This is the first thread I've started here, so bear with me...oh, and sorry if this is the wrong place for it.

Okay, so. I've gotten a lot of feedback from folks here and there about the graphics for various Firefly replica t-shirts that I've made, so I finally decided to post a thread to see what interest there really is in these shirts.

I've only ever made these for myself using semi-crappy, yet kinda-sturdy, iron-on transfers. My brother's friend is in the marketing business and can put just about any graphic on any thing. If people are seriously interested in these shirts, I'm willing to contact this guy and get a quote on them. These would be real, high quality, silk-screened shirts.

The following are the shirts I've made so far.

Top row, left to right:
(1&2) Ning2jing4 "Serenity" - the new logo from the BDM. On back is written "No Power In The 'Verse Can Stop Me."
(3) Ping2jing4 "Serenity" - the old logo in the show from the side of Serenity herself.
(4) Wan2 Nao4 "Rowdy Play" or "Trouble Maker" (slang) - Jayne wore this shirt in "Jaynestown."

Middle row, left to right:
(1&2) A nearly exact replica of the shirt given out to the cast & crew; Adam's wearing it on the DVD during his song. The front has a picture of Serenity and the back has the new characters for "firefly."
(3) Qing1 Ri4 "Blue Sun" - the original Blue Sun logo as seen pretty much anywhere in the series.
(4) Qing1 Ri4 "Blue Sun" - same as above but on a tank top; Jayne wore this shirt in several episodes, including "Ariel" and "Bushwhacked."

Bottom row, left to right:
(1&2) Shui3 "Water" - Jayne wears this shirt near the end of "Serenity." The logo is actually on his left shoulder. This is the toughest shirt by far to make and doesn't photograph all that well.
(3) Yong3 "Soldier" or "Brave" - Jayne wears this in several episodes, including "Ariel" and "War Stories."
(4) Zhan4 Dou4 de Xiao3 Jing1 Ling2 "(the) Fighting Elves" - Jayne wears this shirt in several episodes, including "War Stories" and "Safe."

SO...if you would be interested in buying any of these, please post here (which one and how many) so I can get an idea of how many people would potentially place orders. I'm not lookin' to make money on this, I'm just lookin' to see if I'd get any help with the actual costs of printing.

Also, if you have any requests, feel free to post them here, too. I get bored quite frequently and am therefore more than willing to see what other graphics I can make up for shirts.

I would LOVE to get one of the Serenity shirts, doesn't matter which one really. Although I really like the one with the new version on it. :) Hmm...and maybe a Blue Sun one too...

Edit: Just to clarify, I'd want the new Serenity one. :) And is it possible to get a Blue Sun one on a white shirt like the one with the ship on it?

As you may remember, I've also been working on recreating Jayne's shirts, as well. . .so I'm torn between the pride of making my own, or the awesome shame of buying yours.

EDIT: Oh, and I'd be interested in any of the ones that Jayne actually wore. I'm surprised you were able to do the one on the shoulder. . .I could never even get a good shot of it to try and start.

YAYYYYY!!! I would be interested in:

(1) Top row, #1, "Serenity/No Power," and I also like the idea of adding the ship from "Serenity Crew Shirt" to the back as well.

(1) Middle row, #1 "Serenity Crew Shirt" Perhaps not only in white?

I have a suggestion: How about character shirts? There are plenty of high-quality photos out there, and maybe even a T-shirt of the image from the Firefly DVD box set? I've always loved that group shot.

If you would ship to the UK, I would buy a couple. If you offered a good quality V necked version in white and black I would buy several (round necked tee shirts aren't very flattering for voluptuous women, so I don't normally buy them).

Would be great if you could give an indicator of costs, and then I would give you a definite answer on quantity.

I'd be very interested in top row #1. However, like a couple of others in this thread, wondering if it could be made available without the writing on the back. Cool as it is, I think my own less-is-more aesthetic would be better served by just the "Serenity" and new symbol on the front, and nothing but the black on the back (har-har).

Yeah, I have CP stores also, and they're fairly decent products, but you can't do dark colored shirts or unusual placements...also, they are very touchy about copyright. Tread carefully...

Wow, I think they all look great! If you start selling them I will buy one of each. I like that you have made a true copy of the shirt that was givin' to the cast and crew...please don't change it. Please remember to to make larger sizes, I'm 6'5" and 300 lbs, so a 2X or 3X would be great.

I would request that you make some small sizes. I'm only just over five feet tall and petit. I often have trouble finding shirts that aren't L or XL(sizes that really don't fit me). Would you take specific orders, size and style?

Wow, okay, so I guess there's more interest than I thought. Thanks. A lot. You've all been very nice. NOW, to answer just a few questions:

* Yes, I looooove PayPal (US$) and am willing to ship overseas.

* No, I have no idea what shirts will cost yet. I hope to keep it as cheap as possible.

* Yes, I intend on having a good range of sizes. I wear XS/S girlie size, and am very tired of not finding cool geeky shirts in my size. I'll also go as big as is feasible so I don't leave anyone out.

* Shirt colors: that's still up in the air and will probably depend more on availability than anything. The pictures I posted are of the shirts I made for myself; I actually went all over trying to find the right color shirts to come as close to those that Jayne wore. It might not be possible to do this on a large scale.

