Okay, this is crazy. The top ship on page six was actually created by one of our own, Werzbowski. The link is to the physical model created by John Douglass ( www.artships.com). No clue how it made it's way into the comic, but it is the same ship. No question about it.

Woah...that's crazy!!!! I mean, it's one thing to put something in the comic as a homage to the fans, but that level of copying without so much as a line of credit to the original creators...hmm...

There's even yet another ship under "other ships" used in the comic...it's in the picture with the dozen or so models...

Wow...and most of the ships in the hull of the Reaver ship are from that same site...including Bellflower...

Actually... just got done replying to an email from Mr Patric Reynolds, the artist on Float Out... He did send in an acknowledgement of his inspirations to Dark Horse, but they failed to print it for some reason.

I told him that I for one was honored that Artships & I were able to inspire him, and thanked him for making the ships look so good.

First ship looks like photoshop of the photo with 180 horizontal flip with an art filter. Takes 30 seconds work to duplicate the "artwork". Or 15 minutes if you're me.

Doggone it.

I feel somewhat responsible. I created the CG copies of the ships for the Bellflower fan film.

That's how they ran across them at QMx's Bellflower launch site.

I surely hope they gave John some credit for creating the original model. We may be fans but we're not idiots.

Well... as the designer and builder of the Bellflower (hero model rebuilt by Gordon Robb), the Autumn Jade and all of those "other ships" it would have been nice to have been contacted before they published my I.P... I have no contract with Dark Horse or QMx that allows permission to republish my work. There is only an implied permission to use depictions of those ships in promotion of the "Bellflower" fan film on the QMx site... Certain liberties were taken with some of the Serenity Tourism Posters, but I don't mind that so much... But this is just plain wrong... Just because it's on the web doesn't make it public domain... are Dark Horse going to send me free copies of the comics? Are they going to credit me for my artwork/designs? Hmmm... I didn't do any of this for the money... I did it to get my name out there, and make a few contacts... way to screw me over, Dark Horse...

I find it dissapointing that so many people on the bellflower contributed so much time into these models, designs and concepts, that a group of individuals could use our works for commercial gain.

I have written to darkhorse stating they are in breach of bellflower copyright and that action will be taken.
I havent spent this much time on this film to see my ship and verse used in this manner.

These people should be ashamed.

I am pleased to say that the Scott Allie from Dark horse comics will be printing an official appology to the Bellflower for the illegal use of its art in the next issue of Buffy.
They will also be making a donation to charity on behalf of Bellflower.
Scott will arrange for other appologies to be released in other net media.

All artists will be given credit for their work in upcoming releases of the comic.

Scott Allie and Darkhorse have been absolutely wonderful in regard to this matter, and I can only say thankyou to them for their respect and support.
