How many other because( in case you're not a regular) NVGhostrider and I met and subsequently married thanks to this site ( and the fact that he's awesome and wonderful and perfect and teh best husband in the world)

Guys are usually raised to be competitive. Sports are all about competition. Plus the good ones are heavy on the strategy component. You can have a quarterback with the strongest arm and the fastest legs but if you don't call good plays you're in trouble. When your team wins you get to rub the other fan's faces in it. What's not to like?
The real question is if you ladies like dancing and shoe shopping so much why aren't you trying to make those more like sports so we'll be interested in them?

I just can't figure the sports thing out because I become bored too easily and I really don't see why it matters who wins. It's just a game:)

Do you own only one pair of pants? or only one shirt?
In which case you need a pair of shoes for every outfit.
BTW one of the first things a woman will check out on a guy are his shoes. Does he know dress shoes go with dressy clothes? Are his shoes age appropriate? Do they show some recognition of basic fashion sense ( are they out of date or wildly mismatched)?
This is the guidepost to what kind of guy he is. If it's too nice, we know he's self obsessed. If they are really hopeless it tells you he's not good with details and has no real job prospects ( also side note many employers also make similar judgments)If they are age inappropriate you know the guy has issues with accepting responsibility and immaturity. If they are regimented and stiff, you know the guy is boring. If they are totally awesome and his appearance is super manicured and perfect...he's gay.
So really shoe obsession is an overarching dissection of your personality, employment prospects, IQ, attention to detail, and likelihood of sexual orientation.
Does that help?

Yeah, I think the whole shoes thing might be reading too much into it. Woman may well look at shoes and start making all the assumptions based on how they think about shoes, but to me at least... they're just shoes. If I like em, they fit and are comfortable, that's about as much thought as goes into it.
I'll wear them for just about anything.
Unless I need a certain type of shoe for a certain task (football boots, hiking, running shoes) I don't really see why you should have a whole bunch of different pairs.

pffft, I'mma just stay young forever then. I figure it's prolly more a state of mind anyway.
My parents made it very clear that my actions affect others from an earlier age (I had a younger sister after all) but I didn't really think about that for altruistic reasons 'till about 19. In other words, I stopped 'doing right' in hopes of being noticed/liked/rewarded and started 'doing right' because I thought it helped someone else.

I always make some fruit and veggies at dinner. I also get like 98% of my food from the grocery store. I think that's a big help on the healthy side of things. I only eat frozen dinner type meals at lunch. For dinner I usually makes something. Sometimes it's something that will leave leftovers that I can have for lunch later in the week.
The worst I do on the health side of my diet is I drink pop almost all the time at dinner. I've added in juice once in a while but that's probably just as sugary. Also I don't make sides. I basically just eat snack foods as sides. Mmmmm potato chips. (hey at least I get the baked kind)

I'm up to "desperation day". I'm not liking any of the relationships they're pushing. Zoe doesn't match Ted in the slightest bit. Plus I don't like the way they just spontaneously ended her marriage with like maybe 1 sign that it had some problems. I don't want to see someone's marriage fail just so they can be another notch on Ted's bedpost. We know she's not the mother so their relationship is doomed. It's stupid. Plus this girl Barney became obsessed with is annoying and not at all the type of girl I'd match Barney with. Besides she's like a 6 at best. Why would Barney even look at her twice? I'm almost thinking the show needs to just be canceled at this point.

Ugh will they just get it over with already? They better be doing this as a guaranteed end date type of thing so the writers can stop beating around the bush and get a finalized time line of events drawn up.

All it ever seemed to be was full of anger and fighting any time I went near there. No thank you. You're right it's probably good that it died.

LOL Zeek- running around in it while it is stopped and we are loading groceries watching him carefully...
Seriously I think I am going to have a difficult time when it comes time to let him have independence. I prefer to keep a very very very watchful eye on him. I have even looked into those cute little locators you can put on their shoelaces.

So, I'm finally caught up on HIMYM. I didn't see anything get much better. I really don't like Zoe or Nora's characters. They both need to go and quick.
So, here's my idea for how they can keep things interesting for the next season. They should end this season with the wedding where Ted meets his wife. However, have him meet two or even three women with some potential at the wedding. Then all next season they can play the guessing game of which one will actually become his wife. They just better do a darn good job of making them likable. I don't want any of them to have a bf/fiance/husband when they meet Ted. I'm really tired of that junk. Just make them fun, adventurous people who share some interests with Ted. Then let him struggle over which to choose.
Also didn't he buy a rundown house? What the heck is going on with that?

Hi all! How's it been in FFF.net land? Things have been all kinds of topsy-turvy in my world, but it should all work out well in the end. Just wish I could see a glimmer of the end right about now. :D

I don't think I've met any FFF-ers. I did go to a Serenity screening a few years back and I know there were some there, but I didn't meet any.
So do tell...what's been going on?

nuthin.

I'm actually doing a job interview today *gulp* It just sounds like a good opportunity. So, I figured I'd see what they're all about. Gotta keep it all quiet like from my current employer. Such a weird feeling. I feel like I'm cheating on them or something.

Well, good luck. :D You've got to do what's best for you.
How's your kitty?

Still being cute. She was just climbing all over my lap a minute ago. (I'm working from home to take the call in under and hour EEP!) I had to get her to jump down so I could actually accomplish work.

Must have gone well enough to move on to phase 2 I guess. Now I have to go in person. Down side of that is if it doesn't pan out I'm going to waste a day of vacation.
Always gotta look on the gloomy side of things.

Whooo for Zeek and new possible job
Also totally agree about Ted's choices in women. They're all partially unavailable and annoying.
That'd be awesome if we got the glimpse of the mom and kind of guess along until next season.
Hey what did happen to that house???
HUGS RUGBUG!!!!!!! you're here!!! YAY!!
Um what's been going on, not much. Baby ,...baby...baby... and...work
Honestly though he's a great baby and truly hilarious. We let him watch part of Serenity for the first time and when he saw Jayne getting ready at the beginning he yelled " guns guns guns YAY!" and clapped
So what's been going on with you Rugbug? How are the horsies?

Pretty sure if this day had gotten any worse my vice principal would have quit today

Do you like your vice principal or loathe your vice principal?

Well, that's a bad day for sure. Hope it didn't get any worse.
It probably seems silly to you, but since I haven't been around, I am shocked that your little one is running around, etc. I still think of him as a baby. :D
Horses are still good. I'm pretending to try to sell the one, but things have consorted against me in getting him marketed. We should be coming to the end of that quickly. The other is being a good boy. We have good days and bad, but mostly they are good and the bad ones are minor so it all adds up nicely.
BTW: Your shoe comments a ways back were right on. While I don't judge based on shoes, I will look to see if someone can put the right shoes with the right clothes, especially when it counts (big events like weddings, funerals, etc.) The guy wearing the Converse with his suit on a date can be adorable, but it's not so cute when it's a formal wedding. You don't have to act like a grown-up all the time, but you need to show that you can when it counts. :D

Zeek- I kind of like him, but yesterday was soooo sucky I felt bad for him because 90% of his day was taken up dealing with one serious behavior ( all my students) after another
Interestingly, one of my students tried ( well in a vague way) to set me on fire...
LOL well he's a super early walker Rugbug. He's only 15 months old, but he's been walking since 9 months. He's also wearing clothes meant for a 3 year old so he's unusually tall and active for his age.

Welcome new browncoat:)
