Welcome Deathpain
Have you checked out a thing called "Facebook" I hear there are many Browncoats about, though I don't dare go there meself...
Also, It seems that typing in your area, and the word Browncoat in a search is somewhat helpful.... or U.K. Fireflyfans...
We have a dozen or so that come here frequently...

Hey there Newbs, Greetings and salutations! Isn't Firefly the best dang TV series never to have a second season (Damn you Fox!) and the verse is rife with Browncoats of all shapes, sizes and colors........so sit a spell.
This is also a hoot and a holler to all the O.B.s - Original Browncoats. Still kicking after all these years!

I've been here a while, but don't post much.
I'm one of those people who didn't know about Firefly at all until a few years ago when I stumbled on it on Hulu. I didn't watch much TV back when it was on. I've probably watched the whole series 20 times since then, and it's still more entertaining than any show out there.
Like most of you, I loved it from the get-go and wondered how such a great show could have been cancelled so fast. The Friday night "death slot," the network, etc., just made me angry. How many people would have gotten into it if they'd just promoted and scheduled it better? We'll never know.
For me, good shows are hard to find, and I've never joined a fansite for any other show, let alone one that was gone before I ever saw it. I like Firefly that much.

Welcome to all who are new to this mighty pretty crew.
Atop the Mule, which is parked near the upper end of the ramp, are a cooler full of jugs of Mudder's Milk and an array of baskets of strawberries. Everyone coming aboard is welcome to partake.
Next, you stash your stuff in one of the designated wheeled cages and keep a key.
Stop by the Virtual Browncoat Locker and let us issue you a perfectly fitted coat. Now you're looking shiny.
Next, freshen up (sorry the line's so long but after all there are by now over 47000 crew signed on!) and brave the airy-scary steps and catwalk up to the galley.
In the galley we maintain a buffet that you can question to your heart's (and stomach's) content: mangos, papayas, pineapples, bacon-wrapped oysters, 'tater salad, fresh bao, wife soup...most anything you want. The shimmerwine fountain is at the aft end of the table. Please keep your feet well away from the underside of the table at that point. Something seems to have been living under there for eight or so years, and it may be dangerous.
Oh, and don't forget to sign up for your turn at chores!

Glad you are here with us, KARLALUCKOW. I hope you'll find a few kindred spirits among the many crazed 'coats who dwell here. Been a while since anyone started a party, but there's life among the masses yet.
I have a nice, big llama who enjoys parties, and a portable fumarole for additional heat where it's needed.
And there is the captioning.
And (shudder) the politics and general rabble-rousing.
MUTT, I thought the sub-table dweller was DOG13 or whatever he called himself. Lordy, what a long time ago that was. Well, don't bite any toes - - you've no idea where they've been.
Hodgeberry wine for all when we open the first few bottles next week!

Hi, Wishie!
'Tis a season of excitement, already underway and groaning with freight.
We'll be starting in on the ice-planets and all the strawbs I can liberate by around 12.12.12, as one of our number is turning (ssssh!) 40 (ssssh!) that day.
If we survive that, there will be nine more days of partying until the Mayans come back for us.
Then there will be the Fiscal Cliff.
And upon the Feast of the Epiphany my own 427th birthday.
May be able to fix that turtle myself after all, without waiting for Jayne to sharpen up his technique. Just (yesterday!) had eye surgery and am champing at the bit to get started back at the beadwork, mini-crochet, all that fancy stuff after years of blurs and smears.
I had a whole supply of taglines around here somewhere (rummage, rummage) but haven't seen them in a couple of years.
Hope your year has been a good one, memorable, productive...
...Which makes me think of a tag-line!
Earlier today I posted (elsewhere) a wry memory of what had been a painful, embarrassing experience. I found myself laughing as each nuance, each new phrase suggested itself. Then I cut out anything which would identify me or others involved and it was still funny. It then occurred to me that at the time it happened I had told my family "In twenty years this is probably going to be hilarious." I should have had that needlepointed for the wall and engraved on cards.
So, for you, no matter how bad it gets, that line or this one: "Comedy is tragedy plus time." - - Carol Burnett

Big, fuzzy welcome to KKWheelchair, #47780 to sign on.
That browncoat looks shiny on you - - always a good fit from the virtual locker.
We have here the traditional Milk - - and strawberries, dewy-fresh from the fruit-locker of a large ship docked nearby. Turns out one of the keys from my extensive collection fit their starboard sally-port lock a treat, and it was pick-and-stick from there to the goodies and swiftly out again.
I had to purchase the ice-planets on the up-and-up but they're just as good, and the selection is broad, tending to the exotic. You'll find them on the bottom shelf of the cooler when you've stashed your stuff and come up for the questioning of the buffet.
Wife soup is on the simmer, hot cheese is in the chafing dish, shimmerwine is in the fountain at the aft end of the galley table; as always, we ask that you steer clear of whatever may be living under there.

