the problem is general friction with parents.)

I'd also suggest talking to an adult you trust -- teacher, counselor, youth group leader, relative, friend's parent...someone who can provide some insight and other assistance.

------
Lighter notes:
JQ -- I don't know where you live, but I know that there are no scorpions in my bathroom...so the comment about the scorpion made no sense to me at all.

MsB: Friday is my last day there (I have a flight later in the evening) so if we can finagle the time to get together. *finger crossed*

FMF: As much as we don't see eye-to-eye, you're getting to meet what sounds like a truly great man. You're smart, you're gorgeous, you'll charm the socks/pants/clothing of your choice off of him...

*deep calming breaths* got to remember that the kids are in "spring break" mode...

*sneaks over to the ninjakitty and gifts a shiny properly chilled can of 'Dew and one of the two ice cream sammiches that were 'liberated' from the Bar and Grill* (The other one's for me.)

Hi Neko. How's it going? I thought you were on spring break already but you mention the kids. Is this the last week before break for you?
