Very sad
I remember him from the old Si/Fi movie Forbidden Planet. That movie had a robot that was the inspiration for the one that was used in the 1960s television series Lost in Space.

If you're unaware, The Naked Gun movies were based on and preceded by TV series called Police Squad, which is as good if not better. Alas, it was too good for TV and killed after only 6 episodes were produced... same old story.
I highly recommend tracking down the videos if you haven't seen it. Or, even if you have.
