Just got the call this morning. Looks like I'll be a SHIELD agent in The Avengers. No lines, but still.... it's gonna be fun!!
All I know is it's an all night shoot, and they're calling it the "evacuation scene". I have to turn in a non disclosure contract Monday, so I won't be able to give any details from the set - but I am insanely excited.

Many congratulations on the part.
To be in a Joss project and The Avengers is a fantastic double win.
Just make sure you post a piccy of yourself so we can all see you 'strut your stuff'.

KICK ASS!!! Talk about memorable experiences in life. That, and the movie is most likely going to be the best comic book film to date. Congrats.

Thanks, ya'll. :)
Went in for my costume fitting yesterday. I am definitely a SHIELD agent, basic black suit and tie.
Didn't get to see anything super-cool. Closest was a rack full of SHIELD assault uniforms, like Hawkeye was wearing in Thor. Some of the other guys there were talking about a scene they shot last week, where they were firing grenade launchers at a guy in a giant foam Hulk outfit...

omg spoilers!!
j/k that doesn't bother me. I've already read enough to not be shocked by a scene like that taking place. Sounds like shield is going to be much more active in Avengers than they've been in the other movies so far.

Would that I could, but cameras are strictly verboten, and phones are confiscated for the duration of the shoot.

Super shiny! This could be as much fun as when a couple of us infiltrated the Serenity shoot as extras and lived to tell the tale.
Don't break any rules; just remember everything and make copious notes as soon as you are off set.

Had my night on the set a few days back. A fun, if very long (14 hour) shoot. Can't go into any details of course (not that I really know much) but the shoot involved about 350 extras. We ran around as a helicopter buzzed us at about 25-30 feet, as a camera chopper tailed it - which was pretty damned cool.
Didn't see any major stars. Sam Jackson was in the scene briefly, but we only saw his double - they sent us all away for dinner while he shot his bit. Clark Greg was there for much of it. In fact, there's a very good chance I'll bee seen damned near tripping and falling on my ass as he gets into a truck.
I went with my friend George, and we managed to stick fairly close together for most of the shoot. After a couple hours of shooting, we were talking and wondering if we were ever going to see Joss, or if the whole shoot was being run by the second unit crew. George and I were at our marks, about 15 feet apart, when I noticed a guy walking toward us. I had enough time to think "Hey, that guy looks kinda like Joss.... OH" before blurting out "Hello, Sir" as he passed between George and I. He didn't really acknowledge us, but to be fair, he was going back and forth between two units shooting on opposite ends of the location, and had a look of intense concentration, so I understood. Did get to see him direct Greg as 'Agent Coulson' a fair bit throughout the rest of the night.
They shot with 3 cameras most of the time, occasionally using a fourth. For as logistically complicated as it was, it all ran extremely smoothly. A lot of the other extras, who do a lot of the NM productions, said it was one of the tightest operations to come through.
All in all, a very fun experience. Though my feet have never been so sore. Dress shoes (that weren't even mire) are not good for running all night.

OMG spoilers! There's a helicopter in the movie!? It's ruined!!! :-p
Sounds like some fun along with probably a bunch of boredom as well. So, we're supposed to look for the guy who trips? That's our only way to spot you? That could be difficult.
