Titan Books has an article up about Christina Hendricks' legacy on Firefly, which includes an excerpt from one of the Official Companions that has never been seen online.

Good article.
My favourite bit:
Quote:
One topic often discussed about Hendricks is her stunning figure, so it should come as no surprise that back when filming Firefly, costume designer Shawna Trpcic had this to say:
"Saffron [Christina Hendricks] was a lot of fun. She had a challenging figure, because usually on TV, actresses are shaped like little boys and she was an incredibly shapely woman, so she was one of my favorites."
It's not personal. It's just war.

Ha, I just had a thought. Someone I used to know used to have a thing for redheads, like ONLY redheads, and it occurs to me they're probably a huge fan of Christina right now.

Aren't we the lucky ones to have seen her first?

Yes, we are!
Great article and, of course, gifted actress.
The more I see her and Nathan getting their props in the main stream media the more excited I get because both reference Firefly, which leads to Serenity, which (I hope, I hope) could lead to Serenity 2.
Just sayin'

Well I knew she was going to get bigger. How many folks out of firefly moved on to bigger and maybe better things. Stargate and Reno 911 produced alot of first timers to move on too. Saffron cult status.

Quote:Wouldn't that just be one of those "cults" where you give them all your money and then the person in charge moves to the Bahamas?

We applied the cortical electrodes but were unable to get a neural reaction from either patient.

Yeah, but they'd have to send a smoking hot red head to my house to take it from me. :D

A cult, yes, but I was thinking more along the Roman Catholic model. We need a patron saint of female pulchritude - unless there is one already. Any experts in the crowd, please chime in on this one. At a minimum, the divine Miss H is surely blessed. Certainly, we who have the pleasure of gazing upon her features are, or at least fortunate.
Occurs to me that a problem with the Saint model here is, of course, you have to be dead.
Perhaps a different approach is required.

Somehow, while her figure is miraculous, I'm not so convinced she'd be a saint...unless we're using similar criteria to Saint Jayne. ;)

Well, any excuse will do, of course, but even those not so monochromatically inclined will still fancy one of our favorite female thespians.
(Yes, I could have simply identified CH an 'actress' but it's nowhere nearly as alliterative.)

First?
She was on an MTV late-nite soap in the late 90's.
