The only thing I cared about as far as the Super Bowl is that the Patriots don't go. Thanks to Manning and the Broncos mission accomplished. Now I don't really care who wins. Ha!

Mid 50s here today, but calling for low 30s tomorrow and 3-5 inches of snow overnight tonight??? Weather is so up and down here. Changes daily.

We got down to 10 degrees overnight. 13 this morning when I hit the road. No bike today unfortunately since we got 4-5 inches in my area and 3-4 inches here in the city. Of course as this is Virginia everything is practically shut down due to snow. *sighs*

Hope all of our brothers & sisters in the areas that got heavy snow are doing well.

Not a huge fan of comics, but got my pre-order in for the upcoming Serenity series from Things from Another World. Also…I am really, truly sick of cold weather…but more tired of the panic-inducing weather forecasters. This IS winter and we get storms.
I agree with Browncoat1 and hope our brothers and sisters in heavy snowfall areas are doing well!

I know Ken & Niki are doing alright after the Winter Apocalypse hit ATL. All of those stranded motorists were unbelievable and now the politicians are all playing the blame game and pointing fingers.

It's finally Friday AND we actually got above freezing for the first time in what seems like weeks and weeks. Glad to hear our Atlanta friends survived the storm.

Glad to hear the pooch is doing well Sister. Kind of worried about our 19 year old tabby cat, Oni. She had a stroke two year ago that left her deaf and her tail paralyzed. Now she is going blind and we believe she is exhibiting early signs of renal failure. Taking her to the vet this afternoon to be checked out.

Thanks Sister. It is just what we thought, onset of renal failure. She is nearly 20 and has survived a stroke and still going, but the vet says she has maybe a few more months. We have her home resting comfortably in her favorite spot.

Forgive me if I come across as uncaring, but all people in Richmond have talked about for the last three days is the "huge snow storm" headed this way. While we are more used to it (and better equipped to deal with it) than the folk in Atlanta, it boggles my mind that people are staring at the doppler radar picture on their computers like they are seeing a hoard of Reavers headed their way and they can't escape. It's snow people, not Ragnarök. It is Winter and that means cold temperatures and the possibility of snow. I get that we are in Virginia and most of the state with the exception of the mountains gets little annual snowfall people act like the world is ending.

Yes, snow and ice make it difficult, even dangerous to drive, but not impossible. Allow more time, be careful, but be prepared. We are humans, not helpless fish trapped out of water. Your cupboards should never be so bare that you must rush the grocery store for milk and bread. Every household that gets snow, even if it is infrequently, should have a snow shovel and a plan for dealing with snowfall.

Maybe it is just the military man in me, more likely it is the Norseman in me, that feels people should be better prepared, more self sufficient, and ready to tackle a problem, rather than look on with dread and an inability to act.

We got six inches from yesterday afternoon into the wee hours of the morning today, but I am at work. My employer does not believe in weather prohibiting operation. *sigh* Richmond and surrounding counties are all shut down and will be through Monday I imaging. Calling for slim chance of freezing rain and sleet this afternoon, but I have the truck so it is all good.

Most of our 2-3 inches of snow and ice has melted and the forecast is for one more day of cold then a warming trend into the 70's by later next week…Plus, it's FRIDAY!!

A bit warmer today, in the mid 40s. Calling for low 60s by week's end, but chance of rain again this weekend. Dropping the bike off today for the 10k service, inspection, and get her in top shape for riding season in a few weeks. Of course I ride pretty much ten months out of the year. LOL

Friday indeed! At long last the weekend is nearly here!

Got those thunderstorms just before lunch that you sent our way Sister. Thanks for that. :p Passed in less than an hour though. Supposed to be cloudy the rest of the day and cooling off into the 40s, but it sure was nice to wake up this morning to 60 degrees. Weekend is supposed to be in the high 50s and sunny for the most part.