Well, happy early birthday! May it be kind to all your 427 years... Eye surgery is on my list of things nightmarish -just the dentist gets me worked up- so my sympathies on that part...But, glad to hear modern science is working for someone, anyhow. Was in my bunk feeling a tad space-sick from the last adventure (foraging for Mudder's and strawberries) when I heard the rattle of hangers from the coat-locker. Got some more on the crew!
RESET (#47858) and TORTOISE (#47850) are the most recent arrivals to speak to us here on the ramp. (Must be some stowaways in between) Step up, claim your traditional Milk jug and punnet of berries from here atop the mule in its parking slot.
Stow your stuff and come up the scary expanded metal of the stairway and catwalk to the galley, where the buffet awaits your questioning. Mangos, pineapples, hot cheese, fresh bao, wife soup, we have it all. And shimmerwine in the fountain at the after end of the table. As always, watch your feet back there...
And there are ice-planets in many exotic flavors in the bottom shelf of the cooler. Turn in your sticks and strings when you're through.

Yep, that expanded metal brings back memories to me, too, but not of a carrier, more of a land-bound industrial thing. Can you hear the squeak-rattle it makes?
Hope the buffet is to your liking, and also the fresh shipment of ice-planets I'm bringing aboard in a few minutes. Good variety, plenty of hodgeberry and Borosian ginger (a couple of favorites), sweet-and-sour, exotic vanilla, that sort of thing. Check the cooler, bottom shelf.

Then there was the time my mother ventured out onto a 2nd or 3rd story platform of the stuff in a skirt. I was up there too and I can guarantee you could see all the way through the structure. One hopes it was too dark inside the skirt to look up and discover something I knew for sure - - she wasn't wearing underwear.

MAEMAELU Welcome as #48040 on the crew.
Join SAFEZOR here and we'll sign you on, handing over the traditional mug of Mudder's Milk and punnet of strawberries.
You're invited to stash your stuff in one of these here wheelie-cages, keep a key, and come up to the galley, stopping along the way at the virtual coat-locker to be issued your very own individual fits-all browncoat.
The buffet awaits your questioning, with fresh bao, wife soup, mangoes, hot cheese, and all the other delicacies we can manage aboard this shiny ship. The shimmerwine has just been replenished in the fountain at the aft end of the table and as always we remind you that your toes may be in danger if allowed to stray too far under the table back there.
Ice-planets are running a little low, but you'll find a few remarkable flavors still in the box - - cooler, bottom shelf.

>>Well here is the thread I've been looking for.
It sure is, and welcome aboard our shiny ship, WR_ORION. You're #48170 - - that's a lot of virtual coats taken from the locker and fitted to our newbies, but I must say you look mighty good in yours.
We like to hand out treats while you're here on the ramp: your own jug of Mudder's Milk and a punnet of the best strawberries in this sector of the 'Verae. Then stash your stuff in a rolly-cage, pocket the key, climb the airy stairs and meet some of the crew for the questioning of the buffet.
(Watch out for dripping icewater on your way up the stairs - - we've another newb who's showing the crew some tricks involving ice cubes, expanded metal surfaces, our moderate gravity, and the advantage of surprise)
Buffet's been re-stocked, the hot cheese warmed up, and more shimmerwine dumped into the fountain at the after end of the table. Watch your feet back there; the underspace may be inhabited and you'll end up in the infirmary getting shots and stitches.
For dessert, of course, an ice-planet! Choose your favorite flavor from the box in the bottom shelf of the cooler, or be brave and try something you've never heard of. It's all good.
Enjoy the company, and please join us in the captioning!

DOMOKUN1 #48182!! Welcome to the not-so-bumped newbie thread on our shiny ship. Too bad we can't sticky the post, but there you are. By now you've probably been Milked, Strawberried, and fitted with your own fits-all virtual browncoat, good in all weathers but a little heavy for swimming. We'll settle for offering fresh bao, good savory Wife Soup, more of that hot cheese, and a bye on chores for the week. If you're a good banana-nicker we could use your help at the buffet before the next rush of recruits shows up. And have an extra ice-planet on me. Persephonian Purpleberry is really good this week.
ZAC, we done did you on another thread while thanking you for not being the meanie who's trying to send our Jayne Hat knitting out past the Black.

