Maniac - I posted Rowan's Response in RP19. We've never discussed Book's goal in engaging Rowan, but if you wanna, send me an e-mail.

St. Jayne - You're killing me, man! Jayne's got a pretty broad imagination - who knew?

CapnRahn - I mean DragonflyDirector -In case you haven't see it yet, I posted an advisement on the location of Rowan's handcomp - which is to say she has it with her in the galley. I got two options for you - that her sourcepad breaks the relative silence in the cabin, or the handcomp SHE HAS WITH HER (and has been using to control the holo-billiards system) is set to vibrate when a signal comes into the sourcepad.

The handcomp/handheld isn't in Rowan's darkened room. It's in the waistband of her pants. She keeps it with her, and has been using it to control the holo billiards system. You could have the sourcepad break the relative silence.

I like handcomp rather than handheld too. Which means I need to go back and do some editing.

I musta misread or misremembered where (or which handcomp or sourcepad) the durn thing was ... bugger! I shoulda figgered that Rowan would have her handcomp on her at all times.

OK, is the sourcepad a 'special' handcomp or cortex wave receiver for the neo-cortex stuff? To keep it seperate from her everyday handcomp, {so to speak}?

Yes, I am jigging madly to cover my error and maintain the 'feel' of my last post!!

For the time being I will edit my post from handcomp to source pad.

But, I got ya trumped Chan! -- the Bad Luck Cap'n strikes again - Meebe I SHOULD change me name to Cap'n Munchausen. My son-in-law and I were involved in a car accident today that totaled out his truck {not his fault}. Mark is unhurt and as fer me - only my lower back is really bitching me out. Soooo, personal injury claim is now my intent. Heh, I'll have to post the pics of Mark's truck as soon as we get them.

Now fer a musical interlude:
If it twrernt fer bad luck, I'd have no luck at ... Doooom - Despair and agony on meeeeeeeeee...

And remind me to tell you folks about a new Dark Entertainment {fancy schmancy fer Haunted House} I am working on - "Ocularis Infernium" {Eye of Hell} that we plan to do here in Indy for Halloween '05. I think we have a solid money-maker for Privateer'n Ventures! I am intending to stay away from having investors for Dragonfly or any other film project. Anyhoo, more of that in it's own thread!

Well, there's always the horrific garlic concoction...

3 cloves FRESH garlic, minced
1 buillion cube, any flavor
as much cayenne pepper as you think you can stand

Place in a coffee mug, fill with water, and microwave for 1 minute. Drink as hot as you can manage, as fast as you can to get all the good stuff in ya... (if you're not a fan of the smell/taste of garlic, this won't taste good...)

Sounds (and for some folks, tastes) awful, but it works really, really well...

Jayne will be on vacation for the weekend. I'll be driving to Nelson to visit my family since it's a long weekend here in Canada.

I suppose the big man will be arming himself similarly to the raid on Skyplex - hand gun, extra clips, Vera, a couple of flash grenades. He's also boobytrapping the door with the Alliance stun-gun he was offering to show Merz earlier. I chose the stun-gun because of the width of the blast - perfect for an un-aimed shot.

He'll be messing around in his room for 10 or 15 minutes. Diffusing this situation can be easily done. All Jayne has to do is see or hear Wash.

Hello, one and all...

Guess you've noticed that I haven't been around much. I was gearing up for marching band season, then last week I came down with some sort of flu. I've been laid up since then, trying to keep anything down and dealing with some head splitting pain. Anyhoo, I'm sad to say that I'm going to have to bow out of the RP as Kaylee. It's not that I don't have enough time to participate, it's just that I have no idea where to go with her now. Both she and I seem to have stalled out somewhere and neither of us knows how to get back on track. Guess we're both Out Of Gas.

You guys shouldn't have any problem finding another player, though. Hopefully the new blood will infuse my girl with some life. I'll try to pop in once in a while, check out the RP, see how things are going. It's been great gaming with you GunRunners. Have fun and take care.

Have you been to a Doc to see what is tearing you up? It sounds serious. Please let us know what is going on and if {by chance} any of us can do anything. Just because you can't play Kaylee anymore doesn't mean we won't want to hear from you.

