Another atrocity for the 'civilized' world to shake their heads at and then conveniently forget about in a couple of days.
Jordan has a modern air force with all the weapons and firepower necessary to put a serious hurt on ISIS. I wonder if they'll do a gorram thing.

King Abdullah was incensed by the fate of Jordanian pilot Lt. Moaz al-Kassasbeh. The King apparently said he would deal with ISIS in the way Eastwood’s character acts in “Unforgiven.” At one point Eastwood's character says, “Any man I see out there, I’m gonna kill him. Any [expletive] takes a shot at me, I’m not only going to kill him, I’m going to kill his wife and all his friends and burn his damn house down.”

Anyone really think that a missile attack is on par w/ locking a man in a cage, and having him see the flames come towards him, knowing there's no where to run , to face a slow horrific death ?
It's crap like this that pretty much make me think there are no good guys in the world. We can't call evil evil, which is what ISIS is, w/ out trying to play the " yeah, but ... " game. It's pathetic.

Quote:It is pathetic that the King of Jordan and the US Air Force and ISIS don't know how to fight wars without committing crimes. Has everybody forgot how successful military strategies work? ISIS is just the worst, but at one time the millions of Axis power soldiers were defeated. Time passes and a few thousand ISIS soldiers are turning the whole world upside down as if it is WWII again. All that ancient 1940s military wisdom seems to have evaporated, leaving Generals who don't know how to win.

The King of Jordan in the Christian Science Monitor article is quoting Clint Eastwood's UNFORGIVEN for Jordan's strategy to fight ISIS, "I’m not only going to kill him, I’m going to kill his wife and all his friends and burn his damn house down." Pretty clearly the King knows nothing about winning a war. All he knows is how to pretend to be tough.
After the killing of the Jordanian pilot, the King of Jordan gets revenge against ISIS by executing a woman who did not actually kill anyone in her failed suicide bombing. She was arrested 7 years before there was an ISIS. The King just reacts in rage. I think he has no strategy to beat ISIS.
Another example from the Intercept article about the US Air Force confusing killing civilians with winning a war: a guy going to his cousin’s marriage remembers an American Hellfire missile slammed down from the sky, the bright red-and-orange colors, then the grisly sight of a dozen burned bodies and the cries of others wounded around him.
This very week the US Air Force finished destroying the Kurdish town of Kobani, killing 200 ISIS soldiers by destroying a Kurdish city of 200,000. It is a poor strategy when you bomb your allies' territory. It's like Vietnam, where the US dropped more tons of bombs on South Vietnam (not North Vietnam) than were dropped in WWII.
What the US Air Force did to Laos was just as impressively stupid.

Many Jordanians support al Qaida, so despite the fact that the king of Jordan allows the USA space in its borders for planes and training areas, the King of Jordan is also mightily afraid of his al Qaida sympathizers and appeases them in many ways. So I'm kind of struck by the fact that one set of jihadist Muslims (who believe in beheading and stoning people to death) would look in shock at someone burned to death and exclaim Why, that's going too far!!!
I was wondering why the split between ISIS an al Qaida, it seems a pointless difference. But it occurred to me that maybe al Qaida is the Saudi-funded offshoot of wahhabism, and ISIS is the Qatari-funded offshoot, and although both offshoots are Sunni they represent economic rivals.

On November 16, 2005, BBC News reported that an article published in the March–April 2005 issue of Field Artillery, a U.S. Army magazine, noted that white phosphorus had been used during the battle. According to the article written by a captain, a first lieutenant, and a sergeant, "WP [White Phosphorus] proved to be an effective and versatile munition. We used it for screening missions at two breeches and, later in the fight, as a potent psychological weapon against the insurgents in trench lines and spider holes where we could not get effects on them with HE [High Explosives]. We fired "shake and bake" missions at the insurgents, using WP to flush them out and HE to take them out."

Translating into layman's terms this means burn your enemies alive. A perfect weapon, except when used on civilians and prisoners. ISIS takes no care of its prisoners or civilians. On the other hand, the US Air Force, going all the way back to the days when it was called the US Army Air Force based in Guam and firebombing Japan, is more careful than ISIS about burning people alive. But not much more careful. As far as some US Generals are concerned, foreign civilians are a strange and hard to define concept. From high in the sky, it is just so difficult to tell ISIS soldiers from civilians.

Calley was convicted of murdering 22 civilians, face to face, close enough to be splashed with their blood. And then it got very interesting.
Arkansas, Kansas, Texas, New Jersey, and South Carolina legislatures requested clemency for Calley.
Very soon Calley was a pardoned war hero, no longer a convicted murderer.
Eventually, 41 years later, Calley did apologize, claiming he was ordered to murder those civilians. A military jury had said that excuse was false, but that didn't stop Calley from shifting the blame away from himself, one more time. The lesson the US military learned is to keep reporters away from scenes of civilians and prisoners being murdered. ISIS, being very stupid, has not learned that lesson. Yet.

I noticed that today the King of Jordan finally got his big fat lazy ass off his throne and sent his Air Force on a revenge bombing mission against ISIS. The bombs had messages painted on them for ISIS to read. But very soon the King will go back to claiming that Jordan is a teeny-tiny little country that can't fight a few thousand ISIS soldiers and the great big USA needs to do all the fighting while the King once again sits on his ass and watches TV. Why do Republicans keep siding with the Kings of Jordan and Saudi Arabia against what is best for the USA? Is the Tea Party treasonous?

