My wife says I do. I have not watched any DVD's other than Firefly and Serenity. Am I alone in this? Or is this "normal". Don't get me wrong I have a life but since most tv shows and movies these days are crap! I feel that my Firefly/Serenity collection is the best I've seen in years.

I think a lot of folks here, maybe everyone, has gone thru this phase. Personally, I'm pretty much still in it after 3 years of the wonderful affliction. Having Firefly close at home helps me greatly to get back to something that I truly love when I need it, and something that always makes sense to me in this increasingly challenging world.

Everyone at this site has a Firefly addiction. When it comes to Firefly, it's hard not to have one. I think any interesting person has an obession of some kind.

I too have a firefly addiction i cant stop watching them, my only worry is that i watch them so much they will lose thier thrill.
but i found the cure i go on firefly marathons so to speak and watch loads of episodes and completely envelope myself in the firefly verse and then dont watch them for a couple of weeks. It's a good system.
Firefly's too pretty to die!

Amen.
That and I've found so many shiny people here and at other Firefly sites. It's also motivated me to do things that I've thought about, but never had the nerve to do...specifically, write.
It's also put me in contact with other people of passion and inspired by Firefly/Serenity we've banded together to make this world just a little bit brighter.

It will tone down-- you will reach the point of not watching Firefly every day. You will watch other videos and television. Days may pass without watching.
But there'll always be this little voice whispering, " Hey, pal, how 'bout a quick hit of Jayne? Mebbe a little shot of ... River?"

Buffy helps a lot. Dollhouse will help even more.

Ever since I started Firefly in 2005, literally every show I've watched has been compared to it......and I'm convinced I'll never see a show as well written. don't get me wrong, I do watch other things. but I've never watched a series........dozens of times through like I have firefly and serenity.

I once wondered if I would ever find another show as good as Due South. Then I found Dark Angel and had some respite.
Then I found Firefly, as good as Due South. perhaps there will be another as good at some point.
Although my patience with TV has waned, i fear I will miss the next decent show when it airs, like FF.
Perhaps we should think of our practice not as addiction, but maintaining a certain threshold of quality - what else is there?

It's great being a fan of a tv-series.
I love Due South as well. I was in Toronto last year where it was filmed. Great to see the locations.

Just saw another ep of DaVinci's Inquest, noticed a Firefly - Due South link. Callum Keith Renny ?sp? apparently was a character in DI, and Jewel was his daughter.

You aint alone on this one, The only thing on Tv these days is reality stuff like big brother which i would rather insert red hot pokers into myself than watch so my firefly dvd and serenity are on quite a bit. I do watch other things but firefly and serenity take up alot of my viewing time its quality tv which is rare these days. If tv companys cant attatch a premium phone line to a show then it doesnt get shown in england maybe thats where firefly went wrong. If it had a phone in at the end of every episode then it may still be around today (thats me just being sarcastic)

I dunno, it's not a bad thing to be addicted to Firefly. It's better than being addicted to drugs. It doesn't hurt the body.
Now for myself? Looks at her Firefly/Serenity stuff...maybe I'm a little addicted (even if I haven't watched the show in it's entirely in a while).

There is no cure, BONES helps for me but, every now and then, I have to put Firefly or Serenity into the DVD player. Also, Family Guy may help you thru the hard times.

It's not an addiction.
It's a LIFESTYLE.

There are worse things you can be addicted to. Like Star Trek. *hides from the Trekkies in a secure location with cable* Oh, look! SpikeTV is playing TNG right now!

I have 2 sets of everything, the series and the bdm, on dvd. One for lending and viewing, the other for keeping. When Universal showed the series again earlier this summer, I made a point to watch each episode.
