Time for a new addition to the ongoing saga of Browncoat purdyness!

If you're so inclined, please post a picture of yourself so we can all see who we talk to here

Please try to avoid very large images that stretch and break the thread.

How to post images here: http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.asp?b=5&t=29479
(Short version: Image must be hosted somewhere on the internet and all you need is the URL. Photobucket, imageshack, and flickr are your friends. See above-linked thread for further details, or click 'reply with quote' to see how others have done it.)
Also, PLEASE NOTE: the tutorial thread is an excellent resource and we don't want it to get overloaded and weighed down. Please test your image posts in one of the many 'test' threads scattered over the board, particularly out of the way in troll country, or start your own to help keep the tutorial nice and easy to load.

Most recent picture thread: http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.asp?b=11&t=39855

Um, I have nothing new, so here's my favorite photo ever in the world.

Post, comment, chat, have fun!

(Thanks Steamer!)

Well then, brace yourself for a kitty bonanza.
I FINALLY got shots of all but one of the feline horde, so I'll give the 5 of 6 set here.

SQUIRMY

MOLLY

GHOSTER

PUPPY

KALLISTA

Lexi won't come out from under the bed while I've got the camera, but just imagine a fatter Kallista with a skinny tail.

Just popping and checking the pics, saw the question on the due date for the new NVG/MsA addition, and wanted to share that first borns are usually (not always) a little early. But a Halloween baby would be cool.

The kitty pics remind me to get some current shots of the furkids in my own house.

Three shepherd mixes and one slightly larger than teacup sized wire haired Chihuahua.

Maybe tomorrow after work.

I'll see what I can do - it's actually kind of difficult to get a picture of a cat without the evil glowing eyes thing because of the flash, you have to wait till they're not looking at you, and it's not like they cooperate so well when you have a shiny thing in your hands, meh.

I can toss in some pictures of the local indoor/outdoor kitties who are fond of me, my feline auxiliaries if you will.

GINGER

NOOBIE

Noob is kinda skittish, but cute in that that one has this enormous fluffy tail half the size of it's body.

NITWIT

Some of the neighbors call him Hitler-Kitty cause of the mustache, but he's just too sweet for that, although he doesn't have enough self preservation to not run out into the street to greet me, so I am always pickin him up and puttin him back down on the sidewalk.

And so he flops back and starts muggin for the camera, such a ham, he is.

Here's a couple of the Bunnies, we got two sets of em now, cause another moved in from the east side a bit.

Not so good, but getting close enough to get a picture isn't easy cause they're quite skittish.

This one is a bit better - my names for em are Cadbury, Hershey, Lindt and Godiva (the female) cause the first thing I thought of when I first saw em was wanting a Cadbury creme egg, hehe.

*diggin through files*

Here's Ghoster being contemptuous of my attempts to get a decent picture.

And Puppy with about the same reaction.

And Squirmy giving me a look like imma nut for pestering her with the camera instead of throwing milk rings for her to chase.

All I got presently, but when it finally snows I shall try to get you some shots of just how beautiful the fans of snow crystals billowing in the security lights are - it's really awesome if I can manage to get it to "film" (memory card).

(I know it's a picture thread, but this will interest you regardless, I think)

Quote:

Frem... wow you're like the kitty pied piper...

That is more true than you know.

While I don't have any pictures to go with it, alas, I used to deliver flyers for a little while when I was younger, and would usually wind up with the neighborhood cats following me - I have a way with em that borders on downright supernatural.
And when I later read O'Barr's The Crow graphic novels, the cats following the main character completely weirded me.

Reason I mention this is cause in the course of my work for site three recently I nailed a trio of burglar wannabes red-handed, goods in hand - set the local PD on em before they even got the getaway car rolling, and they were ran down, captured and all of the goods returned, all in the course of an hour or so, but the resident was a bit distraught that his cat Evey had gotten out during this and was nowhere to be found.

So for the next two days, with some help from the resident in question, we tracked his cat across the entire complex, using the territorial reactions of the other cats and local wildlife to indirectly determine where she had gone, and finally narrowed it down to a patch of heavy undergrowth on the hill behind a certain building, which we were unable to get into because of the slope and how thick it was, not to mention a pretty territorial skunk way down at the bottom of it who we seriously didn't want to upset.

As it was off and on raining, said kitty wasn't going to travel very far, and also might have had difficulty getting back up over the small concrete wall and fencing on that side, so we put down a couple ramps made from boards, and soon as the rain let up a bit, put her food and scratching post out on the porch to give her a scent marker to follow, and sure enough, a couple hours later she comes strolling back in.

I wasn't kidding when I said the local wildlife are my auxiliaries - by watching their behavior, I know when someone else is out there, and in a general sense, where they are - and after finding Evey like that, no one around here thinks it's a joke, heh heh.

Oh wait, I DO have a pic for you - this HUGE fregamekkin bug was on my screen when I came off the first round and a got a shot of that monster.
*digs out the file*

Li'l sis! I so want to visit you in Nevada one day... soon! I would love to see that countryside for myself!

Here's a few from the last month or so, since I moved to London! I am really enjoying my new job, and the little boy is delightful, if somewhat stubourn!! I have also caught up with a few friends since I've been here! 2 of them browncoats whom I initially met online!

Sarah & Victoria live near Nottingham, where my cousin Ben & his girlfriend live - Vicky is a member of the 76th Battalion, and we met up when they came to London to watch the Tampa Buccaneers V New England Patriots.

This is Wembley Stadium where the game was held last Sunday...

The day before I'd caught up with Nikki from Melbourne whom I met through SerenityOz, an Aussie browncoat site! We've hung out before!

On the road, of course.

MalsWay and I took a six-mile walk around the neighborhood this morning and I brought the (dreaded) camera and took pictures along the way. I joked that I was "hunting" roadrunners... which I was, actually. They are a few around here, and I've wanted to get a picture of one for years. I got about a half dozen pictures, but the subject was not very cooperative. *snort*

I hope you and yours are doing well!

Hee! I'm getting rather clucky myself, jie jie! May need to start looking for a man who wants to be a daddy. You know, once I finish this whole school thing. If I ever do, since right now it feels neverending!

Hey, here's an interesting tidbit for all the new parents. Scientists have found that momma's milk has certain stem cells in it, and they think this could help baby's continued muscle and bone development outside the womb. I thought that was pretty amazing stuff.

Yup Rose and there are over 100 compounds in breast milk they can neither identify or duplicate.. hence why you should only do formula if there's no other choice

Not to take away from the cuteness of the kiddo pics...

Helped out on the traffic control for a house move in Stowe VT last Friday. On Tuesday, the moved the main part of the structure (Almost a mile) and on Friday, they moved the roof. The building was the original one room schoolhouse which has now been moved next to the elementary school as a muesum.

Anyway.. on to the pics...

MsA,

I had to take my daughter home on Sunday (she lives in Stead, NV) and I got stuck for a few hours due to the snow fall. Well, that and my snapping my widshield wiper blade that had frozen over.

So I took a sick day yesterday, only to find out that UNR had closed for the day due to the snow conditions. Needless to say, they were nice and did not charge me a sick day, but still!

It was -1 degree this morning at 6:30am. I thought I left that kind of weather behind in Michigan! That's eyeball fogging/booger freezing weather!
