“Bergdahl is a deserter, and he’s not a hero,” says Buetow. “He needs to answer for what he did.”

Within days of his disappearance, says Buetow, teams monitoring radio chatter and cell phone communications intercepted an alarming message: The American is in Yahya Khel (a village two miles away). He’s looking for someone who speaks English so he can talk to the Taliban.

“I heard it straight from the interpreter’s lips as he heard it over the radio,” said Buetow. “There’s a lot more to this story than a soldier walking away.”

The Army will review the case of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl “in a comprehensive, coordinated effort,” Secretary of the Army John McHugh said Tuesday.

The review will include speaking with Bergdahl “to better learn from him the circumstances of his disappearance and captivity,” he said.

The night Bergdahl disappeared, says Buetow, the platoon was at a small outpost, consisting of two bunkers and a perimeter of military trucks. Buetow was in one of the bunkers, and Bergdahl was supposed to be in a tent by one of the trucks.

Bandar "Bush" bin Sultan is out. The Qataris (regional rivals of the Saudis) are probably ecstatic to be the go-betweens. Perhaps this is a quid pro quo arrangement. It does sound hard to believe, but apparently there's a road there that takes you into Mexico without a way to turn around if you want to. Similar road situations have probably happened to everybody who drives. He just got on the road to Hell.

I was kind of conjuring you watched Fox News once in a while.
Apparently Greta Van Sustern has done numerous stories, and actually went there several times, and pointed it out and made clear that there was no sign saying "you are entering Mexico", there was no directions saying "this way to Mexico" or "this way to stay in United States" and even using GPS to see where the border was being crossed, could not find any indication that you were crossing a border or leaving a nation.
I have not personally checked Greta's story, but I don't think she is lying.

Not a terribly huge fan of Greta. But hearing her again this afternoon working so hard on this case of massive injustice, and her butting heads with that Mexican a-hole has endeared me a bit more.

Greta mentioned again the other day that her show went down there and filmed the exit from the parking area: turning right, toward American cities TO THE NORTH was actually the direction to go to Mexico to the South, and there was no sign pointing to the left (South) across 8 lanes of traffic which said "To America" - those signs have now been posted after this case has made the news.

The names of the kidnapped hostages are Kevin King and Timothy Weeks, kidnapped on 7 August. U.S. Special Forces launched a rescue mission to retrieve both of them, but had to wait for Obama to approve of the rescue. Predictably, Obamination could not be bothered to take a few moments from his vacation Golf Game to approve the mission, and the rescue team had to return to base and wait for Obamination.
