I'm hiding from a head cold. A weekend seeking head cold that's wiped out the one nice day for weeks. On my day off no less. Up side: getting caught up on tivo since I'm too head cold stupid to do any active thinking. Finally finished off Caprica. Still way behind on Chuck though. I save those for when I really need cheering up. Which would work great if I could run two strands of co-ax 6 blocks to work.

well i'm hiding out from people in general. sleep is hiding out from me.

i started to watch Caprica, but couldn't get past the 3rd or 4th episode. maybe i should try again if it gets better?

also, im assuming you've watched all of BSG? maybe you can explain to me what the hell happened there at the end? stupid shows making me think...

Not sure that it does really. If the themes of shifting identity and allegiances didn't grab you there probably isn't a point to pushing on. There's too much stuff to watch to spend time on something that your not enjoying. Also it doesn't really come to any conclusion.

I'm currently hiding from my 'rent, in the hopes that he doesnt notcie the new set of holes in my ears. considering he didn't notice when I went from blonde to flame red hair, I should be good. I've never actually bothered to see BSG, is it any good? I tried StarGate Universe, but it kinda sucked.

The first two seasons of Battlestar are very good. Season three floundered a bit but Season four returned to form mostly with the caveat that there are a few plot lines that just kind of get dropped and the Finale left a large number of people underwhelmed.

Actually feeling loads better at the moment but I'm still a bit sniffly/coughy.

Big storm. Apparently something like 300,000 homes lost power and we were one of them. Pretty minor on the damage scale but we were dark for a while.

In unrelated news one of our cats is locked in the next room and mewling piteously about it. She's locked in that room because she's developed the habit of spraying all over the house. That and other changes in behavior and some weight loss had the vets stumped but we now think that she may actually be in heat. Strange considering that we had her spayed. I didn't think those grew back.

HI DAVE!!!!

Yay we are alive. Lots going on here!

I did see Torchwood and I agree it's slow... and I honestly haven't liked it as much since the demise of well... EVERYONE!!!! Still JB is a hunk and a great actor too, plus it's nice to give new actors a chance to prove themselves in this plot line! Still it would only be absolutely perfect if they brought back Owen...again.

Owen? yeah maybe a little but his character always felt a bit superfluous to me. All they really have to do is write Jack as slightly more of a jerk and Owen's roll is filled.

I'd like to say I miss Tosh but they never really figured out what to do with her. Perhaps if they did a magically assertive Tosh that did something other than be the permanent victim of circumstance that would be nice. Those sentences also pretty adequately describe Ianto too.

They could bring back Susie for a, "They Keep, Keep killing Susie" episode though. That would be fun.

Rhys is still an unfun stick in the Welsh mud. What do the writers see in that character?

Anyway, Dad's birthday today so have to get ready for the big day at the track. Hasta la manana.

Rhys's entire reason for existence as a character is to once an episode grind the plot to a standstill while he yells at Gwen to stop doing her job. He's an enjoyment sink and a bit of a throwback to the kind of "keep 'em barefoot and pregnant" character of the less enlightened fifties sitcoms. Ianto wasn't bad per se just kinda bland.

Stopped watching the new series after the third episode. Might have to go back and start over with season one to remember Torchwood when Jack was likeable even when he was being all mr. bossy pants.

RIP Torchwood... you had at least two awesome seasons and then COE happened (I will get over it one day... maybe)

Good news two shows I'm loving right now. Bedlam, which only has a six episode run for the first season... but hopeful for season 2.

And I am finally catching up with Being Human (NOT the horrid American SyFy version... and I've just watched an episode where Kai Owen had a bit part... also realized there are lots of DW alumni involved in that show!)

Last night was CSTS Chicago. The usual Jossy type stuff being auctioned and sold. Got me some Alliance money a couple shirts and a big bag of Buffy card game cards. This year the screening included Dr. Horrible and an intermission performance by local filk legend Luke Ski. After door prizes (been going for six gorram years ain't never won once) Serenity started up. Ah the Big Damn Movie on the big damn screen. Blast was had by all.

Well we really do seem to have gotten awfully good at hiding. So good in fact that we aren't even visible to each other. I propose that we be a little less good at hiding in the future. Who's with me?

By some weird happenstance I find myself in possession of two copies of the Castle season 2 dvd set. (that weird happenstance would be me not realizing I already had it and ordering it again.) So if anybody wants it they can have it.

I misspelled copies above and auto-correct suggested coppices instead. We are in the thick, thick brush here my friends.

I am doing ok. Ish. Ok-ish.

Gall bladder surgery scheduled for the 1st so hopefully I will be feeling better afterwards. Let me tell you; Thanksgiving is not a holiday designed for people who are have intermittent abdominal pains.

In slightly better news I updated my graphics driver on Friday and now Neverwinter Nights will run on my computer. Sort off. Most of the character models seem to be absent so I can only see people and people like monsters by their shadow effects. Makes the game a bit spooky but still playable and so now I'm playing it. A lot. It has an unholy fascination for me.

How about you? Is Buddha gonna be bringing you a pony and a plastic rocket this year?