ISIS is a threat to this country, and her interests. ISIS has already murdered US citizens. Innocents murdered, in the name of Allah.
According to U.S. State Department figures, at least 648 American citizens were murdered in Mexico between October 2002 and December 2012. This represents more than 40 percent of the almost 1,600 American victims worldwide over the same period.
Three of the top four most murderous countries for Americans are in Latin America. Behind Mexico on the list is the Philippines with 84 homicides, followed by Honduras and the Dominican Republic with 77 each. http://latino.foxnews.com/latino/news/2013/05/20/more-americans-murder

ISIS is a Tea Party priority. ISIS killed four Americans: Kayla Mueller, James Foley, Steven Sotloff and Peter "Abdul-Rahman" Kassig (Kassig's name change didn't convince ISIS). Pelosi wants more aid for Jordan
By Mike Lillis - 02/05/15 12:16 PM EST
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Thursday pressed President Obama to move quickly to boost military aid to Jordan in its fight against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Pelosi said the horrific death of a Jordanian pilot at the hands of the militants highlights the need for the United States to bolster Jordan's anti-terror efforts.
"Yes," Pelosi told reporters without hesitation, "I believe the administration should move quickly to give more capacity to the Jordanians."
A video released by ISIS this week shows militants burning 1st Lt. Moaz al-Kasasbeh alive in a cage. The Jordanian pilot had been captured by the group after his F-16 went down while fighting the militants on Christmas Eve.
The killing marked a new level of brutality for a terrorist group already known for its barbaric methods, including the beheadings of a number of Western civilians, and it's spurred a number of Capitol Hill lawmakers to call for a heightened response from the White House.

The Bechtels have made billions from the lineage of the King of Saudi Arabia. And there are other big shots in the Tea Party having the same warm and fuzzy feelings toward the Royals of Arabia.

If the Royals don't get the respect they feel they deserve, they will take their business and money to some other country. So Obama and Bechtel kiss Arabian ass.
The "respect" includes not telling the King of Arabia to handle ISIS. The King never takes orders from a President.

Quote:There has been an increased pressure from Tea Party leaders upon the Obama administration to frame the conflict with ISIS as a religious war against Islam. Pelosi and Obama have NOT actively resisted. Most of the time they keep politely quiet as expected from very wealthy politicians. Those two need to (that is not gonna happen) pour verbal gasoline on the Tea Party and set it on fire with some incendiary rhetoric. Maybe call the Tea Party historically illiterate fools and then prove the fact.

Pelosi needs to take up the sword and Obama the knife and start cutting off Tea Party heads and slitting Tea Party throats, metaphorically speaking. They won't do it because, well, you know, those two would have been Republicans in a different world. They are Democrats only because that's the one political party that would let those two, a woman and a black, climb to the top.
Obama made one little attempt to talk back to the Tea Party. Then he surrendered completely because, and this is the weak part of what he did, the Tea Party got very angry and spitting mad. Now Obama will stop talking about it because the Tea Party was completely unmoved by a tiny history lesson about Christianity – using religion to brutalize other people is not a Muslim invention, nor is it foreign to the American experience. Obama did not have the courage to continue talking about that because he is a wuss.

It's really simple, dim one. German solders were POW's, and members of a recognized nation. Necro-Muslims aren't. And the number of soldiers kept weren't a threat to murder civilians. THEY wanted to just go home, back to their families and go on living their lives. THESE idiots in Gitmo , which Obama pledged to close by the end of his FIRST year in office, are the generals and captains of their cult. Not mere foot soldiers. Majorities of Americans backed the organized killing of strangers after September 11, 2001, and the designation of a worldwide class of people as subhuman.
America has got a history of not caring about killing civilians, women and children. When the American Air Force goes after ISIS soldiers, they will be killing a far larger number of civilians. The King of Jordan panicked when ISIS burned his pilot. The King could have done two years ago what he did this week. ISIS ( Islamic State of Iraq and Syria ) was around in 2003. You know, in certain older civilized cultures, when men failed as entirely as the King has, they would throw themselves on their swords.
Where's a sword when you need one? Just like the King, AURaptor also panicked when ISIS burned the King's pilot. But AURaptor has no responsibility for the King's pilot. AURaptor's Georgia and the King's Jordan are on different sides of the world. AURaptor does not understand that ISIS is not a problem for Georgia. Or for the USA. It is Jordan's problem. AURaptor does not understand the difference between nearby problems and faraway problems. It's probably a learning disorder.
Many in the Tea Party of Texas have exactly the same mental disorder. It is genetic, inherited at the same time as their hatred of all sand niggers. Don't anyone pretend that racism is not the foundation of the Tea Party. For Texas, I am sure it is.

"When problems happen {in Jordan}, they don't call Beijing," Obama says, "they don't call Moscow. They call us."
He says this is a responsibility that Americans embrace, but it's clear that his policymaking also views it as a trap to avoid. Countries around the world have found that it's cost-effective to invest money and energy in influence-peddling in the United States in order to try to rent the earth's most powerful military force to advance their own ends. They are helped by a media that, as Obama says, takes an "if it bleeds, it leads" approach to coverage of global affairs, thus preventing any kind of sensible balancing of different priorities. -- www.vox.com/2015/2/9/8001459/obama-undoctrine

Today ISIS killed a young American woman, an aid worker. No details of her death have been revealed yet, but her incarceration and execution were likely beyond horrendous. And the U.S. does nothing.
