Shots fired. Repeat shots fired.

Well armed Male on dock, level 14. Two SS officers down, Make that three.

Other indivuduals firing from the ship. Cannot ID. (muffled thumps)

Male suspect hit but continues to fire.

More fire coming from the passengers holding area. They have people on the Skyplex.

We have to fall back. Send support.

(Head’s pounding as men drag me through the halls. From my vantage point, flat on my back, I see the strangest site I’ve seen in a while. And seeing as how my last few days have gone that’s saying something. Brit is suspended somehow from the ceiling. She has of all things a can of peaches in her hand. She looks like she’s about to strike, but I shake my head no and motion her to the ship. Someone else with her, hiding in the shadows of the hallway. Maybe I’m dreaming, still laying on Niska’s torture table. Have to be that little girl against a security force. And who the hell was backing her up?)

(They pull me up and support me as they drag me the rest of the way, We enter the dock and I see the crew, must be some dream or I’m seeing double cause there’s more crew than we used to have, They dump me in a heap on the cargo bay floor. As their backing out I see Brit slip back in, through a floor plate, of all things.)

(I take a deep breath as the crew gathers round, Dust, gun oil and the faint smell of Jasmine that the O2 scrubbers put out. I ain’t dreaming. I’m back on the Book. )

Thought I told you not to come after me. (Mobbex says something I don’t understand while someone I don’t know tends to his arm)

Strange I was with Niska. Thought I was a goner. Then these suits walk in pull him aside and they talk.

All the while his boys are still working me over. Then Niska tells em to stop. No money changes hand nothing they just stop and bring me here.

Suits weren’t Alliance, looked more like corporate types, said they had a interest in our boat.

Niska was pissed, but he let me go. Hell (reaches into front shirt pocket and pulls out a kerchief) he even gave me back my pinky finger.

(passes out)

Sorry the pinky doesn't work, I couldn't find any tendon re-attachment equipment, but if it bothers ya too much I’ll take it back off.

((It was obvious not many people knew, but Brit had a flashback, just one of the hundreds she had a day, that made her paranoid and seemingly unstable. It's true, however, what they say about her; the names they call her--wacky, freak, unstable--but those were hardly enough to describe her. There was much more to the girl than anyone ever knew, and yet hardly any seemed to seek out her true self. She knew she wasn't liked by a few on board, but that just warned her to keep her distance. It was hard for her to keep her emotions in, expecially after years of horrific experiences...))

*15 minutes later in the infirmary, Oram is cleaning up after counting the missing supplies. Brit is on the counter, gently swinging her legs and writing with a spare pencil and notepad*

Ok.... so, we're out of the basics with supplies and medicines, but what I have with me that I brought aboard will bring it up to scratch.
You see anything that we might need?
I still don't see how a person can use so many toungue depressers.

Sorry, friend. Based on the layout of the other shuttle (they seem smallish), things are going to be a bit tight between my own sleeping requirements and the tools of my trade. Those poker/blackjack/tall card tables can take up a wee bit of room, not to mention if I acquire a roulette table.

I should look into one of those newer combo units that just came out. Heard good reviews from the House on them. After all, I have a nice tidy fortune here that Niska was nice enough to leave with me. Hmmm...

Remember that time we rode on that liner from Persephone to Boros? They had overbooked and we sat on the floor while we ate dinner because there were not enough chairs. You weren't the one that wore your dinner when they had to swerve to avoid hitting a piece of debris nearby the ship.

** I wake up in the infirmary. Click on the overhead lamp. I sit up and the pain of the beating I took is still there, but tolerable. I spot a bowl of stew on the counter, even cold it’s delicious. I hear voices coming from the Galley so I take the back way up to the Bridge. Wash has no less than a dozen plastic dinosaurs, all over the console. Talking for each one in turn, she acts out some big dino migration. **

And people think Brit’s the crazy one.

** Wash sweeps the dinos into a small bucket and sits up all business like. If it didn’t hurt so much to laugh I would have. She reports we’ll be on St. Albans soon to pick up our mechanic. **

Good, we lost the mule when they took me. Till we get a replacement the port shuttle is all we have to move cargo over distance. Hop on the Cortex when we get there and see if you can find a nearby swap meet or flea market. Our new passenger said she could pay the lease deposit. ‘Bout time we started fixing this place up.
*I head down towards the Galley. I see a leather pouch hanging from my bunk rail. Inside is the coin from Mobbex and Wash’s side of the weapons deal.*

Half what we should have, but enough to pay the crew. Our shuttle gamer couldn’t have come along at a better time.

*The rest of the crew is standing around the table eating the stew. *

Abbey, I see no problem with your requests. The starboard shuttle is yours. *To all the crew* I know we’ve been livin rather meagerly out here, but that’s about to change. We got a mechanic coming onboard so time to get organized.

The five crew quarters up front. I’m first you come to on the right. Our mechanic will be taking the next berth. On the left side will be the first mate, then Mobbex and Wash closest to the bridge.

The five passenger’s dorms are in the rear, Padre Invictus has the first on the right and Brit had taken up next door to him. Doc that gives you either the centers near the shower but I think the last one on the left might suit you better. It’s in a straight line to the infirmary.

Now that we got a little coin we’ll be setting down on St. Albans. Gonna find a swap meet or such to get some furnishings. I’ll supply better beds, a chair of sorts for each room and stuff for the common areas. Your quarters are your responsibilities.

Ok.... so, we're out of the basics with supplies and medicines, but what I have with me that I brought aboard will bring it up to scratch.
You see anything that we might need?
I still don't see how a person can use so many toungue depressers.

*skims through notes while swinging her legs* It seems we are low on chronic and minor painkillers. We also have a low stock of adrenaline which will last us approximately 38 days and a supply of about 2 months of novacane and minor numbing agents.

Possible date for restocking... hopefully within the next two weeks. We will probably only be able to afford the least expensive ones depending on how much money we have made in the past few days. Hopefully within these next weeks we can get another job for more money so we can afford the painkillers as well as the numbing agents.

If we restock these few items we'll have approximately another 6 months before having to restock our inventory again.

All right cap'n, 'supplies were fairly rudimentary, mostly lead balls and a few copperheads, but I still got us two stacks of 9 mill rounds, plus a whole crate of 5.56 gauge for the repeaters and some .45 ACP's for my personal favorite.

Nice, huh? I looted it from some rich kid with a little extra attitude, back on Persephone. 'Called it "Tearjerker" *gives the pistol a fond look*

No, it's just the start. A delivery truck will be arriving shortly. Could you point them in my direction? Everything will be going to the shuttle.

*Captain stands tall and defiantly. 'I hope you ain't expecting us to carry all you stuff up there.'* abbey smiles at him again.

Of course not, Captain. They will be carting it up to the shuttle all on their own. I got the service thrown in due to my intimidating pocketbook.

*A small delivery truck pulls up as they are talking. abbey points them in the direction of the shuttle and a whole passle of delivery guys start bringing mulitple cases of cigars of various kinds, alcohol a plenty, loads of textiles, and several kinds of delicacies from the area.

Mobbex sees items that are coming in and says 'party in abbey's shuttle!' abbey rolls her eyes and follows delivery men up to shuttle*
