Oh I'm so glad there's a new thread! I almost went and created a new one myself, but what would a pic thread be without Rose to start it.

Oh, Rose hunny, I hate to see you so sad. But I gotta say you look beautiful no matter how you are feeling.

Since there were a few 'family photos' I thought I'd add these to the mix! Mostly on my 40th birthday when my whole family, together for the first time in years, went to Puffing Billy in the Dandenongs near Melbourne - my 5 neices and nephews...

My sisters and I goofing it up for Dad who used to take photos of us when we were kids and make us point at nothing to make the photo 'more interesting'

And my Mum & Dad at my actual party the following week

Okay,
1. Audrey looks really surprized at the infringement of her bubble

2. That is my normal face. When I smile normally my mouth goes kinda flat. If I smile too big I look like a Rottweiler pissed that someone is too close to its food dish. Okay, so for those who weren't around (and those who may have forgotten) this one requires some backstory.
I have this black cotton skirt. When I got it I thought it was a little plain, so I decided to add some color. Patches didn't really seem right, so I just started sewing colorful thread into it. Eventually the spots of color became more than just that; they took on some shape. The faux embroidery ended up being representations of people in my life. As a few of those people left my life, I didn't want to tear all the thread out, so I crossed one out with red, then another, then added red to another one as a kind of metaphorical blood, and so on. Mostly, it made the original shape difficult or impossible to see, or surrounded it, or something.
So, there was one I did that I was more proud of than any other. It was the most interesting and well-rendered bit of faux embroidery I've done. Due to recent... circumstances, I felt the need to alter it, but I didn't want to obscure or ruin it.

I'm still proud of it, and of how well it represents what it represents.

You may say I'm a dreamer. But I'm not the only one.

Aviation Fire Control Tech, then the Navy did away with that job & made me into an Aviation Electronics Tech. Along the way made AT1 (AW).
Spent a few years in Mayport aboard the Saratoga. Is the 4th floor there at Jax still the psych ward? I heard a story or two about that place while I was in the area.

Not that I know of. They're renovating the place, so I forgot where they moved it, considering it's been moved like 7 times in the 4 months since I've been here.

THIS, I have to say, was ONE HELL OF A SURPRISE!!!!!

Yepper - that's me and the lovely and wonderful Magda, last night at CSTS Boston!!!! She showed up with Frank at the volunteer dinner and I was like, WHAT THE FRA....?!!!?!! It was bloody excellent as was, but having Magda with us made it downright AWESOME!!!!

ETA: Aaand here's the NEBC birthday boy and girl (mine was today and hers is, I believe, on Tuesday). How shiny is it to have two crew birthdays right around Uncle Joss's? You be the judge.

I don't plan on any shootin' taking place during this job.

/wheeeeeeee!! It was so wonderful to see your reaction when you realised I was walking through the door behind Frank!! (Naughtyman) I had a wonderful time and, of course, the NEBC made me feel like instant family!! Steamer/Chris is a natural Captain, and he does the whole persona really well! The main raffle item for the night was the uniform worn in the scene where Mal shoots the Alliance guy on Haven, and they had a volunteer hold it (was that you Holly?) and Chris reenacted the speech where Mal ends with the line, "There are plenty or ways for a man to die, and I ain't going to lie down and wait for the Alliance to chose mine! *blam!*" Wonderful! This man has talent!!

I phoned Rose the next morning and passed on you hugs and love too Steamer! It weems we're having MySpazz issues with communications again! :(

I havent been able to upload my own pics from Friday yet, but as soon as I do you shall all see the fun we had in Boston! And I get to party with the SEBC again next Sat at their shindig!

It took me awhile to get around to this (not because I'm busy or anything...but because I'm lazy :P) But here are some pics...

This one is older than the pool picture. But this was taken at Cracker Barrel and they had pickels in bags...I thought it was odd...
Also I do wear glasses.....just not alot.

Another at Crackle Barrel....note how we created the illusion of me being bigger by making my oldest sister's boyfriend and sillyhats sit in the small rocking chairs while i sit in the big one.

Love your pic too WakeUp! I have one of me as a teen with a big fringe too somewhere... obligatory stuff, yeah!

Frank and I are having a lovely time together! I just feel so happy and relaxed... unfortunately he still has commitments, including a rehearsal tonight for his Renaisance group, The Seven Hills Ensemble. They have a huge concert coming up and it's really important they do well coz it could make or break them. He also plays in Urban Myth if there are any Ren/Medieval music fans out there.

I took some pics for a flickr group project on Sat, these are a few - the theme is 'A Day in the Life of... 21st June 2008', and the additional theme was 'green'

Just an observation... Without having read anything in someone's posts to the contrary, I tend to base gender impressions on avatars, which often don't match the poster's gender. If I'm really curious, I look at the profile. If it says male, I believe it. If it says female, I tend to believe it. If it doesn't specify, I think female, 'cause, nobody with manparts is likely gonna have reason to hide that fact.

Me, I get, "Oh, you're a GUY?" all the time, just based on the name. Say it with me, now: "RAYcheetah. RAY." As in, Raymond, not, Martha Raye.

As proof, I present my image. Younger posters, and, the faint of heart, may wish to avert their gaze:

It means that, if a board member profile provides an option for gender, if the entry is female, a man isn't likely to have reason to fake being female (that I want to think about).

If the entry indicates male, again, I accept that by default, given that a female who wanted to conceal her gender seems more likely simply opt for gender anonymity by not listing a gender, at all, something a man wouldn't have any reason to do, unless he was simply incredibly lazy.

And, since most men would have no positive reason not to list their gender, I tend to assume that members who don't list a gender are female, since it's pretty easy to select gender, even for the laziest guy.

I am certain exceptions exist, but in an environment where gender can be hazy if not explicitly stated, it works for me.
