No it will not run on a Mac. Well, at least not natively. It'll run through wine though. It's available through MacPorts (macports.org) if you have that installed or are willing to install it.

EDIT: Note that wine is only for intel macs...

Unfortunately the very concept is IP. Word has it Joss wants to be the sole entity to tell the stories of these characters, in any form film or pixel. Maybe one might get away with messin with the verse, but ya once he shows up on the Fox cortex its game over.

Id probably delete the "bring it" comment cause they will. Most people think they can just ignore the C&D. Fox will just bypass buddy there and send the letter straight to the game web host, the dns host, and his personal ISP to boot. He wakes up his internet dont work, his website is offline, and the domain is locked.

I dont like it much either, but thats how they work. =S

Yeah, the characters are IP. And so's any logos or screenshots from the show if they were used. Fox is a little twitchy about anything that might constitute wide distribution use of IP.

Maybe if it's a parody, but I still don't think it is.

If he's distributing it for free and there's no competition (sadly) with like products that are losing revenue for FOX/Universal, and he isn't damaging their reputation(s), then I doubt they will go after him.

They send C&D's to people who are making money off of, or taking money from, their IP without consent. It's all about the money. No money, no radar.

Still, it's shiny 8-bit love, so go download it and enjoy it!

Apparently they're smacking down hard even on people who aren't making money but ARE distributing the property in various forms.

They went after an internet RP group, and also a free public screening of the pilot episode.

The only way to be safe it seems is to not use logos, not use screenshots, and from there it's safe to recommend caution in even using the characters. Hopefully they won't go after fanfiction, but if they went after an RP group already, that might be next.

Also, a free public screening is in violation of the copyright laws if they did not get consent. Had it been a private viewing, then it's a different issue.
