[she requested this as a plotline WITHIN the 'guidelines' of VFF]
just like saffron in 'Our Mrs. Reynolds'.

The VFF 'BROWNCOAT' was sistership to the VFF 'INDEPENDENCE' and was an '01' model
[no extenders] but is being modified to be a 'clone' 03 [03X]

The VFF BROWNCOATS ship id # is 03X-K64-FFF-00 [1st clone ship]

this ship is 'invitation only', by request.

just use this one: i copied and pasted it from the address bar above.
this thread will eventually show everyone that signed up so you'll have a 'history'.
this thread will also show up on the home page, easy to find because i used capitals.
be patient, it usually takes a week to fill at least a skeleton crew [ capt., pilot, 1st mate, mech.] to get you flying.

If ya still a lookin for a mechanic, then I'm your man. I'm been putterin around machines for much of my life. I like ground vehicles best but i've had a share of time in a flyin rig too.

I also have some schoolin in how to use a gun. I prefer to be working on some machine but if ya need an extra gun then I can pitch in. Don't let the bum leg fool you I can still move around a bit.

Well Taber, it seems you are welcome on the Browncoat. Take whatever bunk you like except 4 and 2. The couplers along with the fuel rods and cells need to be replaced, and the turbine needs to be looked at. Let me know whatever parts you need and what not and I'll see if I can help you.

Taber slings his ruck sack over his shoulder and begins to limp away, favoring his right full leg. He left leg is completely gone and replaced by what once was a high quality prosthetic, which unfortunately is in serious need of repair.

[muttering to himself as he walks away] "a new gorram crew on a new ruttin' boat. Why do I always end up in situations like this. I guess it is the price I pay."

Taber goes into engine room and just stares. "Ta Ma Duh! Juh Shi Suh Mo Go Dohng Shee?" He starts moving off lose items and putting them in the corner. "Buhn Dahn, Who put their laundry in this thing. Ok back to the basics on this thing."

Taber starts pulling things everything that needs replacing. He is certain to leave things that can 'make do' for now but what MUST be replaced is yanked out and tossed in a pile in the back corner. Anyone passing by the room will hear various strings of unpleasant Chinese phrases aimed at the ship, the engine, unknown people in general and someone's mother.

When Taber is done he will notify Palmer of the parts he needs. The list is broken into things that must be replaced immediately to get off the ground, those things that can wait but not recomended, and parts that will wait until later if necessary. There is even an additional list of things that will improve the ships performance.

Taber looks up at the question from palmer, his face and clothes already covered in grease. His left prosthetic off and leaning near the door. He pulls himself from out of under a portion of the engine. "Hey, Palmer, things ain't so bad that I can't fix it. It will take some work though. Last mechanic didn't take too good care of this thing. Nothin' I can't handle.", he points his head towards a scrap of paper by the door. "I got me a list of things I'll need. The ones on top are ones I'll be needing mighty fast."

She steps over him (he is passed out from too much ginger beer) and walks onto the bridge and starts to take apart all the wires on the pilots panel,And hooks up her own She glances over at Fat Captian to see him still passed out with drool coming out of his mouth. SAFFRON ties up Fat captian and with her 4 inch heels rolls him off the ship and takes off with the BrownCoat.
