I actually don't know, I never saw the ep with him on Craig Fergesun. I only remember seeing a vid of him on set when they were doing cast interviews/shorts and whatnot and he was just wearin a kilt. like the goof he is XD

I'm not sure how I feel about that. A few Firefly jokes were funny in the beginning but now that aren't as fuuny to me. They are 2 seperate shows, let's just keep it that way.

I mean, what if Joss keep adding Buffy jokes all throughout Dollhouse? Wouldn't that get old?

Besides, How in the heck did Nathan get a hold of a Mal costume? eBay?

Hmm, I actually didn't think there were THAT many shout-outs. I haven't been fully convinced that the brown leather jacket that Castle wears sometimes is meant to be a reference, and I really only recall one blatantly obvious Firefly reference last season: the very special hell. Everything else that people say has been a reference really feels like a stretch to me.

I think it's more likely he was having a bit of fun, he's known to pull pranks and goof around a lot on set. He's also pretty much said that when he auditioned for the role of Richard Castle, he used his roles in Firefly and Dr. Horrible to show that he could pull off both the comedic timing, attitude (and, from captain hammer), the smarm. The cast and crew are all aware of this, and showing up Mal-ified would probably be good for a laugh.

I hope you are right. I hope it was just a prank he pulled with the cast.

I'm not worried about the writers putting in lil "winks" for us.
I'm a bit more disturbed by Nathan's "shameless" plugs.

OMG! Just watched the sneak preview. Not only do we have Cap't Tightpants back, but there's also a Buffy mention! Can't wait to see this on Hulu! (I missed it tonight bc I had night class tonight and no TIVO!)
This could start a trend on other TV shows staring Firefly alumni. Alan Tudyk as Alpha on Dollhouse could wear an Hawaiian shirt and "juggle geese". Morena could put on a colorful dress and bring out that mysterious syringe on V !

Just watched it on Hulu. Shiny Awesome!!!!
I must have watched the opening sequence about a dozen times. You should see the reaction on Hulu's board. Browncoats do watch this show (and on Hulu) because the comments, mostly excitable, were truly amazing.

I will not ever miss an episode. The coat, the gun, the suspenders, the FF music - I almost cried (tears of joy folks, tears of joy).
And that line about moving on was shiny.

Have seen some eps of Castle, and it is commercial as heck, but I like the show. Not the ordinary crime show, which is good. More humour, I believe.

Castle is not Firefly, but Nathan is doing a good job as a pompous author.

Just saw the episode last night because we didn't have TV and I squeeled like a little girl. The set up was perfect. The boots, the tan trousers, the gun belt, the suspenders, the browncoat... and finally him. Nathan Fillion as Richard Castle as Malcolm Reynolds... perfect. Sigh.. I just had to share my excitement.
