I only replying to this because I know you NC Browncoat and you will not flame me for saying this but.......

Yes, our Captain has gain some lbs. That's okay with me though...I don't mind my men with a little extra.

The only problem is that it does make him look heavier on TV. Especially when working alongside such tiny ladies who are like toothpikes!

A friend of mine from High School, Tim Omundson had to lose a lot of weight to look like a starving mayor on Jericho. He looked thinner then he did in HS!

There's lots of pressure for both men and women on TV and in the movies to have to keep up "perfect" bodies. And the clothes on Castle haven't been too flattering lately.

I wonder if the weight gain was for a role? I know Nathan is doing something with James Gunn again.

He was too skinny in Firefly IMO. Perfect in Serenity. Too muscle-y in Dr. Horrible.

I remember Nathan's story from the Serenity commentary that his reward for doing the shirtless, Inara wave scene was a donut and a Dr. Pepper that was on a monitor just out of camera range. :)

LOL! I just remembered that story too! And I LOVE Dr. Pepper!

There is a lot of crazy pressure on men & women to be thin on TV.

Personally, we need more "real" looking women like Mircale Laurie & Christina Hendricks. Not all women out there are a size zero so it's nice to see all body types on TV.

As for men, I do like extra meat. If it looks like I can out-weight the guy on my bathroom scale, it turns me off. That why I also dig the likes of Seth Rogen & Jason Segel

I can't wait to see Seth as the Green Hornet!