As to Kaylee, how is this - I'll have Debs play Kaylee... {we have talked about it since your above post} ...for a while and see what your situation pans out to. If a month or so passes and you still are out of it, we'll do a casting call.

Is that OK with everybody? If somebody else wants to pick up Kaylee for the time being, shout out.

Eeep! Now I'm catching up on my reading after my long weekend away from civilization. I see Decoy sort of put me on the spot on Saturday by using the intercom to find Jayne. I'll get to posting for Jayne as soon as I can, but I'll have to finish reading and fit Jayne's response to that in. I might have to do a little time travel here. =)

EDIT: I think everything is under control. I had to skip that long Inara and Mal interchange for now, but I'll get to it.

Boomer: Sorry to see you leave if only temporarily (I hope!) I think you did a wonderfull job with Kaylee. Maybe a break from her will give a fresh perspective? TTFN.

Capn:Hexx is NOT looking for a "hootchie momma" as Eveningstar. Just a foil for Hexx's character. Maybe Evengstar is not what she appears to be. Dark motives of her own, perhaps.

Saint:I'm trying to write Hexx as an anti-hero. Like Eastwood in the spaghetti westerns. I like it when you get a nice juicy character that likes to do surprising things once in a while. Unpredictable. No spin-off in the works yet, but was playing with the idea of maybe doing some short stories and posting them as a kind of serial of Hexx's adventures. Nix to the joining Serenity crew. Don't think he'd do too well in social environment. Less coordination with other characters is a plus. Want to pursue new and different topics in the FIREFLY universe. Expand on basic premises introduced in the series.

greetings gunrunners, I have been thinking of ways to improve our Rp-ing experience. I think I may have figured out something. Maybe. he he he. I would like for us to try this idea... if you all are up for it, that is. I want us to try to mess with each other. What I mean is... let's try to let ourselves be left open for the possibility of being messed with. I am thinking, less planning, more spontaneous action.

Announcement: for all of those who are not aware of it, Decoy, Astriana and myself all live in the glorious and sunny state of Florida. Which is just about to get pounded by a couple of hurricanes.

Three cheers for messing! Jayne's been pretty much a loner, but I'm definitely all for interaction.

I haven't been around much. Work has been a cruel mistress as we get a new VP of Sales and Marketing, and I'm running around polishing things to make them look purty. I'll try to get back into the posting; maybe tomorrow.

Well friends -

I am more than happy to report that hurricane Charley took a different route than expected and Tampa Bay and our neighbor across the bay where our dear Astriana resides appears to have skated once again. I have not heard from Astriana yet, but I have hopes that all is well ...

My thoughts and prayers do go out to others less fortunate who were/are in the path of the storm - I saw pictures and it was nasty.

Yep, projects are stalled fer a bit. I have been working on the physical model of the Rubicon - and that is about it. Other than doing a few designs for the 'Ocluarius Infernium' haunted house.

As to the truck smash-up and my messed up back:
My hip is neither cracked nor broken, thank the Maker. But I have a series of compressed nerves in my lower spine that is making my right hip a real pain. VA Hospital did the minium job, now off to Chiropractor is the next mission. I really need one of those Nav/Ops chair/lounger that they used in Star Trek the Next Generation.

On that note, I'll end with this - Flexoril is a grand invention!

Special stock ... I must reread ... I don't remember that right off. Heh, either way I'll have Mal tell Damon where the 'special stock' is hidden. Of course, after Mal calls him on the carpet - about Damon "wavin' his peice" around the galley.

I had thought most of the tequila had been destroyed by the truck hitting Wash's trailer {waaaay back in act ...4 ...meebe?} and that there was only a coupla bottles left.

Jayne had 'flushed' most of the tequila and other debris out into the Big Black, if I recall.

Kaylee on the other hand has the {ahem} really nice inter-engine fermentation brew - Call it 'Spin-Up' - the drink that gets you revved! Drink TOO much and you Spit-Up ... lots!

I been thinking about what to do with that gun. Some possibilities present themselves to mind. Considered hiding it... not so fun, giving it back to Damon, some fun, "accidentally" dropping it or leaving it somewhere, sorta fun, unloading it and giving it to someone in a gunfight when they need it... cruel and unusual for Book. I think I will just play along with it how it is till something reminds him to do something with it.
