Morena in The Mentalist??

Saw a brief promo clip of the Season Opener tonight, thought it looked Like Morena in short black hair, saying she thought Jayne was the smartest man she ever knew. Could be recurring her previous role from 2 prior seasons. Could not find any info on the imdb or Mentalist sites, for the episode Nothing But Blue Skies.

Anybody know if this is in fact her?

Yes, it's Morena, reprising her role of Erica Flynn, a murderess who has out-maneuvered and out-smarted Patrick Jane on two previous occasions. Her appearance is supposed to be in the third episode this season, which begins tonight.

OK, so the clip I saw was teaser for the Season, and not merely for tonight.

Ep 2 is listed for 7 Dec, with no air date yet set for the 3rd episode.

Still didn't find a date for Mentalist ep 3.

You are welcome. I was almost laughing too hard to type that at the time. I think her words were "you are" in that clip.

Saw Ep 2 last night, which was apparently the first part of a 2-part, or more like a 2-Episode arc, leading into Ep 3 with Morena central. Did not see see Morena credited last night, but I did not catch the whole credit roll.

Her role seemed very derivative of Inara, speech cadence, pacing, intonations, words. Did she ad-lib, or was all that in script? If in script, they must have written it with Inara in mind.

Was she like that in the earlier episodes with this character?

I didn't watch this most recent episode, or at least I haven't yet, but I did see the other two she was in. I don't think it is so much that they had Inara in mind as Morena herself. She was very cool and calculating, whereas Inara was warm and inviting (except to Mal of course).

Here is a recent pic of Morena at an after Emmy party, I don't think this short hair is her best look. But then a bunch of the pics in this slide show are not very flattering.

I think I have seen her with short yet more luxuriant hair, like more fluffy, more body or volume.
