Beatrice: I wonder that you will still be talking, Signior Benedick; nobody marks you.

Benedick: What, my dear Lady Disdain! Are you yet living?

Beatrice: Is it possible disdain should die when she hath such meet food to feed it as Signior Benedick? Courtesy itself must turn to disdain, if you come in her presence.

Benedick: Then courtesy is a turncoat. But it is certain I am loved of all ladies, only you excepted; and would I could find it in my heart that I had not a hard heart, for, truly, I love none.

Beatrice: A dear happines to women; they would else have been troubled with a pernicious suitor. I thank God and my cold blood, I am of your humor for that; I had rather hear my dog bark at a crow than a man swear he loves me.

Benedick: God keep your ladyship still in that mind! so some gentleman or other shall 'scape a predestinate scratched face.

Beatrice: Scratching could not make it worse, an 'twere such a face as yours were.

XD i memorized that for recitation in my shakespeare class XD best. exchange. ever.

though i hold that dogberry is the craziest son of a bitch ever. XD i recited one of his speeches too, right after the beatrice benedick one :P awesome.

I *love* that play

I think it is my favorite. First it is a comedy. And I like Shakespeare's comedies then how easily Beatrice and Benedick get fooled. I got the film with Denzel Washington.

I memorised Henry V's speech to his army before fighting the French. Don't ask me to quote it. My mind empties as fast as it is filled. I just know "band of brothers" because it is a title of a TV mini series on the 101st Airbourne Division.

1. mu

"Mu" is the correct answer to the classic trick question "Have you stopped beating your wife yet?". Assuming that you have no wife or you have never beaten your wife, the answer "yes" is wrong because it implies that you used to beat your wife and then stopped, but "no" is worse because it suggests that you have one and are still beating her. According to various Discordians and Douglas Hofstadter the correct answer is usually "mu", a Japanese word alleged to mean "Your question cannot be answered because it depends on incorrect assumptions".

Hackers tend to be sensitive to logical inadequacies in language, and many have adopted this suggestion with enthusiasm. The word "mu" is actually from Chinese, meaning "nothing"; it is used in mainstream Japanese in that sense, but native speakers do not recognise the Discordian question-denying use.

yeah, its definitely my favorite, and i've seen the film. Kenneth Branaugh is obsessed XD

love that speech. my history teacher memorized it for our european studies class sophomore year in high school.

did you see carwood lipton (pretty sure it was him anyway) in the little interviews they had in the beginning of each band of brothers ep? i think it was like the last ep, where they had the interviews at the end, where he quoted that exact line in the Henry V "we happy (he says lucky) few, we band of brothers, for he today that sheds his blood with me today shall be my brother." good speech.

It is like a Mobius strip. There is no end.
Mu: There is no answer.
Moot: Having no practical significance.

Is it me or does anyone else find it strange all these words begin with the letter M.

I've know about this loop, but just discovered its name as I was looking up moot. It startled me how it follows a similar logic. You can not reach the end just like you can not answer a "mu" question.

Having taken cabs in Chicago I believe that is their normal procedure. I have actually had one cab driver act as a tour guide. Pointing out every woman that met his strict requirements.

With a finger pointing straight ahead he would exclaim,"Look at the number".