I'm watching Firefly, spent last Saturday playing the Role Playing Game with friends in Birmingham (my wonderful boyfriend included) & we recorded bits of it for an upcoming "Sending a Wave" podcast... my 3rd appearance now, I think! Also heading to friends' tonight to play table top games - said friends also gave my man the Firefly board game for Christmas! Can't wait to get into that one again, soon!

Hump Day. To those with Norse blood it is the All Father's Day, Odin's Day! Regardless of what you call it we are at the half way mark for the week.

The snow that all of the folks were making so much fuss about that was supposed to come today was nothing more than a pitiful flurry that lasted approximately 10 minutes, vanished, and was replaced by sunlight. Warmer weather on the way this weekend and the bike should be back from the shop today where it is getting inspected.

Got my copy of Leaves # 2 on the way home from work last night, along with Walking Dead #122, the only other comic I read anymore. At $3-$4 a piece it is just a tad too expensive a hobby for me now. Haven't read either of them yet. Waiting for the quiet weekend, where it is supposed to rain most of the day Saturday, to settle in with them.

Not so much here. Yesterday started with sleet on the way into work, which became snow around 9am that went on until 4pm. We got about 4-5 inches of snow on top of about an inch of ice. Not a pretty ride home last night. Sunny today, but only right around freezing. The sun is helping with the melting of the packed ice on the roads. No real slow down or negative side effects for me.

That being said I am SOOOOO ready for Spring. Day Light Savings coming up this Sunday will help by making the days longer. Not much longer now!

Wife is back in the U.S. She just got back into Fort Lauderdale from her Mission Ship cruise to Belize and Mexico where she joined a group of people headed down there to deliver relief supplies and funds to needy children. Very proud of her!

Yesterday was gorgeous! 75 degrees and sunny. Made for a great ride home last night. Course today is supposed to be 77, but thunderstorms all afternoon. *sigh* The yard was just beginning to dry up from all the snow and rain.

Cold front? Yep, looks like temps drop back down into the low 40s tomorrow, but supposed to be in the 60s Saturday and sunny. I'll take what I can get at this point. LOL

Bitterly cold today after rain most of the night. Constant cold wind with gusts of 30 mph is not helping and it feels like it is in the teens outside. Happy St. Patrick's DAY!! Yeah, it's big suck, too…and it's wet and cold here in TN; but I watched a good bit of the Firefly marathon on Science Channel yesterday so I'm feeling pretty good about life in general today.

No kidding. Got the Harley titled, tagged & insured Friday and got her on the road Saturday, only to have snow Sunday & Monday, rain all day yesterday and today. Screw you Winter! Bring on the Spring!

Supposed to finally dry up and be in the low 60s tomorrow and mid 60s Friday so should be able to get the bike on the road then.

Thanks Sister! Happy First Day of Spring! Sunny here today and supposed to be 62 degrees. Still damp from 4 days of snow, sleet and rain, but will be dry enough to ride tomorrow. Can't wait!

I am indeed! A bit cool this morning at 30 degrees, but I have cold weather gear to keep the last effects of winter at bay. Great ride into work this morning. Clear today and supposed to hit mid 60s. Going to be a beautiful ride home and I imagine I will find myself taking the long way home this afternoon.

Yeah. Beautiful days Friday and Saturday with the mercury climbing up past 68 both days. Lots of sunshine and low humidity made it easy to get in the saddle and get some hours on the road. Got some yard work done and aired the house out.

Course, Sunday was a different story. Rained pretty much all day, some snow mixed in during the early afternoon, and stayed below 42 all day. *sighs* Now they are calling for rain wee hours of the morning tomorrow with snow likely, though it won't stay long due to the temp being called at mid 40s.

Sure am ready for Spring. Have some outdoor projects I want to get done, a deck that I need to get started on, and some much needed wind therapy.

Good morning! Well the fruit trees took a hit but we'll see if they recover. It's Thor's Day…and I believe a new ep of 'Vikings' on the History Channel tonight…PLUS Friday Eve!! Rejoice!