* Related, it may be entirely possible to have any of the graphics on any of the styles / colors. That, along with non-t-shirt tops, will depend on availability and cost.

* NO, I have absolutely never had any intentions to open up a "cafepress" shop. They charge too much, I have no idea what their quality is like, and I think they have a pretty shitty selection.

* Yep, you're a focus group. Of sorts. More kinda biased than focused since I get the feeling that at least a couple of you might already like that Firefly show.

Those are just about all the questions I can recall. I'll try my best to answer more as they come. Keep in mind that I have a real job out in the big Blue Room (that's slowly yet consistently sucking the soul out of my being), so I may not get back to you right away. I have contacted the guy who'd be making these things and am just waiting for a response from him. I'll keep you posted as the info comes in.

This was sorta covered by the "geek shirts are too big" remark, but I wanna narrow that down even more by requesting "baby doll" shirts. I think they're more flattering on women --the neckline and the sleeves are better and on me, they're usually long enough without coming down to my butt. I love em. Heck, I'm wearin' one now with Serenity on it.

I love the new Serenity shirt and the Fighting Elves design. I would definitely buy both if they were available in a woman's shirt design (either baby doll or V-neck), but you can count me in for the new BDM Serenity shirt even in a regular one.

Your designs look great. I could easily take one of Water and Fighting Elves and potentially any of the other Jayne tees. Also, as far as suggestions go, I caught a glimpse of an interesting-looking one he wore in "Ariel" (while they're all learning their paramedic lines) that looked like a bank of monitor-shaped designs on it.

Getting in line here to just say how SHINY!!! I'd definitely be interested. Maybe even buy a few for hubby too. If you're still tallying for which ones, I like the old Serenity logo, Blue Sun, and Soldier ones the best.

Just thought I'd post these two new shirts here since my wee website is still on hiatus.

The pictures in the top row (yellow Wan2 Nao4) are of my first attempt at the new "Trouble Maker" shirt that Jayne wears in the BDM (reference the BDH / BDM banner photo). It's not quite right, but I know how to make it better. I just don't have another yellow shirt to do it.

The first one in the bottom row is everyone's favorite pin-up girl...! Jayne wears this one in "Objects In Space." I can honestly say that this is my all-time favorite half-nekkid, psychedelic girlie shirt that I own. (Just cuz it's the only one I own doesn't make that statement any less special.) I don't know that I could reproduce this one cuz the pin-up girl is actually someone else's art, borrowed for the show.

The second one in the bottom row is just a whim; the same new Serenity logo as in my first post enlarged and put on the back of a brown jacket. It turned out really, really good, so I'm starting to think iron-on jacket patches......

ANYway, have a look:

Also... still waiting to hear from my printer friend. XERXEXREX mentioned the shirt Jayne wears in "Ariel" (and also "Safe") - I'm still working on finding out what those graphics actually are. I'm also working on the orange one from "Trash" and the blue one from "Heart of Gold." (I wish I could do this instead of my real job...)

Well, the Pennsylvania Shindig has the Columbus Day weekend (Oct. 9,10,11) as a tentative date. MyOrangeHat hasn't mentioned anything new, but perhaps you can use that sure-to-be-large gathering as a working date for the first batch?

ETA: that MOH did post in the PA Shindig thread that's she working on confirming the Columbus Day weekend dates.

First, if things keep going the way they are, maybe you will do this instead of a "real" job (I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!)

Second, right now, we are planning a 'dig probably in late September for us here in the Cincinnati area. I am doing a few Ts (a Blue Sun one and probably one or two based off my popular wallpapers from FFF.net) for door prizes, but it would be nice to land one of yours for myself! ;)

These T's are really nicely done, Hell's Kitten! Thank you for putting forth the effort to share them with us fellow browncoats.

I am interested in 6 of the shirts, and possibly multiples, if the price is right. I would also like to request babydoll/womens T's. Would it be easier for me to send you the t's I want silkscreened, instead of you having to make available so many styles? It will cost a little more in shipping, but it might make it easier for you to accomodate all the special sizes, styles and colors people are requesting. I also really like the idea of a big jacket patch. Boy, if this works out, I could get a lot of my Christmas shopping done early this year!

I can't remember if this had been mentioned upthread because I've read this in bits and pieces over many days.

I would really like to see your wonderful designs, Hell's Kitten, imprinted on really good quality t-shirts. I emphasize GOOD quality. I don't know what the price difference is, but I doubt many people want to find their shirts faded and threadbare after six months.

We have at least eight months of wear and exposure to get in until next April!

Ooh! I stumbled upon your Comcast site some time ago, but I never got around to printing any iron-on sheets...this would be much better.

I would buy any (but not all, due to money limitations) of the following: New Serenity, Old Serenity, Cast&crew shirt, Rowdy Play, Fighting Elves, and Trouble Maker.

I'm expanding my wish-list from the blue sun t, to both the blue sun t and tank, and also the BDM-version troublemaker (which looks *very* impressive, btw). I think some of my convert friends are interested now... When's your website coming back? And are the shoulder designs iron-on? Or can your printer friend do that too? Keep up the fantastic work.