LOL, DOMOKUN1 - - if you think you are being beaten up you should go back in time and sample Troll Country. Everyone -- well, all right, nearly everyone - - has gotten more mellow with the years, and many of the most ogreish types have drifted off into the Reaver Belt, there to be consumed or to join the crowd and start piercing their body parts and eating people.
We've had late-night wars here, and wild parties, the like of which you've never seen unless you've been shanghaied and ended up on my home planet, a place guaranteed to excite both delight and disgust.
It's where I get the ice-planets, usually.
But I digress...please enjoy your moments here. You will find some like-minded shipmates if you dig a little, put on your asbestos mask, try a thread here and there.

Welcome, welcome, Rainy, Dallas, MREYE, and Whisper!!
Believe it or not, I think half the people here are here because of watchin' the movie first...
Utah, huh? We got a couple from around there, but they are fairly hard to track down some days, not unlike quite a few of Utah residentials, or so I hear...Got a couple from OK as well... I've been a stay at home mum for 11 years myself, and lets just say it's rapidly losing it's appeal
I stole the key to the supply closet back for the night, so I'll pass out a fresh stack of virtual Browncoats for the lot, and fresh mugs of Mudders
Take yer shoes off and make yourselves at home! Tread lightly in Real World Events Discussions threads, it gets heated in there sometimes (but we're pretty used to that) and chat is there for friendly discussions if you can catch someone. (as it gets colder it gets busier in there every year) Any questions ye got feel free to fire away!

Guess it's my turn to drop in, grab a shiny Browncoat, and introduce myself. Pleasure to meet ya folks, people over on Fanfiction.Net call me Vergil1989 the Crossover King, but please, call me Vergil, far easier on the mouth lol. Joking aside, I too have seen the first and regrettably the only season of this epic show, as well as the movie, quite a few times, but I only now find my way here about a week or so before my birthday. Don't you think that strange? And now I'm channeling Jubal, great lol. Anyway, I'm happy to be here on my soon to be 26th year of life, and here's hoping I stick around for the long haul. See ya out there in that good ol Verse.

Thank you Sister! A little about myself. I'm 40 (roughly), live in West Sussex in the South of England with my wife, stepdaughter and 3 year old son, we both play with dinosaurs, RIP Wash. Umm, I saw Serenity several years ago with no clue what was going on, but watched Firefly on good ol' Netflix in about 2 days a few weeks ago.
A shiny moment happened last week; I was blethering on to my bemused wife about all things Firefly, with the zeal of a newly badged Browncoat. On the tv, in the background, we had The Big Bang Theory on, we're generally fans of the show but this was the first time we'd caught it in several months. As anyone reading this has probably guessed already, it was the ep with Nathan Fillion, cue squeeing. Just seemed like some sort of confirmation of the rightness of this whole thing, not that I needed any.
Good to be here.

Hi, Fairly recent firefly convert as well - on account of still being very small at the time it first aired. I saw it a while ago but haven't been on any forums or anything.

Not a new browncoat, but new to FFF. Some friends and I are doing a series+Serenity marathon and I am trying to find some 'verse related food and/or alcohol recipes. I have scanned a few threads here and will continue after I have typed this out but I would certainly appreciate a friendly pointer to a thread that covers this topic should one actually exist!
Thanks,
Paul B

Not including Done The Impossible? I would play for background music the 2 soundtrack CDs, for Firefly (Greg Edmonson) and Serenity (mostly Newman IIRC).
I have seen some threads for recipes, including Mudder's Milk IIRC, but not sure where they are located.
Try to click on GO TO BOARDS on the main page, bottom right of each forum group window.
Then select BLUE SUN ROOM.
Here are many threads, which you might find useful.
But one of them is the WRITER'S RESOURCE PACKAGE where many links and hopefully helpful information is condensed and provided. One includes the shortcut to searching FFF for terms or topics.
Hope that helps, in a general way.
Not, of course, to prevent anybody else from chiming in with more specific help.

Kewl, thanks. That will definitely narrow my search down quite a bit!

We used to have a reference section that had a bunch of recipes in, but can't find it anymore.
In my search, I did run into this.
